This month I went 16 days without selling a vehicle in stock. Probably a new record for me and not one that I want to repeat. In the last three days I sold 5 more vehicles plus a factory order. I'll finish up October with only 9 sold and delivered and although I am not happy with these numbers it ended up not being my worst month as a car salesman.

I miss the Impala myself. GM needs to bring a full size sedan into the market but I doubt that’s going to happen anytime soon.

The trax will sell like crazy but hopefully people realize it isn’t cheap because GM has a big heart, it is cheap because it is a cheap vehicle and replaces the Cruze, it will be great for sales people because of the price and demand for a very cheap car but no one should be buying it because they think it has the same quality as more expensive vehicles
People are already complaining about quality problems with it on Reddit

So what did you end the month at? It wasn’t too good a month for me, got 12 delivered and one sold incoming unit. I was originally off today but came in and delivered 2 I’m happy I did.

You seem to be selling a lot of the less expensive suvs, will Chevrolet/GM bring back some more quality affordable vehicles? Maybe some cars too? They move as soon as you get them. I have owned a few Chevrolets, GM, but with the markups & price increases- my 2021 I bought was a luxury suv & not a GM product. It’s was literally cheaper to purchase a bmw, Mercedes, Audi, Volvo than to purchase a comparable trim Chevrolet in 2021. I’m happy with my purchase- but I may have bought GM again if not for those factors.

When your paint less dent removal guy does his work is the customer charged for the work? I know some dealers have the customer pay for it even if it was noticed before purchase.

You are right in saying this is different than 2008. In this recession the economy will be slower in dying, unless their is a catastrophic event. Car sales will change slower, unless again an unforeseen event. I don't believe the US has seen what
an inflationary recession looks like at least in my lifetime. Basically, it will be only the rich buying anything close to a new car or a house. The middle class, and poor get hammered in this type of recession.

not too often... we did a lot back in the days of the Cruze because they had a special promo on the short term

The industry is DYING.. only people buying are people who need a vehicle.. very bad times are ahead not to mention the auto workers union strike.. this is 2008 but worse
