It's every minimalism enthusiast's dream to see that all organised, downsized and clear of cluttee and to keep only what is valuable and important in plain sight, not in storage. I love this lady.
I don't remember what show it was, but a lady had a few pieces of her grandmother's silverware. It would be worth several hundred dollars, but she and her cousins used them to dig in the garden, where most were burred. The sentimental value was pricless.
Jillian is now called a antiques lover not appraiser. She don't know anything about antiques or collectables. Where are the guys who knew what they were looking at?
I love this show. Americans need a show like this too! I would never pay for long term storage. Glad they were able to downsize and find the best to display and use instead of just letting it stay in the dark sucking money.
Poor fella who lost his mum and dad and his cold hearted fiancée is only interested in getting more money for the wedding. That’s one day of your life... let the man have his memories.
We have a storage unit in north Florida for about 12 years bc we're in the middle of the Florida Keys....hurricanes were a scare, but after hurricane Irma in 2017..we lost everything in imour house, but our expensive collection and memories survived in that storage unit.....but I get it....its a lot of $$$ 16,000 so far for us...its $111.13 a month! And I've never missed a payment....also its 8 hours from us.....😳
Quispy Queen That's actually a savvy idea. I bet you pay a lot more for homeowners insurance, and that doesn't actually preserve your valuables, only pays you two bits if destroyed.
I am curious what is in your storage unit? Are the items just sentimental or actually worth 16,000? If they are photos I would store them digitally too. Storage units can have damage too. I knew of a person’s unit infested with rats and everything was destroyed. If anything go check on your things and see how that are yearly and evaluate their condition. :)
@@shellbell2272 it's not really anyone's business, but no not photos...and monetarily worth way more than $16,000...mainly family collectables...porcelain, old glass, and lots of other personal things....its also in an air conditioned building. You have to walk through 2 hallways to get to it...no rats, or anything like that. And we have a friend up there that checks on it now and then....but like I said, after losing everything of value and sentiment to a cat 5 hurricane 2 yrs ago.. and also our house burned down 1/18/97 (22 yrs ago) so to lose everything a second time really was hard 😔...slept in a tent in our driveway for almost 4 months! But knowing our most dearest things are safe in that storage unit made it worth it...trust me.. And especially when you cant carry house insurance bc it's so damn expensive here in the Keys....we have it now bc FEMA makes you get it...I don't know why I'm defending myself, lol...it was the best investment we've made. ✌
@@cristinarnold I think you're "smart as the dickens" to take steps to protect your things this way; and my gosh girlfriend, I applaud your resilience through it all. No need to defend yourself to me or anyone else; we all make decisions as best we can, depending on the circumstances. Part of what I like about these shows in fact, is that it gives me a bit of insight into people's inner workings and thought process; which I can only hope broadens my empathy and willingness to approach things in an open minded way. Quite likely I suspect, ShellBell was only expressing her curiosity much as I might; as your initial post does draw the reader in, and perhaps want to know more. Sorry the container is so far away; it would be so much nicer if it were easier to take things home "on loan" so to speak; then things like gran's gravy dish and mom's jelly dish, could get out a couple times a year to be enjoyed.
Why is storage so damn expensive in that country? In the US I had half a house worth of stuff stored for an entire year and then had it shipped over 1,000 miles and in total I paid less than these people do for a few months.
Everything is expensive here a bag of takis is £5.99 and I love those Arizona drinks you guys have. They even say 99c on the can I pay £2.99 for one 🤣🤣
Why do you use the clip of the woman talking about her dead cat's ashes as an example of people "taking their hoarding too far"? It's literally a picture of her cat and a box with her cat's ashes. Pets are very special to a lot of people, it's normal to want to keep that kind of stuff.
Mallory the actual episode. The lady explained that the cat’s ashes were spread into a grave of her husband’s plot. She kept the empty box so that was just impractical. Plus she had a beautiful picture of the cat to remember her by better. :)
I swear every episode of this show is “I spend 2500 pounds a year on storage and this 100 quid I make at auction will be such a TREMENDOUS help towards this vacation I’ve never had the money for.” I’m not saying it technically isn’t, but with people that mismanage their budget that badly, you’re not going to tell me they weren’t going to be on that holiday anyway.
Fiancée needs to back off. It’s his stuff left to him by his parents. Nothing to do with her. Weddings are 1 day and not a lifetime of memories which is in the storage, left to the SON. not the fiancée to sell and spend
Unfortunately the hair stylist missed helping her with her style this day. It looks dirty and poorly kept which is a shame with the beautiful colour she keeps.
Morse code - he says only boys know about that. How awful, how sexist. I am a girl and I was as interested in morse code as a child as any boy. Did he have sexist parents?
People have actual problems to deal with and real lives to lead, and no time for politically correct bullsh*t created by people who have too much time on their hands. Get a life, honey.
OK. This is a faked show. Near the end when they say that he sold Guitar parts and shows the orange looking one that is in parts, it was the exact same one as another of the show that had a guy selling his stuff.
I love that the auctioneer playes with the big boy toys
Thank you so much for uploading this series. I enjoy it immensely.

Yes yes yes and those too who are not minimalists as one defines as 🙂
My cousin had 7 drawfuls of all neatly laid out of Corgi cars with all the boxes in pristine condition He sold the lot for thousands.
A wedding is only a few hours of one day. People spend far to much money on them.
That’s actually so true *claps*
Too true. Also some couples focus so much on the wedding they forget to prepare for the marriage
Hallelujah 👏
The wedding industry here in the States achieved wretched excess a long time ago. The money people spend is ridiculous.

some of us americans have attics and sheds gor stuff like this so we don;t turn it into bedrooms.

Idk man he seemed pretty enthusiastic with getting rid of the stuff on his own. You can still have the memories without needing to keep everything
I couldn’t agree with you more.
Doesn't bode well for the couple.
That lady needs to help me sort through my things.
Bith men are good looking, but I think Lee is gorgeous. He has the most beautiful smile and happy eyes. Plus, being a musician doesn't hurt. ♡♡
Can't help but notice the Split EnZ stuff the musician owns - cool!
I don't think Paul has ever chopped a chilli before!
Clearing my parent's home right now, I would never do what he's done. It just needs to go!
Nobody want's that horrible old, worn 1950's furniture either. We are the same sort of age, but he is stuck in the past.

Maria Selepak exactly! I started with 1 storage which was meant to be for 6 months max. 3 years on I now have THREE 🤣😂

buy a storage stock

Aggie has a great wardrobe.
That's some deep storage.
Prince should be included in your hall of fame and Joe Bonamaasa
Holy hairdos Batman! 🥳

I wish there wasn’t all these dead areas in the tape,Minutes of blackness that you have to fast forward to and then get hit up by a lot more ads
If you don't want to be annoyed with ads, skip right to the end. Than, replay the video; which gets rid of the ads.
lol ... I’m such a nosy person too.

notice she was referred to as an 'enthusiast', not an expert.
Unfortunately the hair stylist missed helping her with her style this day. It looks dirty and poorly kept which is a shame with the beautiful colour she keeps.

Yes! As a child I would've loved to learn morse code and still would. My cousin and I, use to make up secret alphabet codes.

And both he and his wife need to dress more age appropriately.
