    Mahindra sells a solid product for sure. What tractors or components they don't manufacture themselves come from TYM... so it is really hard to go wrong with Mahindra. One of the reasons why the RK55 from Rural King is high on, if not on top of, my list of likely candidates for my next tractor is that it's a TYM tractor with a Yanmar engine and just loaded with standard features. For considerably less than a similarly equipped TYM... Great info Brock - thanks for sharing! 🤠

    • @EOTG_AK
      @EOTG_AK Рік тому +4

      I’d take the TYM engine over just about anything now. It’s a Cummins A series industrial engine and they are about bulletproof. Cummins partnered with Kukje to develop and produce that engine and Kukje got the rights to sell it under its own brand as well. Kukje was purchased by TYM several years ago and started implementing the Kukje power plant into their tractors. Now the Kukje name is retired and the engines are branded TYM A1700 or A2300.

    I have spent some time on my uncles 2018 Mahindra 1533 shuttle. I believe it’s the same tractor with less horsepower. I actually built some pallet forks for it last week and did some maintenance on it. That’s certainly a stout tractor. He and I got on both ends of a 3000 pound table and moved it with our tractors a while back. I have the 3038E with 500 pound wheel weights and 1000 pounds hanging off the back. He only had a tiller on the back and my tractor actually did better than I expected. I built an 85 pound loader lifting tool just for that project though so that helped me too. He was lifting with his bucket.

    This Mahindra DOES have a DOC (diesel oxidation catalyst) & a continuous DPF ( diesel particulat filter) & common high pressure fuel injection computer controlled = no paticulate burn-off interruptions, BECAUSE its Continuous. The CRD "system" saves fuel, meets EPA requirements,& is Quiet. The "DEF" fluids don't even have be to "discussed" for ANY tractor under 70 horsepower ,because it doesn't "Exist " for Compact Tractors! The 25-26 hp( & under) units use the 1970's style of "diesel-lating" technology of Clanging-banging, belching smoke,& guzzling fuel. Its a good experience to experience "other" tractors.Thank you for the Excelent vidio and happy safe tractoring. Best wishes with all your endeavours.

    The tractor we bought 2.5 years ago now lists for $10k more, a 25% increase. Its hard to compare the grey brands with old pricing. The compact nh and jd machines are 3rd world built, same as the grey brands. Our reasoning for sticking with a name brand was parts and dealer support, but covid made parts unobtainable for even nh.

    • @aplante
      @aplante Рік тому +1

      That is false unless you consider the state of Georgia as a third world country. NH compacts are made by LS in South Korea which is not a third world country.

      @ricksanchez7459 Рік тому

      @Alexandre Plante You have to be careful from model to model. We have a 25hp open station Ls, an s3010 it has been a good tractor for the money we paid for it. Reverse gear rides on skateboard sized bearings at the top of transmission. If you dont overfill the trans, reverse gear can run dry. Atleast there is an access plate so you dont have to split the tractor to put new bearing in. A buddies mahindra(made suspiciously similar) had the same issue. The frontend on it had a plastic breather that allowed water into front axle. All gears are spur cut and will drive you nuts raking and teddering. But it has a mitsubishi motor, that coupled with the $12,000 price that sold us on it. We would not purchase another one at the current prices. We would go straight to Kubota.

    • @aplante

      @@ricksanchez7459 A tractor can be made in a developed country and show inadequate engineering or poor craftsmanship. It's simply false to say that John Deere and New Holland tractors are made in third world countries.

      @Alexandre Plante It's a figure of speech for countries not known for their manufacturing prowess, but most people can figure out that's what I meant. Order parts for most of those budget machines, they will say a country that rhymes with PRC or worse. Turkey isn't known to be a great manufacturer and thats where the majority of parts for the workmaster series are made. Some parts are german and italian on it. It is a budget machine, we would not buy another at current pricing.

I bought my eMax 20s hst, with loader, hoe, snowblower, and snowcab for 27k two years ago and thought I got a good deal! Anywhose, there's a lot of value in buying a non green or orange tractor if you have good dealer support. Great video Brock. A good friend of mine has (I believe) a 38hp Mahindra and loves it; all though now he wishes he bought it with a cab. At 78 years old he can't tolerate the cold these days. He settled on Mahindra due to price and the "no regen" aspect. I know in my comment to your Summit video it may have seemed like I am not a JD fan these days but that is not true. I still believe that JD, Kubota and Yanmar would be my short list of good tractors (and companies - New Holland also). In my other post I simply tried to explain my view that over a few decades that a company's corporate philosophy, parts and materials sourcing and other business decisions will change over time and that is due to money and stockholders expectations on returns. Having said that I do believe there are several good quality tractor brands out there today besides my top three (Mahindra, TYM, RK - possibly LS, Branson, Kioti and others, maybe Summit). Obviously in a purchasing decision you have to factor in the dealer/service network, company longevity and parts availability. Mahindra has been around a ling time and I believe pretty solid.

      @RockhillfarmYT  Рік тому +5

      Yeah, I still like John Deere. I was really intrigued by Yanmar
      It’s also really tempting to save a lot of money on a tractor purchase with one of these less expensive brands.
      I think the better these newer, smaller companies do the more pressure it puts on the big brand
      For these videos I try to just cover the positives and a little bit of the negatives to have a good conversation about it. I also like it when I can get someone who has ran the machine for a long time to give their thoughts on it as opposed to me after one use

    Dealer support is one of the big things for us. Kubota and John Deere are really the only 2 around here that I know of. The other thing is what is available for the tractors like a front snow blower, cabs, front snowplows that doesn't go on a loader frame. It is not what is the best but what someone can afford or what works for them.

      So true, So Strue.
      I'm pretty much sold on older green ( JD ) and blue ( NH ) and have looked at Mahindra which btw is the largest tractor dealor in the world . If I bought anything else new or used, it would be orange as in a Kubota ;) that would be beat any tractor on the market in my state for parts, dealers location and they make a damm good product.
      Mahindra dealers pretty sucks in my area. Mosts have back orders on parts and the dealer really do not want to deal with you if you do not want to buy their package-deal.
      I'll give you a example, I have Mahindra dealer 19miles away from me. They took almost 3 weeks to draft me a quote for a 4wd 1640. Yes sir 3 weeks because I didn't want to buy their stupid package and then nearly quote as much as the pkg ( I have a fleet of attachments and do not need a trailer fwiw ) WTF. They made me test drive the damm thing like for every to convince me I need it and with all of the cheap put together attachments.
      We looked at that tractor for a few things btw, it was one of the near 40hp non-Turbo 4x4 tractor that weighs in under 4k with no DPE or DEF or other expensive things to deal with.
      With that said, everybody that I knows has Mahindra has nad no issue except one person and it was the split and leaking plastic tank that took 4 months to get the parts in and he end up going out of pocket since he couldn't wait and got a used tank from Billy Tractor in Adkins TX. Again we both live near a Mahindra dealer that's less than 20miles away. That's just sad all the way around.
      Give me a Kubota any day of the week and I have 4 kudota delaer between 25-60 miles away. Almost everything in my rural area is painted with Orange. Me and my neighbor across the way have NewHolland and she also has a Orange ;)
      Mahindra IMHO are good for 1st time buyers who do not know or never had a tractor. The package are enticing for those types who has a truck with a hitch and drawbar ;)

      We presented all the information I have at the start of the video. That’s not my tractor. It was purchased by the other guy in the video at a local dealership in Kansas.
      The prices would no longer be accurate because it was purchased several years ago

      This is a "Class-act" not so small tractor & can "beat to death" JD 2038R ALL DAY & All YEARS LONG, because its a 3800lb (raw tractor) built ( rebadged) by TYM.

    Mahendra is ranked number one in the world. John Deere is second and there’s quite a few other brands too but the roll after those two.

      I test drove one in a collaboration with Tonys Tractor adventure UA-cam channel. Nice machine although his was open station.
      I think that’s also the same model Daniel Arms had when I recorded with him and it was a cab machine. We were running the flail mower on it

    54,000 for your set up. I couldn't spend that much for that.

      I hear you. To be fair for that price I got the trailer and about six attachments, including the backhoe.
      I still think it might be over priced but the 2038 hour I showed a couple weeks ago was 74,000 for the full package. Crazy, huh?

    I'm not sure how I'd feel operating these compact tractors, I'm used to 60+ horsepower. My riding lawnmower is 26 HP!

    I have never seen an advantage to the pricing of a Mahindra, Branson , Montana tractor. Any time I have priced them out I have just laughed at the salesman. I have seen Branson and Mahindra taken on by car dealerships. Said car dealerships are now out of business and there is zero product support here in southern Montana. A couple years ago I saw some off beat name like the ones above being represented by a Harley dealer. Each time price is too close to a legit tractor such as Case or Deere and the knowledge of car dealers and support is nothing but laughable. In the end its not all about money to me its about can I call someone and get support or parts.

      If you have a solid dealer then I guess I would take a look at one of these brands. If your dealer is shaky I would run like hell

    Having been a Mahindra owner my experience with service is that……. It was truly terrible with my dealer. I had a warranty issue that took them 9 months to resolve…. The whole time I had NO TRACTOR to use.

    • @RockhillfarmYT
      @RockhillfarmYT  Рік тому +4

      That would be so frustrating. I have this thing to use it. Seven months is a long time.
      One trend I’m noticing is that most people say that about getting support from their brand. I’ve heard it about several different manufactures.

    • @genewilliams7497
      @genewilliams7497 Рік тому +2

      Yes service with the newer brands is an issue. The best is service is by far John Deere, Case/NH and AGCO which is Massey. They’ve all been in the market longer that anyone else. I actually had an AGCO regional factory Rep call to discuss a minor sensor issue I was having on my newly purchased Massey 5711 Dyna 4 tractor and my Massey dealer gave me all their cell numbers to call if I had any issues on weekends. I believe your dealer is everything when the equipment is of the best quality as with the big three above.
