@Derrick Howard thanks so much for your reply. I found the site thru google and I'm trying it out now. Seems to take a while so I will reply here later with my results.
Hey there, I'm considering doing the 3sgte swap into my 6th gen but it's also my daily driver atm and I'm wondering if it's worth it in that case? Any reliability issues? My cars still at relatively low mileage (136k), I just want to be able to pull onto freeways quicker and pick up more speed on straightaways lol
A gen 4 3sgte would be a great power boost to the car. It is a stock turbocharged engine with Toyota quality. I just have a couple things to think of. Ensure you get a quality engine that has not been run into the ground. Do an engine refresh like I talk about in one of my videos (timing belt, water pump, oil seals, etc.). Keep the engine stock with a stock ECU but you will need a boost, afr, and oil pressure gauge. Lastly, expect the car to be down for a month to do the swap because you have to send the wiring out.

@@r.a.w.performance6602 just wanted to unnecessarily add, you can buy another harness from the junkyard and send that out, and refresh the motor while that’s being done at wiregap or wherever you choose to go.
Love the videos man, I have a JDM import 1994 Toyota Celica ST202 the 3sfe. Would I be able to straight swap minus trans? I have a gen 3 3sgte with ecu loom etc and I was wondering if there would be any modification to the mounts etc.
I have only done a 5sfe to 3sgte swap but I would imagine that the 3sfe to 3sgte would use the same motor mounts as well. I believe your car also uses the s54 transmission which will bolt directly to the 3sgte.
@@r.a.w.performance6602 Oh yo sweet as yeah nah people have been telling me different things. Also its the 4speed auto not the 5 speed manual (Pretty Sure its a S54 anway) but im chucking a E153 as its built for a turbo engine.
@@FroshHei I have never done an auto to manual swap on this type of car. The rear engine mount bolts to the transmission and I believe that is different on a E153. Also, you will need custom axles for the E153 in a Celica since it never came in that car. I know some shops make the axles but I am not sure where.
@@r.a.w.performance6602 Ive looked into the swap on forums and have purchased everything I need. My mate has done the same trans swap into his ST202 and said I needed specific mounts so I got the dimensions and everything to CNC a mount. I have a celica with the 7afe and i’m just wondering is it actually pretty unrealistic to swap the 3sgte/sge in? If so are there any other swaps I can make for some more power?
The 3s is not an easy drop in for a 7afe car. The motor mounts and transmission is different. I am not too familiar with the 7afe options. I am thinking either a silver/black top 4age or turbocharge the 7afe.
The ECU is a straight plug in play since anything non Engine related is running off a BCM and not the ECU right? I can't get any good forums or anything but I contacted Dr.tweak a while back and he said the same I believe...I need help with mine I got a 99 GT and have the 4th gen
The stock ECU is plug-n-play if you get your wiring done by Wiregap or one of the other companies I recommended. This car is running a MS3PRO EVO which needs some additional wiring work done.
@@Evan-ce1hw Beams has that vvti cam gear that starts ticking and goes bad so they all have their issues. Get the turbo rebuilt, replace all the seals, and it is plenty reliable.

Hey I am buying celica next week but i want to swap 3sge to 3sge beams is it hard to do i want to have vvti and then later to turbo that or something like it. But i cant really find anything on internet about that swap. Thank you
Got to 6gc.net and do a search. There is some good info up there. Screenshot whatever you find because sometimes the site goes down. The swap is similar to mine just make sure you get the red or grey top BEAMS. The dual VVTI black top will not fit in the engine bay.
From what I have read it is the same as long as your gen 5 has a 5sfe. The only difference is I hear if you stick with the top mount intercooler it will not fit under the hood of a 5th gen. Also, the s54 transmission on the gen 5's are weaker. They only have single syncos instead of dual. Not a big deal, just can't shift it as hard.
From what I have seen. It is easier to get GT to do this swap. With a ST you will need new motor mount locations, body harness, GT transmission, and GT engine for some of the other accessories. I do not have any experience doing a 3sgte into a ST. If I were ever to get a ST, I would want to do a silver or black top 4age swap instead.
@@r.a.w.performance6602 i apréciate the reply back sorry for the really late notice I had been thinking about that too do you happen to know any other things I would need for that ?
Ah it’s to bad the ST isn’t plug in play like the GT. I’m just gonna take mine to TCS Motorsports. Also RIP celica. Whoever has it better be ripping it
Yes it is possible but requires a lot of fabrication because the motor mounts are different. I am also guess there will be complications with the electrical.

Would putting in a 2nd gen 3sgte be the same process on a 6th gen celica gt ?
Putting it I would be the same but the electrical would be different because it uses a distributor.
Hello why do you have to send off the two harness?
That is what the wiring company needs to have all the plugs needed to fit the 3sgte motor to the Celica.
Can you use 3sgte harness that comes with the motor???
So my ST cant be swapped ?
It can but there will have to be a lot of modification to the chassis for the motor mounts and you will have to source a S54 trans.
How much power did you pull ? How much did you sell it for ?
