  • Dr. Richard Channick discusses the likelihood of a patient developing pulmonary hypertension following an acute pulmonary embolism. In one database study, the incidence was reported to be 8%, a higher number than expected. Recorded at the 2015 ATS annual conference.

    Thanks for the info. I have had three episodes of pulmonary embolism since 1988 caused by anti phospholipid syndrome. Now I have pulmonary hypertension that has just been diagnosed.im just trying to educate myself.

    You’re crazy if you think people want to get surgery to cut open their lungs and remove the clots. I can only imagine how many problems will result from that. When you can just let your body dissipate the clots naturally. In my case I got it from sitting still at a desk and working for 12 hours a day. So now I have a sit stand desk and a little Peteler machine under my desk and I’m on Eliquis
