  • In this video I'm reviewing a follow focus unit from PDMOVIE. I do an unboxing and show you what accessories the follow focus comes with and how to use and mount it to your camera and lens.

    How good is this for manual focus pulling. I think if I got this, the LiDAR function would just be something I used from time to time. It seems to be lighter and more compact than non-wireless focus pullers.

      This system is very compact, yes. It is also really easy to use, don't have to mess with power cables and other stuff like that. It works really well for manual focus pulling, this is the version with no lidar, I am currently testing the version with lidar, video coming soon here on the channel.

      Yes, I think is has power to be used on a zoom. It sure has enough power to focus pretty much all the cinema lenses.

      If the focus wheel stops when rotating? Yes, it has hard stops at both ends.

    Do you have to calibrate every focal length on a zoom lens?

    • @RadianFilms64
      @RadianFilms64  9 місяців тому +1

      You can use two motors, one for focus and one for zoom if you want. It doesn't matter if you use a zoom lens, the calibration is the same like on any lens.

    Will it work on a lens that has no stops?

      Yes. It works but you have to manually setup the stops of the motor.

      Not on every lens...above 50 mm it struggles to find focus. A waste of money, do not buy!

      @@pelulici What do you mean? It has nothing to do with focal length. You might check the calibration.
