Personally I would highly recommend this game but the pc version as all clans are available for purchase. I have it on console, phone and pc and the pc is the best for this game really enjoy it on my steam deck so much to do and finding the right clan that works for you.
Medieval Dynasty, well totally different game genre, but it got a lot of the same elements and features. It´s a Huge game, but VERY SOLID and active dev´s
Is it as fast paced as RA2 or StarCraft, or as polished, no. But for $5 it's quite good. I really liked the story quest which sort of serves as a "tutorial". Embedding the Viking history and culture in this RTS is also good.
"Is NorthGuard Worth It?" - I find it very "Meh." It depends on purchase price and if you can tolerate the annoying and strict happiness metric. It's overdone on normal mode and should be relaxed just a bit I think. If there was no hard or extreme mode, as in normal being the top level, then I would say it's fine. It isn't, therefore it isn't. There are other caveats as well. Map generation is not great. I have had maps on normal mode that absolutely made the game nearly virtually unplayable at that level. I have maps on hard mode that made the game much easier than it should be. Map generation needs to be adjusted for sure. I have played maps against the AI that were ridiculously beneficial to me and the AI was never able to get off the starting line. Also found that non-allied AI clans will team attack you. Should you manage to fend them off, they can recoup larger numbers and strike again before you get several villagers to recoup your military. Another consideration would be if one wants to play multiplayer. In that case it may be fine? I don't do multiplayer. I am kind of over social rejects behind keyboards.
This game is bad compared to it, if u wanna pay hella money for it go for NG if you wanna play a decent game that I have fallen in love with, manor lords not AS slow paced as NG but more in depth and soon the devs will be coming out with stone as a resource so hopefully castles are on the way
This game is painfully average. The idea is sound but some of the econ mechanics are half-baked and just suck to fun out of what could have been a great game.
The in game cosmetics are bought with in game currency obtained by just completing stuff. As for lots of dlcs, most are very cheap and the game is frequently on sale. And frankly most the dlcs are just new clans and not really "required" for anything. It's all in all a decent game. Nothing amazing but if you pick it up during a steam sale you'll probably not be disappointed. Also.
They put the game on sale very regularly, give lots of free updates, and keep fun new clans coming after 6 years... They're not perfect but if they aren't fair I don't know what is, if you have the funds and enjoy RTS games I think it's worth, but if all you look at is the dlc and think man they're trying to sucker they're player base... Then you'd be right most games (like Destiny or dead by daylight) but northgard is a little different, in my humble opinion. Have a great day !
@@christophersebastiao7501 This is a good and challenging rts. It's not as fast paced as starcraft, but you need to always have a plan of what to do next.

Totally agree
Woudl really like to see another game similar to this from the devs but set in medieval.
Have you tried the southern kingdoms? they are quite different to play as from the Viking clans.
Just play aoe2
That's nothing like northgard.... And I'd rather play AoE 4 anyway.@@lordlopikong6940
Manor Lords?

Lmao, love the 'De Niro' edit :'D. Thanks for the nice brief, "free" of spoilers introduction to Northgard!
i really want a fast paced RTS like red alert 2 again. i dont know why nobody is willing to create it.
at this point i just want it remastered with mod options
check out tempest rising. It will release soon hopefully
Or empire earth 2... 😢
The Age of Empires series is going strong. The revamped and expanded 2 is awfully intense, and the more modern 4 isn't slow either
Check out " Beyond All Reason " also you are welcome and enjoy! :)
Great Video. Thanks for sharing
Is good if you have a couple of friends who like rts age of empires games, and would wait for the game till its discount
no need to wait until the discount. its already cheap af and worth all its money in its entirety.
6,99€ right now on Steam
on sale now I got it for about 2.30usd
3.99$ on steam now

It´s a good game, a big update just came out. Solid!
Thank you.
I like this game I just wish there was more story to it like a dlc or something jsit to give you more story aspects to the game
@@TrueRandomization there is in the story mode you start out as the stag clan and meet the rest of the free clans
"Full De Niro" over the color purple. 🤣
Can you config skirmishes?
tried it on android, best rts so far in mobile

Nope, it’s not worth driving into it. Unless you wanna spend $100 on a $20 game
I only bought the base game for £5 on steam. I can live without all the other factions lol. But yes, this game has too much dlc
