    Wow, that took a long time considering it's been blooming so long. I planted one from a 1 gal. pot last year here in Costa Rica and got fruit in under a year. It's one of my new favorite fruits because it makes great smoothies with cold milk and sugar or just use water and it's like a non-citrus lemonade. You can grow them from seed pretty easy too, they just take several months to germinate. I planted some from my first fruits and thought they had died only to notice they had germinated like 6 months later.

      Yeah they have an amazing flavour, my climate is the dry subtropics so plants take a bit longer to fruit here.

      It's taken a while G, some of these eugenias need a few years practice

      Yeah Brett and they should get bigger than this, this is a very large eugenia.

    What would you liken the taste of it to before adding it to something else please ??

    • @dougs_urbanfarm
      @dougs_urbanfarm  5 місяців тому

      Can't really compare it to anything, slightly tropical but has its own particular taste

    Hey mate, i know you're running a small channel, and it might be hard to find motivation sometimes. Just want you to know i love these videos, as someone else with a 1/2 acre block in brisbane doing exactly this.

    • @dougs_urbanfarm
      @dougs_urbanfarm  4 місяці тому

      Cheers mate I appreciate that. I mainly do the videos to connect with other rare fruit lovers, I work full time and to be honest I don't really love making videos but when i first started I couldn't find many people in our area that were really into rare fruit so I thought I'd give it a go.
      If you are in Brisbane you should come to one of the sub tropic fruit club meetings, next one is at 6:30pm on the 13th of June at the Albion Peace Centre,
      it's a good place to grab some free fruit trees!
