I think it's a negative rounding error from their last trip mine nerf.
I don't know why but the warlocks not being able to throw it normally is great. It's like people who can't throw overhand without looking like idiots.

This happened way before final shape. I believe it happened when diamond lances became no longer possible to be picked up in super.
It's even buggier. Shooting the tripmine actually extends its lifespan but only while it's on a wall...
Did you try ricochet rounds being able to replace tripmines like you can do with lasting impression rockets?
I tried ricochet but it just bounce off the tripmine from my experience,

Im pretty sure it was mentioned when GUN powder gamble was put out since it was shootable they didn't want us being able to hit both.
I know for a fact it was mentioned at some point cuz I used to do it all the time and I remember saying "cammy is gonna be pissed" when I read the change
I remember them saying it the other way around, where they wanted to make sure people could shoot the gunpowder gamble grenade out of the air, taking inspiration from some of the skilled players in the crucible. Thus they made it significantly easier to shoot the gunpowder gamble grenade.
Back when I used to main Gunslinger, shooting my tripmine was one of my favorite things about the subclass, it's also way easier on controller lol.
I'll probably never go back to Gunslinger but hopefully this is a bug and not intended because shooting your own stuff to make something happen is very fun.
People struggled with this and people just assume things
How could nobody notice something was up with Tripmine Grenades for so long? What could possibly have seen their usage drop off a cliff?

Thrown tangles were never able to be shot. I remember trying it for the entire lightfall campaign, and nothing ever happened.
You still can shoot your own tangle, it just requires a weapon with the hakke origin trait or something that increases your damage against tangles. Its pretty much the same timing as grappling a thrown tangle but less forgiving
Just to make sure I was referring to thrown tangles not stationary tangles. And just to make sure I did also test this using an aggressive frame sniper rifle + hakke breach armament and can't seem to break it. Either the hitbox is really small for me to hit or it just straight up didn't work.

@@scope402 i swear i have before tho. Maybe it was just the explosion that it makes when it hits but i couldve sworn ive done it before. Maybe it has something to do with the tangle mod this season but idk

You never could, it was one of the first things I tested in light fall, I wanted to make a swarmers tangle throwing build. Thrown tangles can be one shot by enemies, and if shot they don't even detonate. Thrown tangles not activating when shot is probably why it's enemy only.@@Hynra
I was using my martyr's retribution on stasis hunter and was noticing that it wasn't proccing its own origin trait on a Shuriken.
