Hah, I just bought the Monstrum. Case is great with plenty of room and well organized. I merged the picks from the Night School Tuxedo plus edition into it, added the SSDEV hooks, the 0.15 picks and a few other things to pull a pretty good set of tools together, finally. Loving sparrows' gear. Octo rake surprisingly kicks ass. Like the Sandman, it feels awesome to hold and use.
@@TomBrayer2 Can't remember, which is probably a good thing. Monstrum XXL is selling here now for $159AUD: www.pickpals.com.au/buy-lockpicks/sets/monstrum-xxl/
I've been lurking & learning from your great videos for a while, thought I'd say "Hi!" and Thank You for the time you so generously give us in making these videos. keep them coming!
i use this kit and i love it. i am fairly new to lock picking however trial and error is my motto if i cant pick a lock its because im doing it wrong. i just move along till i find a pick that works for me. and this kit has everything you need.
What I need is a top of the keyway tool with some bends/twists. Being a left handed picker means that tools like the prybar don't give you a proper place to push against to tension, you're forced to pull on the tension tool.
So I just got into lock picking thanks to watching your videos. I currently bought a cheap set off of amazon and have been practicing on the see through lock that came with the set I got. I also have been picking the Master lock on my shed, man you are not kidding about how easy those are to open. Again I would like to thank you for posting these videos as they are very helpful to learning tricks.
G'Day Bill; still loving the reviews, I don't know about everyone else but they are definitely saving me alot of trial & error on tool selection. Great value for that price, there is heaps in that one kit.
I have probably spent about that much with them buying a creeper set and a bunch of single picks. Looking back I should have bought this set! Bill, it's all because of you that I bought sparrows. Your creeper set review sold me. Man has my picking sky rocketed in the last 2 weeks just going to a nice set! I'd love this set! Thanks for every opportunity to win!
Agreed, I have never been so tempted to buy a Ford Fusion. Much better than those intros that told me to vote for Harper. Robot Frank the Bunny was confusing, but he's cool too.
Looking forward to this arriving in the mail. It's my bday gift to myself for surviving this crazy world for 40 years. I've already got an Octo Rake, so I'm going to dremel this one down so it's not as tall.
This is what I'm hoping to get for Christmas. The Sparrow Monstrum XXL kit along with some individual items that normally come with the vorax set; the Sandman pick, the comb/torque bars, and the SSDev hooks. I'm hoping that will cover almost anything I'll ever need in regards to pin and tumbler locks. Of course I will need different equipment for different kinds of locks, but this seemed like a decent place to begin with. I'd much prefer having too many picks of which I don't use too many of that often rather than be in a situation where I'm wishing I had a particular pick that isn't very common but I don't have it.
I stand by the octo rake, all hail cthulu, it has taken me out of nasty situations in more than one occasion, such as the time i got to a customers jeep cherokee and had forgotten my reach tool and airbags, the mighty octo rake picked that car lock twice, only cuz i turned it the wrong way the first time
Yeah, he's mixed up those two on a few videos. I didn't have the heart to tell him - I think ol' Bill needs a little rest. :) He's still good at what he does...God bless!
I have told everyone I know about LOCK LAB I hope this becomes alot more popular. have you thought about shirts or stickers? Love the picks and would love to have it
I got this kit (monstrum xxl) a little over a year ago and they’re pretty good to me, the metal is pretty good but after a lot of use some of the hooks will bend a bit and I’m not that rough, but honestly I really like this kit, lots of useful picks, rakes and wrenches. The funky thick hooks in the wizwazel work great, I use them a lot. The first two “unnamed” picks in the second group aka the monstrum actually work well as shanks on some cheap padlocks, especially the small ones. The case has a ton of room thanks to the fold out book style, I was able to fit a bunch of my old tension wrenches, jigglers, and bump keys in it as well, honestly, I stuffed everything inside it and it’s kinda hard to zip up but it’s held on like the button on those old pair of jeans you obviously outgrew but you still thought you looked good in them so you wore them anyway and now that poor button is just white knuckling it-praying you don’t decide to sit your f@t @$$ down or it will shoot off and injure someone…. In conclusion: good lockpicks. Thanks sparrows. Nice job.
i got this kit , plus pretty much every single pick and bypass tool sparrows has makes

Was waiting quite a while for this review. Thank you for that. Quite weird stuff they put into that. Nice to have so many tension wrenches. Should be easy to taper some of them to make them fit better into more uncommon locks.
Thanks for the review BB. Gonna just go with the Wizwazzle. Wouldn't mind trying the Monstrums some time but I don't like having too many choices. If ya can't pick it with the Wiz stuff= find a different lock, hahaha.
If you had to pick one, Monstrum XXL or Vorax? Keep in mind I can buy the sandman or octorake separately. Looking to buy one or the other, maybe buy a few extras.
great video! i was almost going to buy some cheap pick sets off of BangGood.. to get back into lock picking.. then i saw you guys mention sparrows... honestly I think you'd pay more buying them from a Chinese company. when calculating shipping and sheer time to get to you. as well as all the reviews of the picks turning up bent. Decided to go with these guys.. just cant decide if id do this kit or the vorax.. either way great video!~ Thanks
Im A beginner, I just have a very, very basic pick set, but I am learning with what I have. Im a bit fixed on cash, and Im looking for a good quality kit that I can grow into and really have security in knowing I have those advanced kits. In that respect, would you suggest this? I can afford it for the present time, but my worry is that I wont have a large amount of money to spend in the future to continue to add to my kit as my needs change.

How much did that cost?

I know it is quite off topic but do anybody know of a good place to stream new tv shows online ?
@Shane Kye Flixportal :P
@Branson Marco Thank you, signed up and it seems like they got a lot of movies there :) I really appreciate it !

I wish wizwazzle still made picking videos. He was the king way back when.
In my mind, he still IS. Awesome picker and I often wonder what he's doing nowadays.
I feel that the kit is lacking in tension wrenches, what if I need to tension 25 locks at the same time?
That’s why I’m not buying it...

Das Grinch -- Consensus is to modify as needed with butane micro torch (minimize heated area) and some strategic spot heating. Southpaw here too.
Thanks for the review and advice, Bill. Looks like Sparrow is finding interesting ways to clear out their pick supplies with this pick set.

bill always has the most epic intros. that kit is awesome.

bill out of all the intros, this one wins .
hands down the best!!

Nice vid! Thanks for getting me into lock picking
Great channel I love watching your reviews on pick sets and challenge locks videos.
I have been looking that kit for a while now. I think this video made my mind up for me.
WOW! What a hell of a kit, i didnt even know Sparrows made alot of these picks. I just might have to start saving up for this very nice kit.
The intro is awesome!

Killing it with all these new intros, awesome!!!
Thanks for all the great videos. Keep up the great work!
Awesome Intro...Thanks for your time and effort B Bill.
I do remember Wizwazzle saying they give extra length on most of the Sparrows tension tools so the end user can modify to exactly their preferences
Holy jesus, you weren't kidding, Bill!
Awesome intro. Awesome pick set and as usual awesome video all round!
i hope sparrows will have a stand at defcon again this year, gonna pick me up that octopus and some top of the keyway tensioners
I stand by the octo rake, all hail cthulu, it has taken me out of nasty situations in more than one occasion, such as the time i got to a customers jeep cherokee and had forgotten my reach tool and airbags, the mighty octo rake picked that car lock twice, only cuz i turned it the wrong way the first time
Ruben Briones, plug spinner
Wow. You put quite a bit into that into!! Great job
Wow look at all those tension bars, I think I'm in love ;)
AWESOME INTRO! I had to replay on the surround sound.

Beautiful kit, amazing review as always! Your attention to detail is admirable :)
The first you said was the standard/short hook is actually the euro hook and vice versa. Great video Bill!
Yeah, he's mixed up those two on a few videos.
I didn't have the heart to tell him - I think ol' Bill needs a little rest. :)
He's still good at what he does...God bless!
These intros just get better and better
I have told everyone I know about LOCK LAB I hope this becomes alot more popular. have you thought about shirts or stickers? Love the picks and would love to have it

Great review as usual Bill!
Nice, be neat to test out the octorake compared to a standard snake
Be nice if they had a shim or two in there, oh well can't get everything
Great review! I've been eyeing this set for a awhile.
Great review as always bill
Looks like a nice set!
Oh man that's one nice looking set.
The tension wrenches are really nice. So many beginner kits don't have the right wrenches.
Really Solid Kit there. I love some of Sparrows other supplies, haven't made the investment into the big guys yet.
Thanks for the videos.
thanks for giving back
I am a beginner but this is a great kit to grow into.
Great set and in depth review would love to be able to get my hands on these.
