I love traveling around Japan. Kyoto is awesomely beautiful old town and lot’s of temples and shrines. Eikando and Nanzenji are truly a great place to visit. Thank you so much for the wonderful tour . Reminds me my fantastic walk there last year (Autumn) Yes! Japanese language is very hard to learn. (Kanji, Katakana and Hiragana)Enjoy your travels.
Long story short, shinto and buddhism were amalgamated before. But in the meiji period, the new meiji government issued the ordinance distinguishing shinto and buddhism. That's why some old temples have torii gate.
I’m a university student in Kyoto so I think I know a lot of great historical places. But I’m really admired how beautiful these places are through your incredible video. Kudos to you, I could know there is still great scenery in Kyoto. I hope you could have good time in Japan and I’m looking forward you coming Japan again!! ありがとう!!
Doe mo arigato Nick , love japanese gardens, they are so manicured & beautiful. Perhaps the best gardens in the world. Good to see you getting a lot more comments now.
H i ! Nick😊 I'm learning english, and your videos are useful for me. I love your travel vlogs. Especially this one! ! The scene that pink flowers, leaf, water...breathtaking😍👏🏻 HINODEudon! Nice choice👍 Good luck❗️ from kanagawa pre.japan✨ Natsuko✨
Dayum! Again with the awesome intro!! In my head i was imagining Anthony Bourdain's voice doing a monologue over that intro. The rest of the video is impeccable as always. Great work!
Lovely views and I'm glad you started with a lesser-known temple up north--you got very lucky with the weather, too! Too bad you didn't get to Ginkaku-ji (you were nearby), one of my favorites--often bypassed in favor of Kinkaku-ji, the so-called Golden Pavilion. Japanese is easy to pronounce if you just take a few minutes to practice the vowel sounds (a = ah, e = eh, i = ee, o = oh, u = oo), which--unlike with English--don't change. With a few exceptions, vowels and consonants alternate, so pronunciation isn't difficult.
I hope to be visiting soon..not with so nice weather I suspect. There are certain spots and temples/shrines I'd like to see but as yet not pinning down which and where!..As there are so many..tracking and the exact places I want to see or photo is proving beyond me right now(don't know the names)...I guess I'll just hope I will come across them while there...But to miss out on the exact spots I want to see will be a bummer if I was so close yet so far..Oh well..such is...You certainly had the weather on yourside..The greenery is so calming..So glad most Japanese if not all do not litter.Wish my country was like that...rubbish everywhere...And if it's not rubbish it's dog mess....*sigh*.
I am impressed by what you are trying to see and the scenery you have burned into your mind ! I am very glad that you are interested in and respect the traditional beauty and culture of Japan. In Kyoto, shrines and temples are part of the daily life of the residents. If tourists return to Kyoto as before, the lives of the residents may be threatened and more billboards may be put up on the streets. For example, people breaking into homes to take pictures, groups of people getting lost and making a big fuss, groups surrounding geishas to take pictures, and trash littering the streets every day. It would be nice if all travelers had the same moderation and manners as you 🌱🌱
As another comment mentioned, there is the practice of "Takigyo" in Japan, the waterfall spiritual exercise. Do you think you will be interested in trying that out? There are natural waterfalls around Japan that is famous for that. Maybe also possible to arrange one paring with hot spring trip. As Takigyo is practice with cold waterfall water. And it's getting cold in the year. It's gonna be eye opening. 滝行(たきぎょう)Takigyo
Thanks for the nice video😊 I've been watching a lot of your videos lately. I am glad that you are interested in old Japanese temples.🥰 By the way, there are few people around Nanzenji. I think I'll go this weekend.
🌸Philosopher's Trail is where the Japanese philosopher Nishida Kitaro 西田 幾多郎 (1870-1945) from Kyoto University used to walk daily. It's named Philosopher's Trail afterward in the 1970s.🦉🦉 Nishida was one of the most iconic Japanese philosopher and the leader of Kyoto School (京都学派, Kyoto-gakuha) philosophy.
Japanese ancestor is said to be an ancient Jewish, one of the 10 lost tribes of Israel and you will find many similarities in language, religion (shinto shrines - ex. Suwa Jinja), rituals, festivals and many more. Nearly 40% of the Japanese have the specific gene sequence called YAP in their Y-chromosome DNA which is rare in Asia. If you do some research online, you will find some interesting facts.

@@tcr2779 とても気に入りました。しかし、理由があるので、最初にこの旅行をしなければなりません。でも、天気が良くなくても、それでも素敵だと思います。Arigatou Gozaimasu!.
That stream was for mediate. Imagine if focus but water hitting your head.
A long time ago in Japan, there was a time when Shintoism and Buddhism were mixed.
I am impressed by what you are trying to see and the scenery you have burned into your mind !

Didn't you go see it on the bridge? Water rushes over the bridge
Surprised you didn't go up to Fushimi Inari shrine.
I did. Didn't it vlog it though
Try udon with chili next time!
It is usually found on the table. If you can't find it, ask the waiter, " Ichimi dore? (where is chili?)"
After a while the temples around Japan all look too similar
The reason why you see a shinto shrine in a temple is here.
