I've always been afraid to use glue but lately I've been considering it. I've had sew-ins but because my own hair is thick, course and grows fast, my new growth locks up at the roots so I lose a lot of hair during take down. I realistically shouldn't keep a sew-ins longer than 5 weeks but I can't afford to pay to get my hair done that frequently so I stopped getting sew-ins. I have made my own clip-ins before and they look great. I've been thinking of just wearing clip-ins or contemplating doing the glue because my hair is so thick under the braid down. I also don't like the fact that I can't get to my scalp and really clean my own hair with a braid down sew-in. After watching this video and reading this comment, I feel more comfortable using glue. It seems the sew-ins have the effect that I feared the glue would. A glue-in seems like it is something I can easily do myself and not have to spend a fortune getting a sew-in. It also seems like it would be easier to get to my scalp, take it down and wash my own hair every week and then put the glue-in back in. I think I will be doing a glue-in very soon!

Yea I want to do this to grow out my hair even more. I’m good with frontals but I’m not feeling them these days. Not natural enough bc in the end of the day, lace is lace, not scalp.
I used to use the 70%rubbing alcohol (soaking cotton balls and saturating the tracks) it breaks the bond instantly and would literally take less than 15 mins from start to finish to remove a whole head of tracks (I would run a fine tooth comb through my hair after slipping all the tracks off to make sure all the glue was out which it usually was) then I would immediately wash and deep condition my hair afterwards. P.S. You can also soak the tracks in the alcohol to clean the glue off so you can reuse the tracks.

wow. I never had a problem with hair loss from the black glue, but when I used oil to remove it the glue would turn into a liquid mess and I would have to soak it in oil and then wash it like 3 times to get all the glue out of my hair. Drove me crazy! I had no idea conditioner would work. I will have to do some mannequin head tests now lol
When I had my first weave, I used oil to take it out too and it was a hot mess, lol. But the next weave I had put in, I learned the method that Tierra does and it made a difference. :)
@@Michelle-pn9xt I first tried a weave when I was about 23 years old. I only wore it occasionally and the lady that put it in for me told me that I could use oil to take it out. Bad advice, It was a hot mess. I only wore weave a couple of times when I was young, but I didn't care for it. I am 52 now and I haven't worn weave in almost 30 years. :)
This is a video sent from heaven. I'm telling you fam. This is the first time I've ever had glue for my head and the stories had me scared. Thanks for breaking it down so easy that a beginner could follow. I appreciate you sis!
Thank you, all the way from South Africa, my hair is so thin in texture I was worried if it will be damaged, I used the conditioner and it slipped right out.. no hassle, no hair loss, am happy🤗thank you ❤
Tierra J, you are so right about using conditioner instead of oil to remove the glue. That glue and oil makes a mess and if any falls on cloth or carpet, it's impossible to clean. Newbies need to remember when choosing a conditioner for track removal, the conditioner needs to contain alcohol. Alcohol removes the surface tackiness and causes the glue to seize together on the track. It also keeps the glue from sticking to your on comb. In desperate times, I've used straight alcohol for removal, but prefer the added benefits that comes from using a conditioner.
Omg, I didn't know this was an old school thing. I started gluing my extensions 4-5 years ago. My hair started getting thinner and thinner every year, it's genetic. So I bought clip ins because the tape ins I got weren't full enough for my head. Mind you, at the time I was in Cosmetology school and they NEVER talked about hair extensions, all my school focused on was perms for the old ladies and blow-outs. That's it! Fine. So anyway, the clip ins were TOO thick for my head, they were 280 grams, and I'm naturally about 120-140 grams. I was UNEDUCATED about that subject, so I had to learn on my own as I went along. So one day I sat there frustrated and thought: is there another way I could wear these? And I took off the clips and noticed how the extensions had 2-3 rows. Me being the curious person that I am, I got my seam ripper(I also sew) and undid the extension and noticed I was left with a weft. I went to Sally's to get a bunch of bottles of glue..for eyelashes...and then I see it there, on the counter: Hair glue. I knew it was a sign from above that I could glue the extensions on my head. People say I'm crazy once they find out, but it is the only way I can feel comfortable, not to mention confident! Later on I started watching youtube videos and let me tell you, we owe the black community for ALL the hair extension methods out there! (And everything under the sun.) Now some people are out there talking about this new "hand-tied extensions" method, like girl, that's a sew-in!!! 👏👏👏👏
Fantastic job my sista! I have been using conditioner for removal as well and the key to not losing your edges is as you have said before is not take the wefts all the way to your edges! Leave your edges out so that it blends better and you can also wear a pony tail or your hair up without revealing tracks. Good job!
Girl I get the same kind of backlash when people find out I relax my hair. Lol like just because it doesn’t workout for you don’t mean I’m bald headed and don’t got healthy hair. By the way love your personality I’m a new subbie!
1) your hair is BEAUTIFUL! 2) I have been wanting to understand the different hairstyles for women of color. I’ve been asking my friends question about it. There is so much pride in hair and I love that. Your videos have helped me see those different hairstyles and I really appreciate them. Thank you so much!
Just added glued tracks for a quick style for the week and main suggestion never re glue on top of glue it cakes up.Once tracks start slipping just know it about time takes it down.I use this method and it works dont rush it take your time.I even apply the conditioner and let it sit for about 30 mins and they slide right out.
When I wore glued in weave back in the day, I used to pull out my hair trying to take it out. We used bond remover back then. Your hair look soo healthy! 😍😍😍
I think its important to remember everyone's hair is different There are so many factors that play a role diet, lifestyle, genetics, stress, overall health... she knows her hair and what it can handle and she also does a very good job with maintaining it to keep it healthy! Every hairstyle is not meant for every person and same goes for hair products and hair techniques. Find out what works you 😊
Thank you my hair is "texlaxed" and it's fine but long. I recently did my first pronto weave on myself and my grew like wild fire. B/c I didnt place any glue on my scalp/hair (I'm allergic to latex.) Where as on my 2nd one I went to a shop and she placed the tracks in the leaveout area where there was no shielding at all... Needless to say my hair and scalp are still recovering.
Poison same with me, when I do my on prontos I have no problems. the shop do them and lay tracks on my edges and make it to thick. I have a much harder time getting them out plus I always end up with a thin spot, that takes a couple months to recover from too. 😪
I had always had a beautiful, thick, long head of hair. But with age and a medical condition, my hair started thinning horribly--which is why I recently did my own glue in. I had quite an issue taking it out with oil--that a relative recommended I use. The oil was a mess--it got everywhere. Since I still had glue stuck in my hair--which is kinda long, I decided to find a video that would explain how to get it all out. The conditioner method works like a charm! Thank you! I enjoyed learning from you. You are very entertaining with a bubbly personality, beautiful natural hair, cute face, and you are thorough and to the point! I don't know why anyone would come for you with attitude--they must be jealous! 😏😉
Thank you for keeping it simple. I have gone back to natural. Only flat ironing for special occasions. Well tomorrow is double bday date night so yass I’m adding some length and gona flat iron. Can’t wait I literally had to go back and watch how we used to do. My hair was long for so long
I recently got a quick weave installed and the girl did a horrible job. Didn't know how to lay tracks down and didn't know how to cut. I'm about to take it down and redo it myself. Thank you for this video, it helps to know what to do when someone else messes up your hair. 😍🤗
Love this Video Sis!! I just tried it and it works!!! I Used my Blow dryer to heat up the glue with the conditioner on it for any spots that had a lil too much glue.. and glue was just sliding right on out!!
Such a great video! I'd also like to add if you do use oil and you get that crazy goopy consistency with the glue dishwashing liquid is really good to get it to come out. It lifts oil anyway on dishes, and after the glue is mixed in with the oil the dishwashing liquid grabs hold and lifts it right out. The glue changes to a weird consistency once you add the liquid, but it works. I know dishwashing liquid sounds awful, but if you do a deep conditioning treatment afterwards your hair will feel great! I've had the liquid glue neverending nightmare before lol.
This is the first time I had ever tried this glue and of course, I applied it directly on my scalp and I was very concerned what I was gonna do to get it off. but your video was absolutely perfect. I can’t believe how easy you made it look. you are so adorable, so cute. don’t mind them haters. you do you! great video.
I use glue all the time. I've always used oil, but you are absolutely right, so messy! Lol. I will definitely be using this removal method next time. Thanks, beautiful! Keep doing what you do. ❤
Hello! Could you recommend a glue for extensions? The one that you consider the best. I live in a tropical country and I sweat a lot. I need a catch that is really good. Help!
Preach. I'm 34 and been gluing my tracks on and off since I was 16 and my hair and scalp is fine. I actually start having thinning edges when I stated sew in's.
Noticed you trim mostly after a flat iron. Would you trim on a blow dry like this? I plan to trim on myself today using your videos but not sure I want to flat iron. It rains every other day where I live
Sis, can I ask that you point me in the direction of your install tutorial (if you have one) 🙏🏽 I'd love to know how you recycle your wefts after they've been glued in. I have disowned way too many bundles over the years because it seemed a real chore removing the glue from the tracks. Thanks in advance 💞
I don't recall taking much care to remove it glued in hair in my youth. Baby oil loosened it up but it was hella messy and in retrospect I should have used less on the tracks and not apply to the skin. I have a bottle of grow protect but haven't been brave enough to use it. Is there a way to get all of the glue off the wefts?
So my question is, since conditioner takes it out so quickly…. Can I not wash my hair when I have them in? I wanna know Bcus i want to go on vacation and get in the beach and pool
Yes Teirra! I bought the hair you used in this video, for a sew in that I'm going to do for my sister this weekend. Can't wait to see the end result. You have helped me so much. Keep up the great job. You are the best! I ordered the hair dryer and flat irons you use because I never really used a flat iron a lot. Girl you have inspired me so much. You make me wish I went to beauty school instead of the medical field I felt pressured from family & friends to do. I really wish I went into a field that I first had a lil talent for and had passion & love for. Hey it's never too late to learn. Love you girl! Hey in the first video for this hair you said you burnt the hair. What temperature was too high for this hair and what temperature do you recommend for this type of hair? Thanks!
This video gave me life! I love glue ins but my hair broke off because I wasn’t taken it out correctly! Definitely gonna try this! And your hair looks so thick and healthy. What do you put on it after you wash and blow dry it??
Might be a dumb question but after taking out those same hair extensions would you be able to reuse them? Only asking bc i tried making my own quick weave with a cap and didnt realize i messed up on the closure AFTER i had already cut the excess underneath the closure it was my first time. So im asking so i can find out wether i should just loose out on the money i already spent and just get new hair and start all over again :/
Tierra, is a professional fo real. But has a most simplified way of helping us w/ her ideas and care techniques. All the while YOU are soooo funny, hav me rolling. The most impressive thing is how u do this while the little ones are running around.. AMAZING MOM. THK UUUU
I don't care what all these people say I'm gonna bond my hair and remove it. I got really healthy hair strong hair and I'm on my 3 big chop because I will not tolerate anything but curl. I use to use that 60 second remover but I'm gonna put you on. Found it at Sally's it's the FUSION glue remover. Has some alcohol and some acetone and it removes it literally while you're still applying it. THEN I comb it out with a fine tooth comb and it's done. Shampoo with the 60 seconds recommended shampoo and that's it. I promise promise please try it. It's a white bottle with a light green label at Sally's right where they have everything for fusion and it's like $7 bucks
Very nice video. Love how you took the time to show step by step and the detail on the way you actually use the condition to take the weave out. Love it 👏😉❤
I just wanted to say I’m very much excited to see this video, with encouragement as I just did a quick weave that’s been in for almost two weeks and it was temporary as I have waited for the arrival of my lace frontal wig and I feel so much better going into the taking down process without experiencing the damage everyone cries wolf about ! Glad I subbed because somethings we do need help with!!!!!! 🙏🏾🌸
Breakage comes from yanking, snatching out, pulling out a glue in. I used to wear it years ago the old school way. I never had a problem with it. Soap, conditioner, a detangling comb helps removing it. When the glue gets old it comes out easy.

Happy Blessed New 2019 Gurl, I'm shook! That weave takedown was fantastic! And when you showed the comb, no shedding, I gasped! Unfortunately I'm allergic to wig/weave glues. But if I wasn't, Babay, it would be sooo on! Your natural mane is beautiful! Thick, shiny, healthy and your edges are unfazed! Great video!🙏✌💖
Thank you. I have very fine hair, thin and the slightest thing could cause me tension alopecia. So I was worried about gluing in weave again. The last time I used glue on my scalp was about 15 years ago though. But thanks for the ‘conditioner ‘ tip. 💁🏽💨💋

Why would you use oil? People buy wigs. The stores that sell wigs also sell lace glue remover. It is also sold online. It is not hard to find!
@@craftingwithangie2021 glue bond remover. Ebay Walmart Amazon..............
Dante Velasquez OMG SAME!! I use to use oil sheen and it basically made the glue right back tacky. This video was needed 👏🏾
This is a video sent from heaven. I'm telling you fam. This is the first time I've ever had glue for my head and the stories had me scared. Thanks for breaking it down so easy that a beginner could follow. I appreciate you sis!
Next video can you show how you wash the bundles for reuse 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 or is it a one-time install? 😳
For a woman who just had tracks put in for the first time in her life you have just blessed me with knowledge. Thank you 😊
“Still got my edges Boo” 😂😂 You tell ‘em sis. Look at you with all that flourishing healthy hair 💖
I use conditioner track slides right out no damage to hear or edges👌
Thank you, all the way from South Africa, my hair is so thin in texture I was worried if it will be damaged, I used the conditioner and it slipped right out.. no hassle, no hair loss, am happy🤗thank you ❤
Is that paternity court you watching?? Some of those episodes be getting me
Zay s I be seeing her in the comments on there. 😂😂
Lol
LOL yes ma’am that is my show! 😂🙌🏾
Adira Vanessa lmaoooo I be allll up in the comments 😂
beautycanbraid be in the comments too! pc fam stand up!😄
Tierra J, you are so right about using conditioner instead of oil to remove the glue.
I had one black girl in my beauty class and wished there were more. My adopted daughter does hair. Big business if you're good!!!!!!
soooooo relatable! read my life story on ur post😆sticking with glue for now
Fantastic job my sista!
Thank you Tierra for that great tip on removing the glue with hair conditioner. And the music you choose to play is ALWAYS BANGIN!!!
Dat hair is full and fabolis hunny 💆🏽♀️
I can't believe you took it down. It still looks so good and natural!
“i have a one year old and he was like girl ik this not yo hair” it be your your own kids 😂
I know right my kids like that mommy why u wearing makeup it don't look like u at all I be like get yall bad butt on somewhere
@@summerrobinson4610 awwww, hopefully the message doesn’t translate to mom doesn’t look like herself so i don’t want to look like myself either
When I wore glued in weave back in the day, I used to pull out my hair trying to take it out. We used bond remover back then. Your hair look soo healthy! 😍😍😍
I think its important to remember everyone's hair is different
There are so many factors that play a role diet, lifestyle, genetics, stress, overall health... she knows her hair and what it can handle and she also does a very good job with maintaining it to keep it healthy!
People are so annoying when they comment on other people hair.
tiffyTV 🐒 lol cute
Thank you for keeping it simple. I have gone back to natural. Only flat ironing for special occasions.
Well tomorrow is double bday date night so yass I’m adding some length and gona flat iron.
Can’t wait I literally had to go back and watch how we used to do.
My hair was long for so long
Now I'm tempted to do this. Thank you
Same girl. SAME!!!!
Você faz muito loucura nos SEUS cabelos kkrsrs amora amo você 😆😆😍
Me too.
EVA Capri me too 😩😩
Her hair is sooo healthy too 😍😍
after she removed her weave 😭😭
I recently got a quick weave installed and the girl did a horrible job. Didn't know how to lay tracks down and didn't know how to cut. I'm about to take it down and redo it myself. Thank you for this video, it helps to know what to do when someone else messes up your hair. 😍🤗
Haters gone hate! You didn’t have to prove anything Sis, but this video will shut ‘em up! 💜
The glue in looks really natural. And your results removing it look fine too. You did a good job.
Love this Video Sis!! I just tried it and it works!!! I Used my Blow dryer to heat up the glue with the conditioner on it for any spots that had a lil too much glue.. and glue was just sliding right on out!!
I use oil sheen to take out my tracks when it’s glued in and it slips right out but I’ll try using conditioner next time 👍🏼
I'm no hair dresser but this is how i always take out my glued in tracks. I always thought it made it easier to get the glue out
Your natural hair is gorgeous💜That head shake had me mesmerized 😍
This is very simple very easy.. If you washed those tracks could you use it for anotjer glue in??
Kersha Beaver I used to reuse them when I was younger but it's been YEARS since I've used glue and I was so young so Idk either. 🤷🏽♀️
@@LadyWhiggy oh ok
Yes you can
Such a great video!
The video title though lol they better leave you alone
Deidra B. LOL frfr! 😂
What ever I been doing this for years and my hair is perfectly fine. You're hair looks super healthy
I wear them because they look natural and when I take my hair out it fine. I've never lost my edges.
Used this method for years. Tresseme is the best conditioner to use!
Thank you for putting emphasis on massage the conditioner. Great video thanks for sharing.
This is the first time I had ever tried this glue and of course, I applied it directly on my scalp and I was very concerned what I was gonna do to get it off. but your video was absolutely perfect. I can’t believe how easy you made it look. you are so adorable, so cute. don’t mind them haters. you do you! great video.
om my gawwwd i love the music in the background lol
I use glue all the time. I've always used oil, but you are absolutely right, so messy! Lol. I will definitely be using this removal method next time. Thanks, beautiful! Keep doing what you do. ❤
Hello! Could you recommend a glue for extensions? The one that you consider the best. I live in a tropical country and I sweat a lot. I need a catch that is really good. Help!
Great video! I use the 30 second shampoo glue remover also. It works very well and also the track slide right out. You have beautiful hair! 😍
Does it matter how long the hair stays in to remove it with conditioner and what's the best brand of conditioner
Preach. I'm 34 and been gluing my tracks on and off since I was 16 and my hair and scalp is fine. I actually start having thinning edges when I stated sew in's.
Me too
Noticed you trim mostly after a flat iron. Would you trim on a blow dry like this? I plan to trim on myself today using your videos but not sure I want to flat iron. It rains every other day where I live
Hey girl!!!!! I do this method!!! It works!! Just take your time!! Love YA'LL!!!❤💋❤💋❤
South Paw yesss!! ❤️❤️❤️
Subbed within the first minute. You have a great personality!
How do you wash your scalp/hair if conditioner takes off glue? Do you have a video on this?
People be waiting to say I told you so...... I love your hair, keep it coming ❣️
so basically you just use only conditioner to take ur extensions out no other product is that correct??? and btw nice tutorial
I like your paintings in the back where’d you get them?
Lilahxoxo thank you! My sister is a graphic designer and an artist in general. I bought the painting from her: www.artishdesign.com
Yaaass for the healthy hair! Your hair looks so healthy Ti!
Your hair was telling them haters to mind they business at the end of the video‼️😌💯
I love how thick and healthy your hair looks I dont understand why people were coming for you
great job, I've been using conditioners since the '90s, all natural now but great reminder
Very educational and informative! You proving the naysayers wrong. Love your flowy blow out
So my question is, since conditioner takes it out so quickly….
Am I the only one who never remembered to close that dang on glue nozzle... just come back to some gummy-booger-of-a-mess.
Sabrina Parker girl yea 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 then you gotta pop that top part off and peel and peel and peel 😂😂😂😂😂
I used to do mine like this!! Never had hair loss either 👍🏾👍🏾
Girl you do know your hair no doubt.. Love your hair... 😍
My glue ins had my hair growing awesome!
Breakage comes from yanking, snatching out, pulling out a glue in. I used to wear it years ago the old school way. I never had a problem with it. Soap, conditioner, a detangling comb helps removing it. When the glue gets old it comes out easy.
Yes, honey! Show them the right way & price them wrong. They all needs to shut up.
Versatile Female ur back! Girl I been missing u in the comments lol. I would see u every video and didn’t know what to think when I wasn’t seeing u commenting but glad to c ur doing well!
Happy Blessed New 2019
Gurl, I'm shook!
Sooooo satisfying 😭🤭❤️❤️
Does conditioner work better than those glue removers they sell? I barely hear about those.
I promise it's a million shows out here but paternity court never fails us 🤣
Latravia Johnson PERIOD!!! 😂🙌🏾
omg your natural hair is so so so pretty underneath it all!!!! why glue in fake hair when you got beautiful hair!!! rock it!
same people coming for you about thiz style have no problem putting those frontals on their hair. i really dont see the difference
Alexandra Culberson frontals aren’t supposed to be glued to the hair. But I understand what you are saying.
Thank you sweetcheeks for restoring my faith! People who come for you ain’t got anything better to do! Jxxx
You are soooo gorgeous 😍😍😍😍 your skin is so clear , and you look so young black don’t crack lol
Thank you. I have very fine hair, thin and the slightest thing could cause me tension alopecia. So I was worried about gluing in weave again. The last time I used glue on my scalp was about 15 years ago though. But thanks for the ‘conditioner ‘ tip. 💁🏽💨💋
