I'll never forget the look on my dad's face and how he said ''Exactly'' when Louie talked about the tech advancements you see my dad was born in the 1920's so he literally got to watch cinema go from Silent his first film Nosferatu 22 to Dracula 31 to this 94 with the same astonishment
That’s amazing: my grandmother was born in ‘31 and was floored by her first viewing of “The Wizard of Oz” in theater. She had never seen colored (or even Technicolored) live-action film (aside from some cartoon films) before in her life and recalls how everyone there cheered when it appeared on screen.
This was kind of the same with my dad. He was a kid when phones went from operators, to rotary, to button dials, to cellphones, to smartphones. He never thought he would live long enough to see the same technology he saw in science fiction movies become reality.
Wait time, table error here...He was made a vampire in 1794, but he states he hadent seen a sunrise in 200 years...which would have made it 1994...movies had long been around since then.
@@michaelrmarra That fits since even in the novels Lestat claims that Louis either misinformed some events or outright didn't mention them. Then again, Lestat himself twisted many facts too just for the heck of it.
@@michaelrmarrawell, he said “in 200 years”: archaically, “in” could imply “within” 200 years; he had only been an immortal for roughly 100 - 110 or so years when first witnessing the first films in the late 1890’s - early 1900’s. You have to understand context. Technically, you could also infer that “200 years” could infer “two centuries” which he has lived through, starting in the late 18th till the early 20th when he saw these first films featuring true sunlight and not stage-lighting: Louis’s lived through the 18th, 19th, and 20th Centuries. Again, technically that’s two…

This particular montage actually became a Hollywood classic🎬🍿🎥
one of the best clips in cinematic history IMO
Without question my favorite part of a criminally underrated movie
Same! my dad was born in the 1920's so he literally got to watch cinema go from Silent to what we know of today with the same astonishment

Chalk it up to dramatic embellishment for the benefit of his interviewer - and us.
