Just remember to wash your fibre well. Lesson 3 of my beginners spinning video shows my method of washing. You'll learn from everythng you do, even the mistakes (wish I had $1 for all mine lol!) enjoy!
Terrific, just remember to rotate your carder slowly sometimes Alpaca can be quite delicate passing through a carder. What proportion are you intending to blend? If it’s for a garment remember Alpaca drapes and can drop in a garment if in high proportions to wool.
@@janet-myspinonthings7016 Janet. Thank you for the quick reply. I was planning to do 25% Finn 75%Alpaca. I’m in the process of sampling now. The Finn percentage does look a bit sparse. I was wondering about that. My drum carder is old and doesn’t have a brush so I was only able to get one pass. It was enough to accomplish layering so that I could pull off strips to hand card. I considered combining, but the cards are portable and allow for more opportunity on the go. I’m one of the crazies that like hand carding, so I’m good with that. Your help is very much appreciated. jacki

Hmm 🤔, I would get the obvious ones out. However the amount of lumps I had in that fleece said more about the fleece than it did the usual amount I take out when doing this. If you are going to stitch the quilt, I think the lumps might show. You could do a little mini batt/quilt and test?
Hopefully you've gotten an answer for your question somewhere. But just in case you haven't, wool top is a type of preparation of the fiber. It means it's been processed to have the fibers parallel to each other
Ever since I heard how much angora rabbits suffer being plucked forcibly several times , I cringe when I hear the word angora . I’m not saying you can’t use it, but for myself I decided never to buy or use it myself. There are other soft luxury fibers enough for sale that are way more Animal friendly . I love them too much , to ignore this suffering for my hobby or luxury ..

Sorry for the late reply. The carder I am working on is 96 tines per inch. It's a good all rounder carding cloth

This is a Majacraft fusion engine and it comes in a range of tpi 72,96, and 128. The drums are interchangeable.

Short angora fibres are not the best quality! If you trim your angora bunny every 4 months you should get a length of about 2 inches.
