(Cheap security )- Keep 4'x8' sheets of 1/2" plywood stockpiled at your house to cover each window. When you need to install it, do it behind your closed curtains or blinds. That way from the outside it doesn't look like your hiding food or water, etc. You can use deck screws with washers to attach the plywood to the studs that run vertically on each side of your window. Being in construction I can tell you 1/2" plywood is brutal trying to demo because it's pliable and soaks up shock easily making it a real pain to get through. The good thing about this method is you will know when to defend with deadly force if needed as soon as that window outside the plywood breaks. At that point there's no guessing "you're in trouble". Save at least one door that you can exit quickly if need be.

We had a small Jack Russell terrier, and when he was about a year old, he was sitting on the back of a loveseat we had positioned in front of a living room window. It was wintertime, January and a bitter cold night. We were up late watching a movie, it was around 1 am.... and the heat was running, and that window had louvered blinds on it, fully closed. Our JRT started growling in a low tone. Then he stood up and tried getting his nose behind the blinds. He then jumped down and went to the front door not far from the loveseat. And he was snorting as he sniffed at the bottom of the door. We both thought someone was outside prowling, and I peeked through the corner of the blinds, to see what was out there.... and I'll be darned, a big deer about 20 feet away from our house, was munching on a bare spot of lawn, where the snow was gone. We couldn't believe how that dog knew something was outside.

Dogs are amazing creatures! And the WEF wants to do away with them too. 😡 I left a comment somewhere else about that, and someone responded that I and others like me might have to adapt because of all of the resources dogs use "for farming," and that they are "mutants" who spread disease and have damaging urine and feces. Un-flipping believable. Virtually any living thing can spread disease: bats, rodents, insects, And there are people who want us to EAT roaches and crickets. Dogs provide valuable services to humans in numerous capacities in addition to providing protection and companionship. #DogLover

Years ago, I had a severe trespassing problem. They cut paths through the blackberries and cut the barbed wire. So I started hanging road kill on t-bar posts at the areas of break in. Posted signs that reflected the meaning of the dead animals. Trespass stopped
Once three guys in a boat came across the lake to my house on a moonless night, after midnight. Just before they exited the boat onto my land, I hit them with two, one million candle power lights, blinding them. I told them I know who they are, and where they lived and that I had them covered for a half mile across the lake. I told them that the sheriff's department was notified and would meet them at the county boat dock. I never saw them again.
The solution, in my opinion, is to create a hard to kill target who's not afraid to dispatch them. Instill fear in your opponents.

Another consideration is to view these concepts from the standpoint of not having electricity or access to the Internet. For perimeter security, a simple alarm system using twine and sleighbells that you can get for decorative purposes at Christmas time and rigging a series of tripwires around the property to give an early perimeter alert. That way, you have time to react inside the house. You can make faraday cages with 10 gallon aluminum cans and aluminum tape around the lip of the cans to make sure that the seal is tight for the lid and then store batteries, flashlights, long range walkie-talkies, ham and other radio equipment, and other electronics that you may need after the grid goes down.
Make sure to test every piece of equipment thoroughly before you have the grid down situation because once it happens, you’re not going to Walmart and getting parts or more equipment. You are going to be using what you have. Think in terms of going back to the Stone Age where nothing electric works and you have to grind your wheat for baking bread with a manual grinder, having ways to heat without electricity, being able to cook without gas or electricity (propane will work for as long as you have access to a supply, but after that, you will want to know how to build a rocket stove. You will also want to know how to filter water when all of the current products can’t be obtained. You might look at using terra-cotta pots as water filtration devices. There are lots of videos on the Internet about that right now and it’s a good idea to get trained on all of those things before you lose access to the information. Also finally you will want to get hardcopies of books for every kind of survival skill because once you can’t get to the Internet anymore, you will only have what you know already and what you have in the form of a book to look up.
One of the most important survival skills is to build a community of skilled (and tested) people who have a very clear structure of roles, responsibilities, leadership, and to test it often. You’ll want at least a few people who have self defense, medical, food cultivation and preservation, etc.
Also, consider installing EMPShield devices -
    www.EMPShield.com
    Most importantly: GET GOD.
Get back to what made this country great, adherence to Christian morality and the template for right living that we were given by Jesus Christ. Raise your children in the admonition of the Lord. Go to church every Sunday and build your Christian community with your neighbors. Reach out to your local neighbors and build those relationships because you will need each other.
Finally, there is no time to waste. If you have eyes and ears and a brain, you know that the insanity of this world is sourced in a great and growing evil. You must fight this and you must encourage everyone you know to do the same because this is a battle of a spiritual nature and if you study Holy Scripture, you know that the Kingdom is coming and that the Lord is drawing near. He is giving all of us a chance to repent and turn ourselves toward His Will for us. Get right with God and with each other!

I have been periodically performing a search, for the topic of , prevention of home invasions. I have observed that very few of the sites have been updated, as though no new ideas have been conceived in the ten years since the posts were made.
In our world of ever increasing crimes, I would have thought an abundance of new ideas would have sprung up, to assist new victims. Not so, apparently.
Instead I see a search result with more and more half hearted efforts to keep homeowners safe. It is as though we are being encouraged to think we should give up, again and again, and hand over what is left of our very average belongings to burglars.

When you set up your external camera system, make sure that you have coverage both from your house facing outward and from the outer perimeter looking in (depending on the size of your property). Inward facing cameras can cover bad guys approaching your home but using trees/vehicles etc for cover. This is an often overlooked item. Exterior cameras in general are often overlooked. For example, banks have cameras INSIDE. Yet bank robbers have to APPROACH and EGRESS the building in order to rob it. Exterior cameras are worth their weight in gold!

About the security system signage and stickers: It might be effective in some instances, but in a "without rule of law" situation, those attacking your home probably don't care a whole lot. However, years ago I read an article from an interview with a professional thief about things that made a house a more attractive target, and he said that putting the signage outside, clued him in on what system he was up against so he could more effectively bypass and do it more quickly. Now, as I said, I read the article some years ago, so newer technology may make things a little more challenging, but it's something to consider. Having a couple of medium to large size dogs may be a better deterrent, but with armed intruders, your dogs could still be sacrificed.

I have family members and people who will fight to the death for the group you have to sleep at some point and having eyes on so to speak at all times is crucial but that’s just my opinion.

Your hinge pins are on the outside of the door. No matter how it's welded or screwed all someone has to do is use a hammer and screwdriver to tap the pins out and they are through your security door. If you put that system on the inside of the door rather than the outside it would work much better as the intruder wouldn't have access to the pins.

    • @TheMacs1
      @TheMacs1  Рік тому +13

The doors also are bolted with the cross bar in the frame of the door. Even if they could get the pin out, the doors are still going to have to ripped piece by piece from the steal cross beam is going in both pieces of steal so that’s actually what holds the wood snug.. the hinge is to open and not have to take off but ultimately the strength is in the inside with the steal cross beam going in each holder on door and then a slip spot cut out of each side to go into the wall steal.

Planting thorny bushes around valuable plantings is a great idea. We have wild blackberries that I will probably start around my garden area. It's a chore to keep them contained though! Do the "secret garden of survival" thing and interplant fruit and nut trees and shrubs with smaller annuals and herbs in a natural-looking arrangement rather than in neat tidy rows. Once things grow in it will look like a field of overgrown weeds and such, keeping hungry people from spotting your food from hundreds of yards away.

The only thing I strongly disagree with here is... Train with your equipment! Don't leave your body armor in the closet. Put it on and walk around and get used to it. You will rapidly learn why light armor is more expensive. If SHTF, you will need to be able to wear your armor for long periods of time. A crisis is the wrong time to find out that something isn't durable, doesn't work, or rubs you the wrong way in the wrong places. Everything else is good advice. Everyone's situation is different, give it some thought. Think about it from the other side.. look around and ask yourself, if I wanted to get in here and get something, what would deter me?

very good tips, I would also look at psychological preps, how about smoke grenades for use in the home, if intruders cant see they cant fight effectively and have no way of knowing whats waiting for them such as the traps the viet cong used- big sharp sticks pointing towards door, attacker runs in and impaled, even better put poo on it so it poisons them too, have speakers which put out barking dog sounds or sirens or even gun fire, have your spot lights with red dot lasers in them, the attacker dont know what there attached too, could be fake or could be a weapon, imagine a single attacker suddenly having 6 red dots pointed at them in the dark/smoke, would probably make them reconsider their actions.

If you have a fuel tank outside and convenient for the gas company to fill, it’s also accessible to thieves. I spent and hour and a half wrapping chain around it with two locks to keep anyone from draining it through the filter system. I’ve got over $1600 worth of fuel in mine. On the top is a lock, but it’s worthless. I’m putting a motion detection light above it. My bedroom is next to it and I’ll see the light and hear any noise coming from anyone bumping the metal tank. Fuel in kerosene is costing families $800 a month here in Northern California.

You can get sheets at lowes for like 100 usd a sheet. Not visible from the outside unless youre looking really hard and if you have shades you cant see them on the inside but Im confident to see how they block people from getting inside. Glass breaking would be the initial alarm and when they would try to enter it would physically not be possible unless they start cutting. Done right, it will also bring in wildlife and insects that are beneficial.

Thank you for the valuable advice. I suppose there could be different kinds of marauders/invaders. In my country, attackers often want people to be at home, so that they can threaten them (sometimes even torture them) and get guns and valuables as quickly as possible without having to search for them.
Prayer can also make a big difference of course. I've heard of people being protected supernaturally.
I've read (three times -- twice in newspaper reports) about people who were able to ward off attackers by shouting "In the Name of Jesus go away", but I haven't been in such a situation myself, yet. I've only been in a situation where it worked against evil spirits. (Of course one has to be in right standing with God to have the authority to use the Name of Jesus in that way [issuing a command]).
But my suspicion is that it might be effective if a person is being urged on by evil spirits to have evil intentions and do evil things. When the demons are rebuked in the Name of Jesus, they might flee, and the person under their influence might feel an urge to flee as well. But I have my doubts about whether using the Name of Jesus against a law enforcer (someone just following orders and doing their job) would necessarily have the same effect.

I thought I might add more on this topic.
In my country there is a high level or crime, including farm attacks. What the attackers do is to scope out the farmhouse first, watching it for some time (days or weeks) before they attack. What they often do is to wait for the residents to leave, and then ambush them when they return.
But as I've said, they sometimes attack while people are at home. One farmer told of attackers trying their best to lure him out of the house one night, by making trouble with the animals. He stayed put inside. He was alone, and all he had to drink was the water in the kettle. The criminals finally gave up and left.
This isn't always the case. Sometimes attackers force their way into the house, even if they have to enter through the roof. One elderly lady bought a television three times in short succession after being robbed repeatedly. With the last incident she realized that the robbers had come for her, not just for her possessions, and fled from a side door, running out into the dark towards her neighbors. My thought about this was that perhaps at this point she should stop buying televisions (a popular attraction for robbers).
A sad thing is that sometimes people are attacked by employees or by people they had taken under their wing. In one instance, a domestic worker had been with the family for a number of years and all seemed well, but a new boyfriend had a bad influence on the woman. It ended with a violent robbery.
Finally, I hope you don't mind if I send you something I wrote for someone else, about the power of the Name of Jesus, which can be of value to Bible-believing Christians when they are in right standing with God. An easy way to be right standing with God is to pray the Lord's Prayer (that Jesus gave us to pray) from the heart (trusting in God with child-like humility and dependence).
Three times I read about people being saved by the power of the Name of Jesus. Twice in newspaper reports, a number of years apart. It was a provincial newspaper with a large circulation. The first time, there was a small article at the bottom of the front page. It reported on an attack that took place a long distance away from the head office of the newspaper, in the south of the country. A woman was walking in a park when two youths rushed at her and started stabbing at her with screwdrivers. She raised her hands to fend them off, and they stabbed her in the hands. She then cried out, "In the Name of Jesus don't hurt me!" They turned away from her and started stabbing each other. Then they stopped and ran away. Although the woman had been injured, she found this experience tremendously positive, and afterwards said that people should not be afraid to trust God to help them.
The second newspaper report was on page 4 if I remember correctly. In another part of the country (this time in the north, also a long distance away), a university student and his girlfriend were sitting in a public park, working on a study assignment. Suddenly four men wielding knives approached them and attacked them. They tried to defend themselves -- the female student threw her cellphone at one of the attackers, while her friend tried to fend off the others with his notebook. He realized that it wouldn't be enough, and shouted, "In the Name of Jesus Christ, go away from here!" The attackers immediately turned and fled. The student said afterwards that there had been a church group nearby, but that they had done nothing to help them.
The third report of someone being saved in this way was in a book on farm attacks. The author explained the modus operandi of farm attackers, and mentioned amongst other things how they would sometimes leave some kind of object (often of a certain color to give a coded message) near the gate or fence of a farm that attackers intended to target. Farmers had to be on the lookout for such things and for anything unusual. In the last or penultimate chapter of the book, he said that after covering all that he did, he had something more to say which might make a difference, to people willing to consider such advice. He told of various individuals who had found themselves trapped by attackers and had to think quickly.
One of the incidents he described was of a woman who had just returned home from a shopping trip. She parked her car in the driveway of her yard, and got out of her car. As she stood there with her shopping bags, a group of men ran towards her from the backyard. She cried out, "In the Name of Jesus, leave me alone!" (or something similar-sounding). They changed direction, curving away from her, and kept running, right out the gate. She never saw them again.
As I've mentioned, I have personal experience in this regard but would prefer not to provide all the details. Suffice to say that I was finally able to put more distance between myself and someone who was involved in the occult (who I forgive and regard with compassion and respect), by saying, "In the Name of Jesus I bind you; in the Name of Jesus I forbid you from watching me any further and exercising influence over my life; in the Name of Jesus, go away!" It was effective. The person (astral projecting with the help of an evil spirit) couldn't continue watching me that way.
I read somewhere of someone in Tibet having had a visionary dream in which Jesus appeared to him and advised him as to how one should deal with evil spirits. Amongst other things (according to what I read -- can't remember whether it was in a book) this person reported that Jesus had told him that when you say with authority, "In the Name of Jesus", demons (evil spirits) freeze. I don't know whether that is true, but if it is, it would mean that you don't have to be in a nervous hurry when (while in right standing with God), you rebuke an evil spirit (or a person being urged to do something evil -- e.g. harm you -- by evil spirits -- a person who has decided to give in to that urging).
You can be calm about it. When you issue the command, say it like you mean it, in a succinct, straightforward way. Not in a ritualistic way, as though it's mere words, but from the heart. Almost like you would tell a dog that follows you, to "Go home!". You can even say it softly if you want -- demons have sharp ears.
I suspect that what might be happening in the case of someone who attacks you in person -- within hearing distance -- is that evil spirits are very afraid of Jesus and His authority (they tremble in fear), and that when a Christian believer rebukes evil spirits, the fear that they feel can also be felt by the human being they are influencing. Whatever the explanation might be, the important thing to me is that thanks to the power and grace of God, it made a difference. I have a defense.
To God be all the thanks and glory!

A great product to enhance your solar generator is a battery sump pump back up.. I have a solar generator and solar panels and I also have 2 sump pump back up battery. Plug the back up in and plug the sump pump into it. Will run my pump for 24 hours. The plus is I paid 150$. Not a long term thing but great for when the power first goes out and if you are running a generator you can charge these up like a solar generator for a fraction of the cost.

Reinforcements are just to buy you time. Doors and windows become fatal funnels for the intruder if he has to spend time there and make noise getting through. The outer doors that open out are great for that. Most doors can be knocked inward off their hinges easily.

I think hiding your preps within your home and getting outta the way should also be planned.. at the end of the day if they can't get in there isn't much stopping them from not letting you out.. or burning you out.

I'll give you gold here. Clear everything away from your house that someone(s) "assaulting" your house (after SHTF) could use for cover or concealment. Now give them places to duck behind. In other words, the only items of cover that they can run to are things that you provided for them. This is a really good version of funneling your enemy into "kill zones".
Once you have thought that out, concider the following...
You can construct these objects of "cover" to LOOK very substantial, as in they look "bullet proof". You could build build a short (6 or 8 ft. long?) low (3 ft. high?) wall that looks like concrete (solid looking). Frame it up, skin it with thin plywood, and then stucco it. Paint it concrete gray. Now if you were an "enemy combatant" and were running up on your house you would naturally run to the only "cover" available which would be that ""concrete" wall which high speed flying lead will pass right through. You could further put a divider of some sort that would funnel two people to either end (left and right) of the wall. Make sure you construct the wall to bunch the two individuals into an exact location so you know exactly where to direct fire to. Further, you could design various types of comand detonated party favors behind these walls. Think gelled fuel fun. Hell, you could easily buy two bear traps and place them at each end of the wall. Could you imagine them dropping a knee into a bear trap. They will NOT get that knee out.
There are hundreds if variations on this concept. You could install cameras behind the wall so you could actually see them behind the wall. 100% of the idiots coming to raid your house most likely are not going to be thinking that you have pre planned funneling them into party zones. Do not do any of this unless we are living in an actual war zone without rule of law.
I actually wrote this as a joke and as a thought exercise only. I never intended this for actual use on any level. Just sit and think about it.
    Just saying.

My thoughts are to put chain link fence across your garage door and siding door when it hits the fan won't stop them but u will know something is going on and sand bags for bullet protection
