Most people who hate sprouts have only had the overcooked boiled type. Grey rather than green. Roasted, fried, even boiled correctly they’re delicious. Another one to try! 👌🏻
@tedslaughter169 I've had many a boiled sprout in my youth, horrible! I did read somewhere that through breeding sprouts are a lot better than they were I'm the 90s. Don't know how true that is though
I was JUST reconsidering trying brussel sprouts again now that I'm trying to eat more veggies! I like cabbage now when roasted so Im optimistic about this recipe.
I bloody love sprouts, they are the king of vegetables in my view. Just don't boil them to death. Steam them for a few mins so they are still crunchy or roast them and they turn into lovely little sweets. Yum!
I love Brussels Sprouts! I don't have an air fryer or a fan setting but I often blanch and roast with lemon and herbs. Your recipe looks delish! And so do those pearly whites! 😁
Hi Adam I watch your channel all the time your so funny and the cheap budget meals are the best I live in a budget so am always grateful for your recipes I truley love the Brussels sprout one with ghee balsamic vinegar honey salt and pepper can’t wait to try them thank you so much for all your recipes time and hard work you pot in from Angela
I actually like sprouts, I grow them, after the first frost has been on them they take on a nutty flavour, I will definitely try this recipe it lookes delicious. How about home made mincemeat for mince pies ?
My dad used to pay me 10p to eat my Sunday dinner, and i could sit for hours, maybe not hours but i had to eat my sprouts !!! Didn't force my family to do that except I put ONE on my youngest plate at Xmas and he does eat it, bless him pmsl x
Mate, I did a full Xmas dinner for under £20 a couple of years ago in one take. The video was 30 minutes long and I was half smashed and swearing by the end of it. I dunno about that 🤣🤣
Nice air fryer! never seen a double. I like Brussels sprouts...try adding grated parm or asiago cheese on the at the end! Like to see a nice parm & chive popover recipe...i believe you call them yorkie puddings.
Thank you, Adam! I love 'nasty little fart nuggets' myself, BUT they have to be cooked properly, as in this very way you did here. I'll give your recipe a try. BUT in all likelihood, I'll never make them for anyone but me, much less for Christmas. They just aren't very popular here in the South. I appreciate you 'taking one for the team' and making them in a much more palatable form. For another Christmas recipe, can you make something with chicken? I prefer chicken to turkey or ham. My true preference is some kind of seafood, like lobster, crab, SHRIMP😍 or fish, but that can be costly when served to a larger crowd. I guess you can do a "bring your own seafood, and do a 'low-country boil', and that would be awesome. Thank you so much for the video and recipe! Have a great week. Take care and be safe! 😊💖🙏🌹
Christmas pudding or cake. Also, Adam I would like to donate some money to you for sending me some fat free recipes for my wife. You didn’t have too, but you did and I would like to show my appreciation.
Mate that is super kind of you! You don't have to do that at all. I do accept donations to help the channel, you can message me on Facebook for details but you really don't have to pal
Because they aren't the same. Inwas told they are like mini cabbages but I was tricked! 🤣 saying that, I think they way they are cooked plays a big part in it
Most of my family prefer sprouts sautéed or oven roasted. Not tried air fryer ones as I don't have one. There are four adults in our house so with a double oven (one smallish and one large) it is cheaper than using an air fryer multiple times for a dinner. I also do the same with cabbage so it has more texture and flavour. Nice video though, as usual Adam.
Yeah I'm not a huge fan of sprouts, just about tolerate them, they look better mind, so good job. Ideas maybe some good leftovers recipes? Soups, sandwiches, toasties all that kind of stuff?
“ Fart nuggets!” Lmao! I couldn’t agree more. I’m not crazy about boiled brussel sprouts either. But I like them roasted. I’ve not had them made with gee. I don’t think I’ve had anything made with gee. But bacon drippings now that’s the cats meow. What you made looks good from my point of view. Christmas dinner is a little bit away. I’m trying to psyc myself up for Thanks Giving dinner. I just wish the damn pilgrims would have brought a cow with them!!
@nickd5943 well as I understand things from what they have told me. Is it's a British colony, but pretty much American run. So I thinks it a mix of some American customs and Carribean influence. They aren't formally Caribbean but an associate of the Carribean. I could be wrong, so don't take my word as gospel though.
Okay, next try slicing the sprouts (use a mandolin or the slicing disc on a food processor if you are doing a lot), blanch in boiling water 3 or 4 minutes, drain and add to frying pan with your British "knob of butter" and let sizzle a couple of minutes. Add a splash of orange juice (adjusted to amount of sprouts ) and a handful of dried cranberries. Cook until juice is pretty much evaporated and serve. Honey? Optional. An extra dollop of butter in the serving dish? Optional. Brussel sprouts are the liver of the vegetable world. People cook them to death and then blame the veg.
When it comes to brussel sprouts, always buy frozen. They are just as good if not better as they are parboiled and flash frozen at the prime! I never buy fresh sprouts, same with green peas, haricoverts and broccoli. About cold food, does Food UA-camrs not have microwave ovens ?
@@Adam_Garratt I differentiate between peas and peas... sugar snap peas has to be bought fresh... the normal green ones for mashed peas (and other things) is best frozen. An other produce that is awesome/convenient frozen, is spinach. Make any tomato based sauce in a pan, plonk a few frozen spinach nuggets in there and let them thaw and then stir them through the sauce and then crack a few eggs on top.
I just let mine simmer slowly while keeping an eye on the level of liquid in the pot. Bit of nutmeg, salt, maybe some bacon. The kids never complained. Untasty brussels sprouts are just not prepared properly.
The brussels sprouts these days are not the same as years ago. A Dutch scientist, with the help of Dutch seed companies, and farmers crossed older, less bitter varieties with ones of a commercially-acceptable yield and produced the contemporary ones, which are vastly superior to the ones in the 70s and 80s.
Nice vid you fart nugget! LOL How about making something your lil lady friend likes or that you like to make for her? I apologize as I have forgotten her name. Send her our best and have a great week!
Well she's portuguese, she's got a recipe for her mums portuguese spaghetti that she's going to send at some point, I definitely want to make that on the channel
2 things which are hurdles for me personally. 1) I would actually have to buy some first (which I've never done) and 2) I'd have to overcome the temptation to tip them straight into the bin. Other than that it might just be a go-er.
What other Christmas recipes do you want me to do?
Air fried stuffing like paxo🙂
What about a really different meat stuffing?
@@Adam_Garratt id like to see different versions of pigs in blankets
How about a special Christmas breakfast? I like salmon steak, black pudding and fried egg on toast as a treat.
Maybe do a video of a super easy low effort Christmas Dinner. I love eating it but I hate spending all day in the kitchen stressing.
*YUMMO!* 😋👍🏻 *I LOVE BRUSSELS SPROUTS!*

Try using a paper coffee filter to line your aur fry pan. Makes cleanup a lot easier. Brussel sprouts are one of my favorite vegetables.
