I wish they just let any winner in that wanted to play. Like this was a legendary scenario. I mean you know there would have been a few that just didn't/wouldn't want to. So what if you have 25 or more. Make an exception for this one season.
But that ignores their budget. They have to pay for each player, build challenges, etc. and when you add more people, the cost of that goes up. Along with that, Survivor only had a certain time slot it’s allowed to take up on the CBS channel, so adding more people means adding more episodes, or at the very least making the episodes longer, both which costs $$$ that I’m not sure Survivor necessarily has. There’s logistics to why they’ve capped at 20 players and don’t plan on having more.

To be honest I think Michelle is a great player but extremely underrated and still has a ton of controversy after winners at war so I would love to see Michelle play again to prove herself because she still has a great shot at winning again because she’s extremely strong and I think can play the underdog role and the top dog role because she’s been in both positions before

Not casting Vecepia on WaW is a crime imo, for one she's one of the most influential winners in the franchise's history as she was a big factor in flipping Neleh and Paschal and inventing the floater game where she was consistently not considered someone to take out until it was too late, plus just the use of her luxury item to game the final 4 immunity challenge, absolutely brilliant. Then secondly, just the fact that she's the first person of color to win the game and doing so as the second woman to win the game is very impressive, especially on a mostly white cast during a time where we weren't having the nuanced conversations we have about racial bias today, which we see in one of her earliest scenes on the season where she and Shawn talk about how they have to play a completely different game from the other players because of their race.
I know this is very late, but I just wanted to note that she is not only the first person of colour to win the game, but the first POC women to win a reality game show at all (I might need to double check that stat tho)

Rewatching that final immunity challenge in S27, I was struck by how helplessly Tina was flailing about. It hurt to watch. She had clearly aged out of the game. Bringing her back six years later, and especially sticking her out on the Edge, would just be cruel.

And remember, she’d have been even older for S40, and faced with far harsher conditions. She would have given it her all but I worry she just couldn’t have taken the strain and would have worn herself out (like how she never stopped doing what little she could to make it through that obstacle course in S27 even as she fell farther and farther behind). I’m thinking you’d get a situation like the mercy killing of Rudy in S8, one of the show’s saddest ever. Except in this case the attempt at a mercy killing would just leave her stranded on the Edge.
Also Tommy being on winners at war would have spoiled the winner of island of the idols Chris Underwood from edge of extinction might have spoiled that season too

I actually don't think a Todd return is entirely out of the question. I don't know if you saw this, but he was recently on Talking with T-Bird and if I remember correctly, he said CBS contacted him not too long ago basically asking if he's gotten all his shit together. They seemed pleased that he said yes. I have quite a bit of hope in regards to him returning.
This might be unpopular but I am very interested to see another Michele return! I think she is the person currently in Survivor history that is the most likely to do well upon another return and can possibly make a 3rd Final Tribal Council appearance! I'd love to see her play again, especially after being an underdog for 2 seasons, but now come in and finally orchestrate a vote in the merge!
I would love a season full of players that never really got the chance to play because they were considered too much of a threat. The entire season would be a shield.
Even though it would be interesting to have Vecepia back I personally would’ve brought back Jenna instead. I think Jenna has a better story bc of what happened in All stars and is a much bigger character and a better winner. But that’s just my opinion on her. Great video!
I would put Earl, Vecepia, and Tina over Denise, Ben, and Amber. This allows for a ten vs ten with old and new school, but also adding in more diversity.

I would love a video on how WAW might have gone differently if the tribes were separated into old-school and new-school to begin with... I feel like it would have been pretty interesting, and I think some iconic winners would have stayed in the game much longer....
What would the cutoff be though? HvV? And how would you count Rob and Tyson who technically won in a "new-school" season (More Tyson than Rob), but first played in an old-school season?
I think you'd have to seperate it into the oldest ten winners that were chosen in one tribe and the ten most recent in the other....As for some of those like Tyson and Rob, you would count the season they won on, it is a winner's season after all....

My only problem with this cast, is that you seem to be heavily influenced by nostalgia. You didn't feature anyone from season 35-39, and had there been more female winners, I wouldn't be surprised if you left off Sarah and Michele. It would be very weird to me to have a cast that didn't feature anyone from seasons 32 and beyond.

This is probably the first video on the channel I agree 100% on practically every pick. The fact we didn't have legends who clearly want to participate again like Rich and Tina was insane! And winners like Earl, Todd and Vecepia who I'm not sure would play again but I'm 100% sure should have been locks for a cast like this... I'm not entirely disappointed by the cast? But there were a lot of "newbie winners" who could have easily been replaced. The one thing I might disagree with the video is Natalie White. 7:57 While I have complained about this cast while simultaneously have understood that realistically not everyone can make the cast unless they change the season format (which maybe they should have for this type of season). The only person I have a huge issue with not making the cast was Mike. Mike played hard, won all the immunities, didn't do anything inappropriate and was a recent winner, so there was no real reason to not include him. Mike alone not making the cast makes me feel that another season format and length should have been used, because Mike not making the cast was unjust.
I want natalie white to return so bad! She received so much hate that I really wanna see her prove herself to haters. And shes just disappeared so I want to see her!
Why was the winner of Survivor Vanuatu not considered? Survivor said that they wanted to represent all eras and that they wanted old school winners. Chris didn't walk around naked or previously do sketchy things. It appears that Chris was disliked be Jeff for winning a season where Julie was a contestant, and where he beat all the females, but man it feels like he should have had an invite to Winners at War.
6:24 from seasons 39-32 you only cast 1/8 winners, while the producers cast 6/8, invited one more, and couldn't cast one because the winner of his season wasn't revealed yet. It feels as if you have a bias against new seasons, but I understand that your mentality is that these newer winners could come back for another season like Game Changers, while the older winners wouldn't have that opportunity.
With the cast I can’t see them having cut Denise or Amber which is obviously an issue for having Tina back. Also going through the cast the only people who I could see them cutting would be Sophie or Danni just because they are both less popular winners who don’t have as memorable or iconic games. The reason they need Denise is because the “she went to every tribal council” story. Other than that you went through the winners so I think you understand the rest of them (and the Amber is obviously because Rob wasn’t coming back for all winners without her). I definitely think that Tina should’ve been on the season though and am disappointed that she wasn’t. In fact when I told my mom there was going to be an all winners season her first guess for the cast was Tina, so yeah Tina is pretty memorable and iconic.

I would put Brian on my cast over Ethan, but you’re right, he would be one of the first few boots. I honestly can’t ever see him playing again. I mean the cast members would obviously talk about his shooting a puppy and his racist comment back in Thailand. How awkward would that be to air on tv? “So Brian…I want him gone. He shot a puppy, he’s a sociopath”. “I want his racist ass out of here!”. Like how can you air that stuff? And even if they didn’t air those comments, just based on principle, nobody is gonna want him there. But if those two things never happened, and the most memorable thing about Brian was simply that he won Thailand, I say he dominates the season again in exactly the same way he did it before. Don’t underestimate what he can do, that dude is easily the best manipulator this show has ever seen.
I'm starting to not like Winners at War. Maybe not all 39 seasons can't be represented or represented fairly, and maybe some castaways shouldn't return (Hatch with naked stuff, Brian Heidik, Todd Herzog with alcoholism, etc.), but this still leaves ten other winners who weren't offered a spot that could have been offered one. This makes Winners at War like homecoming court, or something that's political or a popularity contest, with newer winners certainly getting the benefit of the doubt over older winners. The season is called Winners at War, not Our Favorite Winners at War, get what I mean? There's also the fact that the tribe swap screwed over winners from older seasons and the Edge of Extinction took up so much screen time. This season may be good as it is already but man does it leave stuff on the table and leave me wanting more lol

Didn’t Cochran also say he wouldn’t come back anyway for future seasons? So whether people want him back or not, that’s gonna be up to him personally. Gonna disagree in that I actually wouldn’t mind seeing Natalie White return so that we can actually see her gameplay than be edited out. Also while I would love to see Tina back again, the problem is that she’s too old now. She is losing her edge and even in Blood vs. Water I could tell she wasn’t in her prime and just barely keeping up.

I think you'd have to seperate it into the oldest ten winners that were chosen in one tribe and the ten most recent in the other....As for some of those like Tyson and Rob, you would count the season they won on, it is a winner's season after all....

My only problem with this cast, is that you seem to be heavily influenced by nostalgia. You didn't feature anyone from season 35-39, and had there been more female winners, I wouldn't be surprised if you left off Sarah and Michele. It would be very weird to me to have a cast that didn't feature anyone from seasons 32 and beyond.

@@58twright I like Jeremy, but I like Fabio more, so that’s why I have him. Vecepia makes my cast over Natalie A. because I wanted an even amount of old school and new school winners for each gender (5 old school men, 5 old school women, 5 new school men, and 5 new school women).
You didn’t have to add Vecepia if you didn’t want to just for diversity, that’s tokenism. But I would love to see her for other reasons

This is probably the first video on the channel I agree 100% on practically every pick. The fact we didn't have legends who clearly want to participate again like Rich and Tina was insane! And winners like Earl, Todd and Vecepia who I'm not sure would play again but I'm 100% sure should have been locks for a cast like this... I'm not entirely disappointed by the cast? But there were a lot of "newbie winners" who could have easily been replaced. The one thing I might disagree with the video is Natalie White. Im not dying to see her play but I think character wise it would have been fun. Who knows. Maybe she uses the same strategy and wins again 😂

7:57 While I have complained about this cast while simultaneously have understood that realistically not everyone can make the cast unless they change the season format (which maybe they should have for this type of season). The only person I have a huge issue with not making the cast was Mike. Mike played hard, won all the immunities, didn't do anything inappropriate and was a recent winner, so there was no real reason to not include him. Mike alone not making the cast makes me feel that another season format and length should have been used, because Mike not making the cast was unjust.

Why was the winner of Survivor Vanuatu not considered? Survivor said that they wanted to represent all eras and that they wanted old school winners. Chris didn't walk around naked or previously do sketchy things. It appears that Chris was disliked be Jeff for winning a season where Julie was a contestant, and where he beat all the females, but man it feels like he should have had an invite to Winners at War.
6:24 from seasons 39-32 you only cast 1/8 winners, while the producers cast 6/8, invited one more, and couldn't cast one because the winner of his season wasn't revealed yet. It feels as if you have a bias against new seasons, but I understand that your mentality is that these newer winners could come back for another season like Game Changers, while the older winners wouldn't have that opportunity.

With the cast I can’t see them having cut Denise or Amber which is obviously an issue for having Tina back. Also going through the cast the only people who I could see them cutting would be Sophie or Danni just because they are both less popular winners who don’t have as memorable or iconic games. The reason they need Denise is because the “she went to every tribal council” story. Other than that you went through the winners so I think you understand the rest of them (and the Amber is obviously because Rob wasn’t coming back for all winners without her). I definitely think that Tina should’ve been on the season though and am disappointed that she wasn’t. In fact when I told my mom there was going to be an all winners season her first guess for the cast was Tina, so yeah Tina is pretty memorable and iconic.
I don't really like that your first move was cutting all of the newest winners. It's a part of the game that deserves to be represented.

I would put Brian on my cast over Ethan, but you’re right, he would be one of the first few boots. I honestly can’t ever see him playing again. I mean the cast members would obviously talk about his shooting a puppy and his racist comment back in Thailand. How awkward would that be to air on tv? “So Brian…I want him gone. He shot a puppy, he’s a sociopath”. “I want his racist ass out of here!”. Like how can you air that stuff? And even if they didn’t air those comments, just based on principle, nobody is gonna want him there.
But if those two things never happened, and the most memorable thing about Brian was simply that he won Thailand, I say he dominates the season again in exactly the same way he did it before. Don’t underestimate what he can do, that dude is easily the best manipulator this show has ever seen.

I'm starting to not like Winners at War. Maybe not all 39 seasons can't be represented or represented fairly, and maybe some castaways shouldn't return (Hatch with naked stuff, Brian Heidik, Todd Herzog with alcoholism, etc.), but this still leaves ten other winners who weren't offered a spot that could have been offered one. This makes Winners at War like homecoming court, or something that's political or a popularity contest, with newer winners certainly getting the benefit of the doubt over older winners. The season is called Winners at War, not Our Favorite Winners at War, get what I mean? There's also the fact that the tribe swap screwed over winners from older seasons and the Edge of Extinction took up so much screen time. This season may be good as it is already but man does it leave stuff on the table and leave me wanting more lol

Gonna disagree in that I actually wouldn’t mind seeing Natalie White return so that we can actually see her gameplay than be edited out.
Also while I would love to see Tina back again, the problem is that she’s too old now. She is losing her edge and even in Blood vs. Water I could tell she wasn’t in her prime and just barely keeping up.
Cochran couldn’t come back I believe cuz he worked for cbs in some capacity meaning it would be a conflict of interest.
