If everyone in your family wears hats you could do one for each with a small colourwork pattern on it in the blended batts colours that way it would be more protected from abrasion than some other knitted items. Very interested to see how these batts spin up. (As I look at my black long haired dog with new ideas lol)😉 Thanks for another wonderful video!
OMG This is so beautiful! Like a big hug from a Very Good Boy:)!! Curious as to why the white fiber stuck more to the licker-in? Could it be some kind of static?? It turned out incredibly well!!And of course you make it all look so easy!
So fun watching you make this Finn batt! This 50/50 blend bath looks really luxurious. Would anyone in your family wear wrist warmers? You could do a stripe or a colorwork pattern with the two colors. But I suppose spinning it and letting it tell you what kind of yarn it wants to be may be the first step…given dog + sheep fiber is a whole new experience. I hope the alpaca show was fun. harpingJanet
Super video, thanks! I'm currently prepping 50:50 golden retriever:fine Falkland for a friend to knit up mittens for her. The GR fur is VERY short-only about 1"-so I skipped the wash prior to drum carding with the idea that I'll wash the skein after it's spun. Wish me luck! Really looking forward to seeing how Finn's spin comes out-the batts are beautiful!!
Good luck! And thanks for watching! I ran my batts through the DC one more time after I started spinning, it was a little clumpy. That 4th time was a game a changer!

That’s what I was thinking too! I am spinning them now!

PS Can’t wait to see these spun up!!:)
The white stuck more because it is cut shorter. I think she cut it shorter because the white is on his legs and top of his head and chest.
@ That makes sense!!

I am thinking headbands for my daughter and me, and hats for the boys. The Alpaca Festival is always fun! It’s one of my favorites!
