Rich Wilkerson Jr. - Single and Secure

  • Опубліковано 30 чер 2019
  • You’ve got your list of nonnegotiables down pat. You know exactly what you want in a significant other. What’s not obvious is you're probably getting lost in a crowd of culture urging you to get into a relationship so you can finally live your best life.
Pastor Rich Wilkerson Jr. shares the talk “Single and Secure” to encourage singles to put effort toward personal development. He reminds us that it first takes healthy individuals to form healthy relationships.
The prospect of getting into a relationship can shift our focus from the blessings right in front of us. Yet the benefits of being single can open up to us if we're willing to lean in. Being single isn't a period God is waiting for us to get through. He wants us growing in this season as much as in any other.
Don’t put life on hold wasting energy waiting on that perfect relationship to come by. Show up today by pursuing the dynamic, fruitful life God wills for you. Time alone is a good opportunity to get your relationship with Jesus on solid ground. Because no matter what the people say, it’s not a spouse that brings security, it’s a Savior that does.

Never heard of this church, never heard of this pastor but it came up on my recommendations, I truly believe it was God ordained. Just broke up with my bf who I thought was the " one", but he wasn't. God has the best one for me, I know God needs me to be alone in this season, He is proving to me time after time just how much He loves me. I am falling in love with Him deeper and deeper, He is my source, He is my provider He is my husband, He is EVERYTHING to me. Singleness is an awesome place to be at, when you know you have your Heavenly Father with you by your side. I don't want to look like someone else, I want to stand out and as Gods children, we stand out above everyone! Thank you Father for leading me to this wonderful sermon, you lead me where I needed to be and that was to hear this message ❤

      @Arcanon10 3 роки тому +3

Is that really the issue or question, however? Why is it automatically assumed that a person who desires marriage and who is tired of the pain of prolonged singleness somehow has their spiritual priorities backwards? No one ever says that to a young pastor seeking a spouse but rather only to older singles who are struggling with the pain of prolonged singleness. Quite to the contrary, I have heard many advise young pastors and young Christians to seek out a God-blessed and God-ordained marriage. I have even heard pastors say how much they "hated" being single and are so joyful and thankful that the Lord brought them a spouse. Are such people trying to "fill with a spouse" the role meant for God? Somehow I think that charge would never be levied at such people. Yet if a person who has been struggling with unwanted, prolonged singleness for years dares give voice to their pain, loneliness, lack of affectionate intimacy, and maddeningly never-ending sexual frustrations, suddenly they are "idolizing a spouse over God?" Hypocritical sophistry at its most inane.

In the bible it says some are meant to be single and some are meant to be married. I'm so glad that I know I'm meant to be single with no kids for the rest of my life and a virgin for the rest of my life. I have never wanted that or desired that and I know this is the path that God has for me. A more peaceful life where u can focus on God fully. It's so hard to do that with marriage and kids.

41 year old man, still single and content with being single and never married. This is an awesome message, and if God wanted me to talk about this subject, I'd believe that He can give the Grace to. You can find your worth, security, singleness in Jesus. Along with it's battles, you can be apart of that minority in a society that expects marriage.
Because younger single man and single woman, I'm there myself.
Jesus also made a reference to those who were Eunuchs , reserved for the Kingdom of God in Matt 19:12.
There is no condemnation for those who want to be single married. Mark my words !

Wow don’t know how this came on my recommendations but it’s 1:40am in the morning and I couldn’t sleep and this blessed my life and God also convicted me on what he said about love being a responsibility and sacrifices and this also applies to our love and relationship to God I.e. sometimes you have to sacrifice time to get up earlier to spend time with him and responsibility as far as it’s our responsibility to put him first in our lives as God is a God of free will and will not force us to love him and wants people that genuinely love him.
Thank you for this message , God bless you and your ministry!

Hello from Cambridge:) UK, I want to tell you that your video, changed my vision, how to live life as a single mum. I love listening, you and your wife, I also have to admit I never been in Christian religion, but I always had love for God, but I didn't follow any religion until finally found peace in my life, I start praying and tomorrow I going to church second time in my life. Thanks for your words they changed my life 🙏🙏🙏

I have had an amazing life so far, and I have deliberately chosen to stay single single for almost 6 years now and I'm not gonna lie, it's been the best years of my life so far. I'm not going to stay singe forever. In fact I initially just decided to take a break from dating and I planned on about 3 to 6 months and the more time that passed, the happier I have become. I have used this time to better myself and change the things that needed to be changed so that when God does bring my forever girl into my life, I'll be ready as can be.

He's so right about what are you going to do after college question. I'm like let me live my life. I really want to tell these people to leave me alone. I know most of them care, but it can be overbearing.
Edit: I do feel like the church does put pressure on people to be married. I have family members ask me about guys at college and I'm like I'm happily single.

I believe God bought me here to watch this sermon. I was watching other which talks about God will tell you give you some signs that he's not the one. First I saw some comments mentioned someone name ruth monroe at that moment reminded me Ruth in the bible. And then I watch another video which someone talks about the chapter Ruth but I only watched half of the video and I saw this one and which the title got my attention so I click and watch...but then he talks about the chapter Ruth again! But I just wanted to say. Is easy for people who has a beautiful and godly relationship to say singleness is fine (I'm sorry I think I'm a bit bitterness). But I've never find someone who truly loves me and cares about me, they just use me and hurt me. Even now the one I have(I dont even feel that I have him actually) I thought he love me becoz he is a Christian and his parents are Christian too. But then he just using me...I want to let go I want to move on. I do like being single when I'm a single. But once you in a relationship is so hard to leave. My mind know so well that I have to leave him I even know God already give me many signs to tell me that he is not the one. But my heart won't listen to me...the heartache is so real and so pain

Sweetheart you need to let go. When you don't let go soon you will be more hurt by the time you decide to. You just need to trust God about it.

@@freedtoservewithjanette2458 oh my dear Lord. Do you know how long I've been struggling with letting him go for? 2 years. Since the day I found out he just using me to solve his loneliness while he was waiting for his ex-wife to come back (she cheated on him and not long agohe finally admitted that he doesn't know what he want and didnt know what God want him to do. Also said he never thought that he will in love with me etc). I tried to broke up with him many times. And I knew that God already gives me many signs to tell me he's not the one. But I lied to myself and always jump back to him...I really really wanted to end this relationship but I'm so weak. I pray and I pray that God can help me to end this relationship. Then your reply pops up. Thank you so much for your reply and thank God for answered my prayers. God bless you and your family
