Great review, J! I got it in the Pink color for men. I don't think I have another running shoe that has garnered so many compliments from other runners, when out running!
Your line that Saucony listens to customers is key! Nike had the Peg Turbo and the Zoomfly flyknit, along with Vaporfly and Pegasus. They took over the running market. In a few short years, the same market they dominated they now don’t. Saucony did the opposite. They keeping building on the endorphin speed. It’s the best all around shoe out there that can do it all. It’s also the budget super shoe. I like the changes and feel the shoe got better. It’s a little more stable, more bounce and a little softer. It’s not heavy either. It’s the work horse shoe for me. I do use the Pro, but on specific days and same thing for a couple other shoes. But the Speed 3 is the main shoe. For the price point, it’s hard to beat. Some people compare to the Mach 4/5, but that shoe doesn’t have the longevity and I don’t get the same push. It’s way better than the zoomfly. For some people I could see why they may want to get the Speed 2 and save money. I think the upgrade is worth it. It’s not as night and day as the Pro 3 versus 2. I’ll probably get 350-400 miles and some people can get a bunch more. It’s funny I used to have almost all Nike shoes now I just have the Vaporfly and alphafly and I don’t see that changing. For easy run days, I use the PrimeX (which I wouldn’t ever pay full price for) and my (older) Speed 2s.
Excellent review. You are bucking the trend by singing the praises of the Speed 3 over the Pro 3 but that goes to show that each shoe works differently depending on the individual. The original Speed is one of my favorite shoes and was the shoe I chose to run my first ever (and only) marathon to date. I only wanted to see if I could finish (not going for time) and I knew it worked well for my running style and I wouldn't get injured running in it. I'll be getting both the Speed 3 and Pro 3 but I'll probably wait till next year as I have way too many shoes at the moment. I'm curious from all the shoe manufacturers out there, which one do you think has the best upper for 1. races/speed work and 2. daily/long runs?
The speed 3 just worked better for me. I know that some prefer the pro but it’s really an individual preference which is why it’s tough just basing it on reviews. For uppers its tough since it’s just one aspect of the shoe. Most uppers feel really similar to me since they are mesh but for races I like the alpha fly with their Atomknit. Very breathable and form fitting although hard to get in at first. For daily I like the invincible run which makes me feel like My foot is wrapped in an air bag and the endorphin speed’s mesh. Simple yet effective. I would just swap out the laces. I dislike most adidas uppers since the plastic is way too rough.
Outstanding review! Thorough and informative. The Speed 2 is my everyday trainer. It just works for me. I do plan on picking up the Speed 3 when my Speed 2 are retired. Keep up the great reviews.
That's great information! I am going to Scheels to check Endorphin speed 3. I was going to buy Novablast 3 for my daily running shoe, but it seems it is worth checking out Endorphin Speed 3 as well.
It’s pretty good at slower speeds and with the plate not being carbon, it is more feet friendly than some other shoes. I have been using these for all types of runs lately and they can be great for beginners as a multi purpose shoe. It feels softer and more comfortable after some miles on them.
I did my research, and yes they increased the midsole width, thus providing more stability. I tested it side by side versus the Speed 2 which felt pretty wobbly, and didn’t feel that sensation. The Speed 2 made me feel like my ankle would twist at any time, and that they were way inside swinging in. Theres no support plate or any aid for overpronators but…even though Im a mild pronator, so this sole increase + the nylon plate work together to provide stability for me.

Thank you! Yeah it’s a nice looking shoe with great colors as well that stands out especially the pink.

Agreed. Nikes too worried about innovating or creating the next coolest thing and forgot about just making running shoes.

Thank you coach!

Speed 3 is better than the Novablast 3.
I would have to agree
Speed 3 is the bomb
How is the ride when running slow, 6 or 7minutes/km? Can it be used as a daily trained for a beginner running at the slow speeds mentioned?

@@RunWithJ Thank you for you comment and the review!
Thank you!
does the shoe feel stable. is there less pronation then 1 or 2?
Yes I would say so. I’m using it almost daily now since I like it so much.

I have it in black.. The shoe is amazing.
Love that color too and I agree!
