Unlike the comic book industry, gamers don't need a giant industry to force feed them shitty games. I'll happily wait for passionate small games by indie devs, it's mostly what I play if I really count the hours. As a kid, I loved getting suckered into the hype. Console wars, Halo vs Call of Duty, Sony's single player cinematic games vs XBox's edgy teenager games, all that shit was fun. Now they have a different spectacle, it's weird, full of political activism and no one likes it, so I'm back to my Blockbuster ways, playing games on discount on Steam store, dodging the entire console generation which has so far been a rip off, and only paying in full for games under $40. The couple major console releases I tried like Horizon were just mid, and I had a better graphical experience all the same on PC. Hell, I can see in a few years people preparing a "sexy mod" to clean these modern games' shitty character models up when the port hits. That's just the benefit of PC gaming, people make what they want to see in the game if devs won't give it. The entire "game industry" could melt down except for Steam and I'd be fine with it. I'd probably think we'd be better off if anything. More empty thrones for better kings.
I think you're misunderstanding why Ubi is delaying AC shadows. It's not to reduce the propaganda, the gaslighting or any of that bs. It's because they have too many unqualified people working in their studios who can't but make bug riddled games. The delay is to bugfix.
I agree. I also think that with their share holders wanting a hostile takeover and their employee union about to enforce a strike, they are thinking they may not be able to release the game. Ubisoft NEVER issues a refund to everyone. The most they'll do is offer digital compensation. They're saying that those who pre order it in what, 2/3 months, will get "extra content". Normally they would delay the game, give extra content as compensation and call it a day.

maybe it is just me but... i dont feel attacked or hurt, by what David Gaider said. Simple reason is: i have been playing dragon age sinds origins, mostly on console and just recently on pc, because i wanna get the achievments again. So i consider myself a fan and not a tourist. I have my own reason for not buying the new dragon age game and its not because of some hidden woke agenda. It looks more like a action adventure game, then a role playing game. Like a 2d side scroller beat'em up game, just in 3d, with a progress system, what feels lackluster. I call it lazy, because of their decision about making all the companions open to whatever choice the player might have, instead of taking their time to flesh them more out; something that Dragon age 2 got flag for back in the day and why we saw so many different preferences in inquisition. I get a better feeling of playing a role playing game with games like Darkest dungeon, because i have to consider who i am sending away, i need to consider the amount of space that i have for tools, potions and other thing, while also trying to see how much loot i get. I dont put all the blame on Bioware. EA is the biggest one, who are so used to live services and fail to see, that there is stil a market for a good single player game. I blame the media who is more then willing to focus on the woke agenda and wanna highlight those more, then anything.

There's always a narrative spin put on things or disingenuous arguments made that try to make gamers look bad and it just antagonizes people even more. Take Ghost of Yotei for instance. Most of us don't have a problem with a female protagonist, (Tomb Raider, Metroid, Horizon, etc have all been very well received and are beloved) but it just seems very "modern day" to just put a female character into something where there was a male before ("Put a chick in it..."). We've seen it over and over and over again and it's eye-rolling. It's so predictable and played out at this point. God forbid you express disappointment that Jin is not returning however because now that somehow makes you a misogynist or something equally stupid. SMH. I intend to speak with my wallet big-time going forward. There are too many games in my backlog to worry about the latest and greatest especially when I feel like the makers of these games hate me. Ubisoft is not delaying Assassins Creed to make it better. They're trying to make everyone forget about the controversy to make the game sell slightly better. What these AAA studios don't seem to understand is that smaller studios can make great games with a smaller budget and a whole lot more soul. The industry will not stop or slow down because of them. The money they were counting on will just go somewhere else.
