Hello James. My son and I really enjoy making these videos and I'm happy to hear that you enjoy watching them. Take care and enjoy the rest of the weekend.
Just letting people know if you don't live in the Las Vegas Valley at 8:00 a.m. can already be over 100° but these guys are actually going on in the desert and from what I see of the area it's already over a hundred degrees
First .22LR ammo I ever shot was a box of Winchester Wildcat roundnose lead my Dad bought me. 8-years-old and I can’t remember the make of the firearm, but it was a bolt-action rifle. My intro to shooting and now in my mid-60s and still shooting. Every so often I’ll buy a box of Wildcat in honor of my Dad, who I still miss.
My dad bought me a Marlin Glenfield Model 60 .22 rifle for Christmas when I was a young teenager in the early '70s and Wildcat was probably the first ammo I shot threw my new rifle. I also think of my dad and that old .22 rifle every time I shoot Wildcat ammo. Thank you for the awesome comment.
Lost my Dad at 23. I'm 68 now. Miss plinking sessions with my Dad using my Dan Wesson .357. He was impressed with the accuracy and the hot loads. Cherish your loved ones while they're here.
Thanks for the 22 reviews recently, MixUp. Nearly every home that has firearms, has at least one 22LR. This nation is riding a fast train toward chaos and violence. Whether you’re a conspiracy theorist and believe there are forces behind the chaos, or just feel like it’s a natural/organic phenomenon, does not matter. That being said, because of the sheer numbers of 22LR firearms, reliability of ammo is going to become critical to many good people. I’ve been paying close attention to your ammo reliability vids, as well as your platform vids. Good lookin out, MixUp!
Used to buy a brick of Wildcat at my local general store for $5; not consistent or accurate but made for a fun day of plunking with my Winchester lever gun
Damn........ I thought I was doing well to buy ammo at $3 a packet (50) 40 years ago. (Mind you, ammo has always been "a LOT more expensive" in Australia than USA. I stopped shooting when I couldn't get change out of $100 for a brick.
My dad past this past November 5 days after Thanksgiving. He always want a ruger automatic pistol. I always meant to get him 1 and never did. So I think my next gun will be that exact model I might even just mount it to a plaque for him.Thank you for what you and you family do seriously I wish I could of bonded with my dad like that.
Good morning beesod6412. Hydration is extremely important and we drink lots of water and Gatorade when we are out making our videos. Unfortunately my son and I probably won't make too many videos over the next several months due to the excessive heat during July and August. You also live long and prosper 👍👽
I prefer CCI .22s, both Mini-Mag and the 40 gr Blazer; the only exceptions are Aguila 40 gr and Thunderbolt. They all work reliably in essentially the same two Rugers used in the video.
I've found polishing the chamber & feed ramp on every 22lr firearm is a must to insure less finnicky about ammo selection. Excellent reviews mixup and son!!!
I consider that type of ammo as bulk ammo. I use to use it to plink and hunt back in the day but every so often you’d get what I call a squib aka uncharged round. Something I learned to expect with all bulk ammo.
I'll add that his reviews land well with the common man. No $3000 voltquartzen or $7000 bougie 2011s. Not that there is anything wrong with that, just not my thing.
I have the new Wildcat .22 LR rifle from Winchester. It's all polymer except the barrel, bolt and some small parts like screws and spring. There's a button thay releases the Fire Conteol Unit so you can easily clean and reassmble the gun. The FCU has the bolt, trigger assembly and magwell. It's super light weight.
I used to own a Winchester Wildcat .22 rifle and it was a great shooter. I like that it extremely reliable, accurate and uses Ruger 10/22 magazines. Here is the review I did on my Wildcat rifle: ua-cam.com/video/xtrjOoeF7Sk/v-deo.html
Nevada is very beautiful country. Here in Pennsylvania. You cannot see that far very rugged steep mountains and very large forest. It is so nice to see you 2 together. Your son is a very lucky young man to have a father like you. You would have gotten along very well with my Dad. I miss him every day. God bless from Pennsylvania buddy Jeff 😊
I agree 100%.You need 5 or more .22s to make sure. They all are finicky with certain ammo. My 86 Buckmark only likes golden bullets. The other doesn't care. Two Taurus TX 22s. Ruger single ten. Ruger wrangler. Two 10/22s. A CZ 452 bolt. A Ranger 36 (Marlin 80), sold by Sears in the 1930s. I'm probably forgetting one or two. But that ammo is getting used somehow!
I have "a few" .22lr firearms. My go to for light primer strike and other failure to fire rounds is my Ruger Single Six stainless. If it won't make the round go bang (almost) nothing will.
I've had increased accuracy for less cost with CCI Blazer ammo. My local shop tells me that Blazers are CCI Minimag propellant with CCI Standard Velocity slugs. The perfect combo for me and my Savage 64FSS. For me in Canada, 5000rds for $450CAD. Decent 🤓
I also have a pair of Keltec P17's and I had the same luck with the Win 22M ammo as you experienced with your Browning with the wildcat. Up to that point, my keltecs shot just about anything I fed it, that is until I was bragging on them with friends and opened a container full of the Win 22M ammo. I have one in the green that did a little better than my black one. The black keltec was about identical to your Browning. My best ammo across the board is the CCI with the AR image on the box. That CCI has the best pattern. I do love my Keltec P17's. Thanks for your videos! Also enjoy seeing your son with you on this. My son works with me in our metal fab shop so I know the feeling! And it is great!! Keep it up!
My best ammo across the board is also CCI and I've never owned a .22 rimfire that didn't like Mini Mag ammo. You are very fortunate to have your son working with you in your shop. My son works full time and I usually only see him one day a week. You are a lucky man. Thank you for being a five year subscriber to my channel and have a great Sunday.
Your opener reminded me that about 20 some years ago I had nothing but trouble with Remington .22 anything, inconsistent power loads, duds, etc. Totally avoided it, seriously. Winchester and CCI was the flawless ammo for me. Glad it’s better now.
Many years ago, I picked up a .22 Browning Challenger ll pistol, that gave me problems from the beginning. Failure to feed, stovepipe, failure to eject. Didn't matter what ammo I used. Needless to say, got rid of it. Great video! Thanks for posting.
THANK YOU for ALL your interesting and informative videos, I've ENJOYED ALL OF THEM!!!!😊 I wanted to mention that years ago I had a BAD EXPERIENCE with the older Winchester Wildcats in my old Walther PP, wish I still had it!!! When I pulled Wildcats in my Walther it would act up like it was the BIGGEST piece of S__T in the WORLD. BUT when I shot Remington Thunderbolts through it ALL WAS GREAT, run like a CLOCK!!! IT also shot very accurate with the CHEAP REMINGTON almost as good as some of my TARGET PISTOLS (EXAMPLE-Beretta 76W)!!! So THANK YOU AGAIN FOR REINFORCING my DISTAIN for WILDCATS!!! I LOVE MY 22LRS, WOULD LOVE TO COME OUT TO YOUR SHOOTING RANGE AND LET YOU TRY OUT A FEW OF MY "INTERESTING OLD SINGLE SHOT 22LRS!!! I THINK YOU WOULD BE SUPRISED WHAT I HAVE, SEVERAL ARE MORE THAN 100 YEARS OLD, UP TO 130 OR SO YEARS OLD!!!!😮😊😊😊
As you probably know I recently reviewed Remington Thunderbolt ammo and it was 100% reliable in a handful of firearms and I was extremely impressed. I also love my .22 LR firearms and maybe someday I will do a video showing off a handful of them. And yes, I do love old single shot .22 rifles.
@@mixup98 I have a Remington Rolling Block #1 1/2 in 22lr (only made less than 5,000 in all calibers), Stevens Ideal model 44 in 22lr, several PRE-WWII Mauser trainers and a sporter and a interesting dainty 22lr for youths that I had a hell of a time finding anything about it on the Internet it had "BUA" on the receiver. I finally found the it was an early commercial Anschutz made before WWII, the BUA stood for "BOLTE UND ANSCHUTZ". I've got the Japanese copy of the Winchester model 52B and Winchester 1885 in 22lr and put an appropriate rear tang sight on it. I only have access to 2 indoor ranges one 50' the other 75'. The shorter one is for pistol calibers and shotguns the other I could shoot up to a 460 magnum, wouldn't want to shoot it (in my old age of 71 I'm recoil sensitive). Oh yeah I've got one of the early CZ527 in 7.62X39 which is REALLY NICE!!!! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK PROMOTING THE SECOND AMENDMENT!!!!👍😁😎
@mixup98 I ENJOY YOUR VIDEOS VERY MUCH!!! I JEALOUS about how you have such a GREAT PLACE to shoot even at LONG RANGE!! I used to go to an old rock quarry not too far from where I live but over the years of housing development and people shooting in UNSAFE direction, the sheriff of that county CLOSED the quarry for shooting!!that's when I started shooting indoors but LIMITED to 75' which isn't very far PLUS you can't shot fast even if you are capable of accurate shooting while doing so!! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK MAKING GREAT VIDEOS AND PROMOTING THE 2ND AMENDMENT!!! THIS IS FROM A PROUD SON OF A WW2 VETERAN OF 9 CAMPAIGNS IN THE ATLANTIC THEATER (THE WHOLE NINE YARDS), 8/41-8/45!!!
Great video. I have a Ruger 22 Charger which is a blast to shoot. I only use CCI or Aguila ammo. Never had a problem. I did have a magazine problem on a BX 25. Took it apart, thanx to a youtuber, worked perfect.
I was still on the old bird site when Winchester announced they were coming back out with their Wildcat ammo. I commented back then that I wish they would bring back the Dynapoint ammo, as that is what I preferred to use when I was shooting rimfire Bullseye competitions and was very happy with it back then (and it was way cheaper than Eley) while Wildcat had a bad reputation. Winchester responded to me that the new version of Wildcat was, in fact, the old Dynapoint. Looks to me like it is more like the old Wildcat with a Dynapoint bullet, which is what the box now says it is. I shot an Appleseed 25m clinic last weekend using a 10/22 like yours in the video. The ammo I used was CCI Blazer. Of the 400 rounds I shot, I had zero malfunctions and had many one hole 3-shot groups using a sling for support. Rifle and ammo performed great. It's just the lugnut behind the scope that was a bit rusty and threw some shots when they counted the most. (CCI used to have the ammo specs on their website and they had Blazer with identical ballistics as Mini Mags)
Hello Sir, Great seeing you two today. Sorry I got busy tractoring and didn't get to drop a comment till after 10:pm. But I'm glad to see you still like your KelTec P17, that's my favorite .22LR pistol in my own collection. You have a few in your collection that I have never had the privilege to shoot. Stay hydrated and stay blessed. :)
Aah, the old Winchester Wildcat. I remember shooting these, plain lead though in the late 70's. Found a brick of them in the wellhouse on the farm and thought they were old and forgotten. Shot a box of them every time I went ground squirrel hunting. Then one day Dad comes in the house ranting about his .22 shells! Oops.
Thanks for that test. You faired better than I did the last time I tried Wildcat ammo, but that was several years ago and I don't know how old my ammo was as it was given to me. I watch the loss-leader sales so I'll try Wildcat again.
After all these years, Winchester still is not ( apparently ) listening to the buyers like us, out here who still pay good money for their sub-standard rimfire ammunition. I just can't trust this brand and unlike you 'mixup98', I simply don't trust this obviously poor quality rimfire ammunition. These videos are always information AND entertaining, and for this, I thank you ( plural ) .
Thanks for another great video! I'm glad you didn't poop on the ammo! I completely agree about some guns liking certain ammo and some not so much! I do appreciate your channel! You are the ones that told me about the shorty shell device for my Maverick 88!
Great video guys, Years ago I used to hunt small game with Winchester Super X .22lr ammunition. I purchased a couple hundred rounds recently and it doesn't group well at all from the same rifle I've been using all these years. JT
Thank you to you & Ed for sharing the vid. The velocity variances were pretty wide, esp in the Ruger pistol. I tend to buy the bulk packs of .22lr when they're on sale, & so far I haven't ran across any that’s seriously bad. It does take me while to go through it, & I have some Browning (made by Winchester) that isn't aging well.
You probably remember that I did a review on Browning .22 ammo (Winchester) and I wasn't very impressed with it. I've always had good luck with bulk Aguila .22 ammo, and recently Remington has been very good.
I'm in the central US and I have never seen Winchester Wildcat ammo ever until a couple of years ago. We also have Super X and Federal for bulk ammo and always please with them. I would not hold the issues with the Browning against the ammo. I had one back in 2011, and hated it. It kept doing what you experienced, FTF and FTE. The most reliable ones I've seen are the S&W 22 compact and Taurus TX 22 both excellent choices. 22 LR is great fun one of my favorites thanks for video always enjoy them.
Another great video thanks the Pladoh was a great idea we like using a bag of flour it's just over a dollar It makes a nice white cloud every time you hit it
Hi Mix up and son great seeing you on the Job. Ihave several 22s. Dont like Aquilla and Winc Shot Thunder bolts. were accurate but filthy. God bless you both.
I think you were generous with your comments on the winchester wildcat ammo. Years ago I ran into a bad batch of remington 22 ammo. Lots of fail to fire even with good firing pin marks. Some would fire by rotating the round in the chamber and striking a second time. That was over fifteen years ago, never bought remington 22 again.
Thanks Mixup and son! I believe you gave the ammo a fair shake. I’ve had similar experience as you in the past with Winchester wildcat ammo. I used this ammo in my 22 revolvers. Sometimes this was the only 22 ammo I could find so I bought it.
My son and I get out about 7:00 am and we are usually done shooting our video by 9:30am. Even at 9:30 the temperature is close to 100 degrees! Stay cool my friend.
I'd almost bet that with a new extractor and spring your Browning would work with that ammo. There is a lot of difference in brass between different manufactures and types of powder used can also make a difference in different guns. I had a Hi Standard Supermatic Citation most of my life that would eat absolutely anything other than CCI ammo, had all kinds of misfires with it and it was because CCI brass is harder or thicker one. Every other gun I've ever owned loved CCI ammo. All rims are not equal either, close, but not exact and some if ever slightly more rounded will permit the extractor to slip off especially if the brass isn't shrinking down as quickly as others. Long story short, as you say, you have to shoot the ammo your particular firearm likes. In that Hi Standard I mentioned it would put a good deep dent in the rims of anything other than CCI ammo and with it you could barely tell the firing pit even hit it in some cases. Harder brass? Thinner rims? Don't know, other than to shoot something else in that gun. Could be that a new firing pin and or spring may have fixed the problem. Never tried it so don't know. I do know that with time and wear extractors will round off slightly and slip easier than a new sharp one.
I have a Taurus 942 magnum ultra light. Fired at the range and the only ammo I had trouble with was Hornady ballistic tip. Couple of fail to fire and were hard to eject.
I was looking for a Winchester wild cat ammo review for a long time as is my favourite 22lr and always my first choice as lm a long time user, I’m glad that I’m your loyal subscriber 😀👍
Nice Video! I shoot the Winchester Wildcat out of my Ruger 10/22s and I have good luck with it. Just plinking with the kids. I live in Phoenix and it is way too hot… I am happy to see your videos, you are out in the heat! Thank you!
That only pertains to semi-autos. My lever, bolt and pump .22 rifles cycle them fine. Revolvers work fine as well. I have found semi-auto .22s to be problematic.
I'm sure your Buckmark would love to get back out to the range and have a few rounds put through it. Please let us all know how the Wildcat ammo performs in your Browning.
I picked up a Taurus TX22 earlier this month and went out to shoot it after wiping out all the gunk and adding some lubricant. It did not like Remington Golden Bullet hollow points or CCI mini mags. It did like standard velocity CCI 40 grain lead and surprisingly Monarch 40 grain lead standard. Still have Winchester Silvertip, Federal Punch, Thunderbolt Federal 36, Federal Target Grade, and some Norma Tac-22. I put a total of a bit over 200 rounds that session and will likely try some of the previously mentioned again as time point. Anyway, will probably grab a few books of CCI standard in the meantime.
I have a feeling that your TX22 will shoot Mini Mag just fine now that you have put over 200 rounds through it. Mine has run flawlessly after a short break-in period.
I tried the thunderbolt ammo and I fired about 150 rounds through my sw22. I literally had lead that had oozed and solidified at the end of my barrel. I use golden bullets now for the price, but prefer Aguila copper plated.
That slab side Browning Buck Mark is neat, my friend had a standard camper model that was failing to work right, I looked it over and the top cover screws were both loose. I took it apart and cleaned/oiled it and thread locked the screws then it ran like a champ.
I would maybe try Wildcat again, but I haven't shot it in probably 30 years, it used to be fairly accurate, but I would get a lot of under powered rounds, a LOT. Only shot it to begin with because it was cheap.
I absolutely agree with you. I bought a few boxes of CCI poly coated .22 ammo during that time frame and it was horrible, which really surprised the hell out of me.
My brother's 10-22 take down is heavily fouled by the Thunderbolt. Fouled so much the barrel is completely clogged. My 10-22 eats every kind, including the Thunderbolt. But I avoid the Thunderbolt due to fouling. The Fiocchi is inaccurate. S&B is pretty good. The CCI Stinger is best
Well now this was a interesting video and my favorite type of testing is with the tried and true 22LR ammo. I have shot about every type of bulk ammo that there is through my Smith& Wesson m&p 1522,Sig Sauer p322 Taurus tx22 competition and My Taurus tx22 Gen 2. All of these above mention 22LR guns have no problems at all with bulk ammo.
Thanks for the interesting and informative video. I have a carton (500 rounds) of the Wildcats that must be 40 years old by now. As I recall, I paid $10.00 for it.Times have sure changed, huh? I keep telling myself I should shoot it, but since I discovered CCI MiniMags, that’s all I shoot any more.
My buddy picked up some of this ammo , we had a few failures to cycle the action . His tx22 and sr22 had issues but his kel-tec p17 and ruger target ran fine. Did the play dough smell like it used to? Always good to see you out together.
when the case physical characteristics meet the gun extractor, a place where it is not always found to be in agreement. You are right to not count it against the ammo. If the ammo spec on the casing were to change just a tad as in dimension or shape of the rim it may solve the problem for the Browning, but then not do so well in another gun. One thing I would suggest, while I am sure that your browning is clean and does well with other ammo you could be surprised to find that the extractor function is actually on the ragged edge of failing and it is doing so because the wildcat ammo dimensions and shape are just far enough different than other ammos that the extractor is just not getting a grip. Shooting sure keeps a guy on his game, seems always something to have to be addressed.
I've seen some gun tubers have lots of under powered rounds of these. These ran pretty consistent tho. Still I just try to avoid any Winchester ammo of any caliber. If you're lucky you'll get a mediocre box of ammo. Might get utter crap tho.
in my experience Winchester is slightly larger in diameter than all the other 22 ammo I've tried and some guns wont even chamber the rounds. I have tried several old revolvers that I can't even force the rounds into the cylinder it is so bad, and even if I could I doubt I'd be able to get them out afterwards. But this is the only brand that is consistently out of spec. I've shot Aguila, Remington, Federal, CCI, and a bunch of other brands and all of them seem to be fine but the Winchester just is too big.
I fully agree with you. Their ammo tends to run on the fat side. Same issues with a 1971 Glenfield Mod 60 rifle. Drop the bolt and many rounds would not fully chamber. I measured several with a micrometer and had so many different measurements I gave up on Winchester rimfire completely. They did chamber in my Henry 22 pump, mainly because of the extra power of the action's movement. However, now and then you'd feel some resistance. Eventually shot all that ammo up and never bought more.
It is just like you said "Its cheap plinking ammo" nothing more nothing less and it will always have flyers ..... I myself don't like or buy winchester/Remington rimfire ammo ..... As always mixup nice video showing us you having some fun with your son.
You mentioned CCI AR-TAC and Thunderbolt ammo, but didnt comment on the clean up. Ive never had an issue with Thunderbolt reliability, but man thats some dirty ammo.
Hey Mix (I'm gonna start calling you ".22Mix...) :) LOVE my Ruger 10/22! I've owned many of them and every one was a gem. Fabulous 22's. For any business work (hunting, serious target, defense...) I use CCI minimags exclusively. BUT, as you know, plinking is ESSENTIAL for training and....fun! I'll shoot any 22 ammo in that sitch. It is nice if they work well tho... Keep up the good work and please...some more Mix and son nature themed vids.
Thanks for the videos , i haven't bought 22 ammo for awhile but have around 1200 rds, from early 80's -s/l/lr- have my dads Remington 552 manufactured in 1957 it's in very good condition, also stepfather's Marlin model 60 w/ gold trigger and gold medallion ( if that's correct) walnut, I'm getting a Remington model 592 5mm, ( can't remember if i told you that in the past) do you have a 5mm or know someone who does that you could do a video on ? Keep up the good work and stay cool us older folks can't handle the heat like we used to.
Great presentation in my strange state unless you shoot at a bonified shooting range. Lead free ammo the law, when shooting outdoors. Limited market for lead free .22 ammo CCI, and Norma in my area with .30 grain bullets moving at 1700 + fps love to see you test this ammo.
Also in my golden state starting July1, 2024. All ammo and fireams purchases will have an additional 11% special tax in addtion to city sales tax which varies in Californa. So in my city Camarillo, you will pay 7.25% plus 11% = 18.25 % on top of all the other fees! 😢 bring back old days ugh!. 🎉
I have a Taurus PT22 that's kinda like your Buckmark.. but in the opposite direction, lol. It only likes CCI Mini Mags. I've tried Federal Punch, Stingers, Wildcats, and pretty much everything else in it. It either won't feed or will not extract. 100% reliable with the Mini Mags. It's weird.
I would suggest using a micrometer or dial calipers to check the OD of the Winchester ammo and compare it to the OD of the CCI ammo. I suspect that the OD of the Winchester ammo is a bit bigger and probably causing the issues you are seeing with the Buckmark. If I remember correctly, I had a Ruger Bearcat that wouldn't allow me to load the Winchester ammo in the cylinder because it was probably a bit bigger. The CCI ammo loaded in with no problems. I suspect that there may be .002 to .005 difference ... just enough to cause this issue. Let me know how it goes. Thanks for the video.
I would take a guess and say that you're right about the Winchester ammo being slightly larger and I would also guess that the Buckmark is probably on the tight side of the acceptable chamber tolerance.
No, not for me. It might be a little better but it's still not what it should be. Hey if Remington can bring their 22 RF back from rimfire hell so can Winchester. I would not trust this ammo in a pistol for my mom on her nightstand. Good video, glad I watched. I have a Buckmark & it shoots everything. I won't even try now.
I recently purchased Winchester 22LR ammo and am very disappointed in its performance. I had failures in guns I have never had a failure to fire or eject.
Sorry to hear that Jim. I ordered my Wildcat ammo three weeks ago from a large retail distributor and I'm confident that it was recently manufactured. I hear that Remington recently changed their priming compound, which has helped a lot with reliability, and maybe Winchester recently changed their primer recipe too.
I’m 74 and can’t do a lot of things I want to do anymore. Have a hard time walking. I sure enjoy your videos. Thanks.
Hello James. My son and I really enjoy making these videos and I'm happy to hear that you enjoy watching them. Take care and enjoy the rest of the weekend.

I'm going to turn 70 this year and walking is a lot harder than it used to be. I can relate.

@@OhSoddit ammo is more expensive than ever! I don't shoot very often anymore
I remember when it was .79 a box. We only ever shot it in bolt actions, though. The grown-ups told us audi-maticks were a waste of ammo!

Some ammo just doesn't work in semi-autos. That's why I also have single shots, bolt actions, and revolvers. The ammo gets used one way or another.
Thank you for being a five year subscriber to my channel and have a great Sunday.
the only ammo my p17 likes reliably is blazer..
Your opener reminded me that about 20 some years ago I had nothing but trouble with Remington .22 anything, inconsistent power loads, duds, etc. Totally avoided it, seriously. Winchester and CCI was the flawless ammo for me. Glad it’s better now.
The Buckmark has a tight fitting match chamber and those Wildcats are just not meant for that.
Many years ago, I picked up a .22 Browning Challenger ll pistol, that gave me problems from the beginning. Failure to feed, stovepipe, failure to eject. Didn't matter what ammo I used. Needless to say, got rid of it. Great video! Thanks for posting.
I have a Ruger Mark IV that doesn’t like Aguila Super Extra 22. So I totally understand your point about the nature of rimfire pistols.
Thus far, my MkIV loves CCI mini mag 40gr, so I've just been feeding it that since I got it.
I love and buy Winchester ammo of all kinds. The 22lr and 22mag ammo has been problematic at times when other brands fed perfectly
I have a plethora of 22's. Federal and CCI are my favorites.
THIS IS FROM A PROUD SON OF A WW2 VETERAN OF 9 CAMPAIGNS IN THE ATLANTIC THEATER (THE WHOLE NINE YARDS), 8/41-8/45!!!
even 100 years later. browning and Winchester still have problems with each other.
I think you hit it on the head 👍😁
I've had such good luck with CCI, Remington and Federal that I'm sticking with them
Thanks for another great rimfire video...from Southern Nevada !
Great video. I have a Ruger 22 Charger which is a blast to shoot. I only use CCI or Aguila ammo. Never had a problem. I did have a magazine problem on a BX 25. Took it apart, thanx to a youtuber, worked perfect.
Winchester needs to step up their rimfire ammunition game.
Lots of companies need to work on their quality control. How do you make something that works perfectly for 40+ years and then suddenly forget? 🤔
Browning + Wildcat = NADA! :) Good Video, as always!
👍😎👌
Hello Sir, Great seeing you two today. Sorry I got busy tractoring and didn't get to drop a comment till after 10:pm.
But I'm glad to see you still like your KelTec P17, that's my favorite .22LR pistol in my own collection. You have a few in your collection that I have never had the privilege to shoot. Stay hydrated and stay blessed. :)
I have found that the browning doesn't like it if the oal is slightly more or the projectiles are heavily waxed they tend to hang up in the magazine.
I'll stick with CCI, just like guns, buy the best that you can afford. Thanks for sharing.
Always a great Saturday when mixup98 posts a video
Aah, the old Winchester Wildcat. I remember shooting these, plain lead though in the late 70's. Found a brick of them in the wellhouse on the farm and thought they were old and forgotten. Shot a box of them every time I went ground squirrel hunting. Then one day Dad comes in the house ranting about his .22 shells! Oops.
Similar story - except it was beer 🍻
Rim fire is just what it is ! To me it’s not near as reliable as any center fire cartridge. Have a Blessed Day 🇺🇸
Thanks for that test.
👍😎 👍😎
Thanks for another great video! I'm glad you didn't poop on the ammo! I completely agree about some guns liking certain ammo and some not so much! I do appreciate your channel! You are the ones that told me about the shorty shell device for my Maverick 88!
I'm extremely happy that the Wildcat ammo performed well enough that I didn't have to poop on it 😁
The old ruger auto pistol I have one my dad purchased in 1955 ,still looks new
Great video guys,
Years ago I used to hunt small game with Winchester Super X .22lr ammunition.
@@mixup98My Browning*Winchester started fine, but I'm getting more no fires as it ages. I know the bullets were loose in the casings from the start.
Another great video thanks the Pladoh was a great idea we like using a bag of flour it's just over a dollar It makes a nice white cloud every time you hit it
I just might have to buy a bag of flour....thanks for the heads-up.
Hi Mix up and son great seeing you on the Job.
Ihave several 22s. Dont like Aquilla and Winc
Shot Thunder bolts. were
accurate but filthy.
God bless you both.
Hello Edward and thank you for the nice comment. God bless you and yours.
I own a 1997 10/22 with a 9x40 scope and it's a tack driver, also own a ruger mkii pistol like the one you have there.
Thanks for the review. The lack of accuracy at 30 yards is not acceptable. Then the failures to cycle. 😞
Still cool enough to be out, I see. Here in Appalachian Ohio we have 95 degrees today! Enjoy your videos!
I hope mixup keeps making videos in the face of yourube restrictions.
My son and I thank you for being a loyal subscriber and we hope you have a safe and enjoyable weekend.
Nice Video! I shoot the Winchester Wildcat out of my Ruger 10/22s and I have good luck with it. Just plinking with the kids.
I live in Phoenix and it is way too hot… I am happy to see your videos, you are out in the heat! Thank you!
Great video! I like the Remington, CCI, Winchester, and Aguila.
I love the videos you guys post, just good American fun.
👍😎 👍😎
Another great review, thanks for sharing.
You bet!
Good video explaining that some 22lr ammo just wont work in some guns. Not the guns or ammos fault, just rimfire action
That only pertains to semi-autos. My lever, bolt and pump .22 rifles cycle them fine. Revolvers work fine as well. I have found semi-auto .22s to be problematic.
Good plinking ammo. I agree. Now you have me wanting to dig out my Buckmark and dust off the boxes of Wildcat on my shelf.😉
Thanks for the reviews!! Happy to hear you enjoy the Kel-Tec! Nicely done.
You bet!
Me too since I just bought one. Haven't yet gotten to the range.
@@mkshffr4936 Let me know how you like your Kel-Tec!
@@johng.4959 Will try to. May be a little bit before I can get to the range.
@@mkshffr4936 Great! Enjoy! I'm interested in knowing how it operates. I'm very close to making a purchase and it's between the P17 & TX22. Thanks!
Great videos especially on 22lr, miss the star trek entrance
I would maybe try Wildcat again, but I haven't shot it in probably 30 years, it used to be fairly accurate, but I would get a lot of under powered rounds, a LOT. Only shot it to begin with because it was cheap.
Regular folk, doing honest reviews on everyday arms. Im in!
My son and I thank you for the nice comment 👍😎 👍😎
I think a lot of companies manufactured some sloppy stuff trying to keep up with insane demand between 2020 and 2022.
I absolutely agree with you. I bought a few boxes of CCI poly coated .22 ammo during that time frame and it was horrible, which really surprised the hell out of me.
Yep cool box, cooler video! Thanks, thumbs up ~John
👍😎
Mixup just wanted to wish you and your family a very happy 4th of July 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Thank you my friend and the same to you. Happy July 4th !!!!!
The play dough did smell like it used to. I should have taken it home and made biscuits with it 😁
My dad had a whole ammo can of the old lead rounds. 50 round boxes just stacked up
I’ve had great luck with Winchester m22
when the case physical characteristics meet the gun extractor, a place where it is not always found to be in agreement.
The only ammo that my Keltec P17has had no problems with is the 40 grain CCI mini mags
Another great video and presentation! Thanks to you both!
God bless all here. 😊😊😊😊
I want a mix tape of mixup98 desert .22 ricochets! Pew-pew!! 👍
Would like to have seen a Heritage revolver.
Thanks for the video. I have shot Winchester in the past and not been happy with it. Maybe i will try some again sometime. 😀👍
Only CCI for me maybe some Fiocchi here and there !!
Great video, awesome folks and seemingly decent ammo (surprisingly 🤷♂️) ...
💥🔫🤠 Yeehaw !
I concur with your Yeehaw !
Dirty ammo that leaves a lot of residue is also a downside to some stuff. I found CCI to be cleaner than Remington in my limited shooting experience.
Great concentration with that bug flying around at the beginning, like those pistols. Thanks
I didn't even notice the bug. Guess I'm used to them 😁
Thanks for the videos , i haven't bought 22 ammo for awhile but have around 1200 rds, from early 80's -s/l/lr- have my dads Remington 552 manufactured in 1957 it's in very good condition, also stepfather's Marlin model 60 w/ gold trigger and gold medallion ( if that's correct) walnut, I'm getting a Remington model 592 5mm, ( can't remember if i told you that in the past) do you have a 5mm or know someone who does that you could do a video on ?
🎉
Thanks for the video, I thoroughly enjoyed it
I have a Taurus PT22 that's kinda like your Buckmark.. but in the opposite direction, lol.
Hey if Remington can bring their 22 RF
back from rimfire hell so can Winchester.
I am a CCI lover and I only use other brands in revolvers. I can depend on CCI to work in my automatics.

Those Rugers are good. I had a standard pistol with red eagle (griffon) and 1950 parts price list in the box. Went with ex wife, but great gun.
