59-year-old ex vintage trader Jan needs some help clearing and decluttering her flat. It's got so out of hand she can't even see let alone use most of her furniture. We also see Kerry who needs the Hoarders SOS help. She has moved house 20 times, which has led to carrying things from place to place. She has endless amounts of clothes that have just never been worn and her 9-year-old daughter is seeing firsthand how out of control things have got. Hoarders SOS Ep 13

I appreciate the kinder feel of this program. I have watched several American hoarding shows and became more and more tense as I watched. I like how laid back these British programs are and I love that the hoarder is worked with instead of bullied. And yes, I am an American.
I'm an American too and this show has myself and Gordon Ramsay vomiting porridge on the front sidewalk!

I've never seen a Hoarding show where the crew bullies the Hoarders; but, I've only watched "Hoarders" - maybe you've seen something else.

It’s funny because I keep thinking, American hoarders are on a whole different level, LOL. Yes, I too am American.
It may be so, no bullies, but some of these items are sold for much too cheap. They take things to a market. The last place where one should go. Put them on line, the real collectors and buyers are out there. They do not go to markets.

Exactly, just moved this week. So much stuff has gone. I am rather good in giving things away.

I love these type of shows. Especially this one because it's more cheerful and not so pushy about people getting rid of all their things.
The us one goes in when all other options are exhausted, condemnation, mental and medical deterioration etc

I think there is no "US version" actually, but two different shows. This one is HOARDES SOS and the other one calls just HOARDES. P.S.: in my opinion the most depressing are Extreme Cleaning and Grimefighters cause they deal with crime scenes and deep depressed people's house cleaning.
My sister had a yard sale and it was just random junk...she made like almost 1000 dollars. Guys, garage sale is the way to go.

I agree. She's done well, however, she has a LONG WAY to go. Her living room as well.
Jans "clutter free" living room is still too cluttered as is her bedroom. She still has a long way to go. I hope she keeps doing it.
Progress, not perfection is the way to go. There is still a lot of clutter but things have improved!
Mid-century modern is SO popular right now. They could sell that record player and vanity easily!
Watching this show makes me feel better about my own home to be honest. I'm a bit of a hoarder too and messy but at least it's organized and you can walk everywhere and use all the furniture. 😉
I am sorry to say but Janes bedroom! I had such high hopes. I thought it was going to look soooo much better then it did, disappointed I be... There was still was waaaaay to much mog-pog of things crammed in there. An okay fine if you still want to keep all that, that's fine but it definitely could have been organized a lot better then what it was, or lack of for that matter, lol...

Makes me sick that those chest of drawers went for so little. They should have sold for double or a bit more then dbl. Someone got a great deal and will probably resell them and make a profit.
Them walking past the plastic bag blowing at their feet in the first few minutes annoyed me the entire show lol
The lady to whom he selled the suitcases: she said that she thought that the table suitcase alone was worth between 25$ to 75$, so I am certain that he could have easily sold it all for 75$. He could have said that 75$ was a good deal and then said that for that price he would gladly include the smaller suitcase in the deal! He really doesn't seem to try to have the best price for the stuff he sells... 🤔

I always feel like these shows - that they get almost nothing for the people's used things...as if nothing is worth anything to speak of - whereas if they just sold them at a place like Ebay they'd get more.
The recordplayer and cost of rewire... people who are into these kind of vintage electronics and mechanics are often fairly skilled and able to fix these themselves.

CURTIS WITH ALL YOUR EXPERIENCE WHY DO YOU TAKE ITEMS TO DEALERS? WHY? (THEY OFFER THE ROCK BOTTOM PRICES) "should I be pushing you for 30 pounds or should I be asking for more?" Curtis is the worst antique dealer I've seen ever! I bet this show has been off the air for 10 years - it doesn't even deserve to be on UA-cam!!!!!! The sad part is I bet Curtis earned more money from being on the show than the hoarders earned by selling ALL of their possessions.
I like the motivation this show gives me when I watch it while folding the mountain of clothes of my family 😆

Carrie did well, however, she needs an interior decorator for her bedroom.
It's a start! Still way too much for that size flat.225 is nothing compared to what she could have made if she sold all, or even some, of her nice clothes.

@@cameleonfleuri I've noticed that about these shows. They sell things at incredibly low prices. Garage sales or ebay would get them a lot more it seems. Though to be fair, I've not finished watching this one - but I've watched several of this kind from the UK. seems like their stuff is never worth anything. But prices in the UK are quite high - so seems like a boot sale or yard or garage sale would get them more.
@@beckypetersen2680 Yes, esp. if they have the patience and time for it. They often go to adealer who needs to factor in his/her own share of the potential pricethat can be asked of a customer. If the lady in the shop offered 30 for both brooches then she naturally expected to get 40 - 60 for them.

❤️❤️❤️ watching these shows. My mother was a hoarder and I'm determined to not go there. She was a clothes hoarder. She placed more value in things rather than friends and family. At the end of her life hardly anyone came to her funeral. No one has fond memories of her or misses her.

Sounds awful. Was she so bad nobody had any good memories? Was she so bad all her life? When she was a young mother? What was her teenage years like? 🌸
At least put your clothes on hangers and bags/shoes organized. It's not that difficult.
For some it is. Clean bathroom and kitchen is important for health.

I get so annoyed with some of the Hoarders. I too had clothes which I sold and made a lot of money. Her clothing still had the tags on.

Is it just me or is everything cheaper in the UK? These people seem so happy about $20 or $40. What? Who cares about $40? And I’ve only seen a couple things on here sell for more than a couple hundred “quid”. Maybe a move to the UK is in order and I’ll bring my American funds lol

Different currency, pounds is a form of money in UK/ Britain

Pounds to them is like dollar to US, but the exchange rate is different.
I feel like this show is scripted
Curtis not everything has to have an "intrinsic value", call anything needs is to have regular value and then sell it. Try some boot sales. Who's putting out the real effort, work men that you never see on camera? This show seems a little phony to me.
