I have met so many people like this in my life and my favorite thing about them is that they are ALWAYS their own downfall. Especially after giving them a little nudge in the right direction haha. I haven't been on the boards for a while, but there's always been an awful lot of people that 4chan has not jived with and given the cold shoulder, to the point of trips getting hassled over several boards. There's a hive mindset that you develop after a while on there, which makes newcomers or egomaniacs stand out pretty badly

I unfortunately remember who this guy is, he is hard to forget after completely altering my love for TF2 and it's community.
I ran into him on Skial 2fort at 1am one night, and he seemed to develop a hatred towards me due to mocking him while he was insulting the dozen other players there at the time. He got in contact with members of a 4chan group I was friends with at the time, and they proceeded to stalk me through multiple different games throughout October 2022 to February 2023. It got so bad that I ended up abandoning the account all together, which sucked because it was my first Steam account ever (created after I got a laptop for my 18th birthday), and TF2 had by far become my favorite game at that point in my life.
The three most noticeable interactions I had with them include the following:
1. On a bot filled casual lobby, two guys in the voice chat start talking about a friend of theirs faking depression and ''unaliveing'' thoughts. This was noticeable because I had had a mental health crisis from 2020 to 2023 that caused me to attempt ''unaliveing'' my self multiple times, and became basically a closet shut in scared of interacting with strangers period. The most I would go out was for my job but by 2023 I had become so paranoid that I had stopped coming in to work and haven't had a job since.
2. In TF2 Classic, Venusian and one of the guys from the previous interaction were on the same server I joined, and they tried to get me to follow one of them into some part of the map so they could just kill me I guess. It didn't work for them and I ended up killbinding at the end of the round because it was one of those garbage 4chan themed maps with bright colors and anime drawings over every single part of the map. He had gotten a lot of the chat to join in the antics as well.
3. This was just before you released this video on him. It was Skial 2fort again, and Venusian appeared in the voice chat, saying ''I know where you are'' and I'm coming for you.'' before flying in as a Trolldier, only for me to snipe him before he could reach me. I taunted, he disconnected immediately, and that was the last I heard of him due to your video coming out.
A few months after abandoning my old account, I proceeded to delete it entirely through Steam Support so that I wouldn't be trolled or stalked anymore. It was roughly $1,300 dollars down the drain, including my 345 games I had bought and god knows how much I spent on TF2 items. I made the decision to move some of these items over to an account I no longer use before deleting this account. I haven't had a ''main'' Steam account for the last year now, the longest I stay on one account is 2 months at the most, because of my paranoia of running into these people again.
I've kept the username on occasion, though I have decided to abandon the name from this point on. If you ever ran into a huntsman sniper with a Ken Ashcorp profile pic by the name of ''abstract314'', I'm sorry I was such a nuisance to you or if I ever annoyed you in game before. But I've decided for my own sanity to abandon that username entirely.

I never played TF2, not on a huge scale anyway, but trolling for me back then was like in Minecraft with random traps or teleports to mess with someone

I keep coming back to this video, idk why, but something always draws me back to it.
I guess this video truly describes how I feel about tf2 in a sense, its no longer the place to go and have fun (outside of casual maybe) but almost every match just has a Venusian, a toxic, cheating, scum bag, whos only goal is to ruin your day.
I miss the old days of f2 when you could enter a match and have Fun, where I could meet new players and talk to them, where cheaters were kicked the second they joined, where memories where made.
I will still love the game, its holds a big place in my heart, but nowadays I can barely play it.
I don't even play tf2, but I can empathize with the people who have been playing this game for close to 20 years
I genuinely feel as though I am the one exception to this. In all my almost 700 hrs of playing TF2, I have run into these issues once in casual(the match was 90% composed of cheaters). Almost casual game I’ve played so far, everyone I played with was welcoming and friendly, constantly small talking with one another, asking “how was your day” or “what’s your favorite food”, or just silent and not salty. I often see friendlies who are actually friendly. Bots are usually kicked quickly from matches, and I’ve almost never run into a toxic jackass in any casual server.
Honestly, the thing I could recommend is probably community servers. Cannot say how much it does work with tf2, but in other games, you can find either forums or discord servers with people that you enjoy to be with, and play in their servers or at least in one squad with them. Also UA-camrs’ communities may be a good start for obvious reasons (if you both enjoy creator, then you at least may share the same humour), and those servers are also way more actively moderated. Hope it could restore at least a bit of your fun and enjoyment

Plenty of people have faced repercussions both on-site and out (like, law enforcement) for their activity there. If you do anything illegal, you get banned and the site admins send a tip to the authorities about the material you shared. If you do something seen as unsavory you could be banned, but it's more than likely to be temporary than permanent.
What I'm trying to say here is "being exiled from 4chan means you fucked up badly" isn't true. Like every other online social media, 4chan and its users have standards, they're just a lot lower and cruder than most.

I don't really care about TF2 or the community around it but youtube recommended me your video. It's a pretty good yet horrifying video about an awful person. Crazy to think only a few years ago I made several meme edits of some selfie he posted in a hugbox discord server when he had YET ANOTHER BREAKDOWN in the drawthreads after he "left" the first time, this got me the title of: "The guy who has been harassing him from the shadows for YEARS". around 2 years ago i met this dude, back when i did not have an art tablet so my drawings were much more flat for the lack of a better term. he was doing a viceo about friendlies being the bane of TF2, and even called me a groomed twitter artist. i only found out he made a video in the first place because he personally went into my steam user profile and sent me the video, with pretty much everyone attacking my drawings, not with criticism but just insults. It genuinely made me feel terrible and as much as some friends tried to combat it with coments on the video and to me privately, it didnt help out and they kept it up. 2 years later i remembered this piece of garbage existed and decided to look him up. From what it seems karma decided to make his downfall a big one, and i couldnt be happier to be perfectly honest. everything else that has been found out about him to me is just icing on the cake. for wuite a while my youtube inbox would actually get notifications from replies to the comments so id kept being reminded of the bs i got called.
I know its been like 7 months since you said this but I hope you're doing better now. I really really do hope you continued doing art anyway and didnt listen to scum like him because im certain you'll grow to be an incredible artist if you keep doing what youre doing even with flat drawings, I mean there are people out there that just draw stickmen and they gain crazy views so i have no doubt that you could do amazing things if you keep going. Fatmagic was right that Venusian was close to getting away with all of this if he didnt talk about his shortcomings, cheating, vorobey or fatmagic.
If he didn't stir drama closest to his insecurities, he would have still had more people watching his videos.
But he always concerned me because he indeed was manipulative and everyone who he played with was somehow supposed to "outwit" him whilst he was accusing and cursing them.

She was just rightfully mentioning that she put herself in some of those situations when she had ample opportunity and motive/reason to leave earlier (like the hotel incident). It's a good realization for her to have because it will cause her to consider leaving earlier if this happens with someone else she finds herself with in the future.
It's not "victim-blame" or whatever to realize that. What he did was on him and is still wrong, yes. But the only real way to lessen the impact of this kind of victimization is to give the victims ample advice as how to avoid being put in these situations at all for the future.
Yeah, people SHOULDN'T be the way Venusian is, but if it were that easy to get people to not be bad people, then murder wouldn't happen anymore because we made it illegal.
