Want to donate to the channel? You can buy me a shawarma! 😂 But really, I just found out this website "buy me a coffee" exists and created an account, because, well, why not? I really just appreciate your support by watching my videos and I'm not asking you to donate, but, if you feel like it, now there's a place you can. Donations will probably just go to me making more street food videos. Here's the link: www.buymeacoff...

Hungary is a stunning country, but being in Egypt makes you feel welcomed everywhere, and everyone seems to be part of your family. However, when walking in Budapest, it feels like you are lonely.
It's definitely more quiet in Budapest than in Cairo. The weather is cooler, which is nice 😅 I don't feel lonely in Budapest, but of course it is a different country with different lifestyle and vibes. I am not going to say one country is better than the other, they are just different. Obviously, I prefer Egypt, which is why I live in Egypt and not Hungary
great video spent time two years ago in Budapest on way to Passau, Austria the goulash with real Hungarian paprika is great next to Austria and Egypt Hungary is one of the best places i have been lucky enough to visit
14:20 The real goulash is a soup made from beef. What they brought you was just the base, from which the soup is made with potatoes, nokedli, carrots, etc. by adding 'Gulyásleves' soup (goulash + soup) is soup and the best food in the world.
Greetings from Budapest. I'm glad you came here!
Thank you! Yes I did have a goulash soup before filming this video, I was actually expecting that when i ordered it. But! It was still delicious nonetheless. I love Budapest, it's a beautiful city with great food and lots of nice people 🥰
Noooo we gonna miss you here Gi in Egypt so baaad.. please don't take long and come back.
Hello from the uk. 🇬🇧 this video was very interesting and informative. I miss Egypt a lot. Still saving to go back. 😊
Egypt is waiting for you 😁 ❤️Anytime I leave Cairo I enjoy my travels, but there's a piece of me just itching to go back too. I love it a lot, VERY happy to live in Egypt 😍
It is nice to get away from the oppressive heat of the Egyptian summer. There is an annual airshow held in Budapest and the airplanes fly low and slow over the Danube River right by that amazing building-not certain if it is Parliament Building or Castle. I believe that airshow is in the summer, don’t remember. It is amazing to me the comfort you have with these hostels. I had to sleep in barracks when in the military service but the thought to sleeping in a room with strangers while travelling, I would be afraid to do that. Enjoy your travels and keep safe.
That looks like the beef stew my grandmother use to make. I bet it was delicious. Those are some of my favorite segments of your videos. The food. Makes me hungry every time. Lol. Another great video G.❤
Thanks Charlie! Trying new food is always one of my favorite parts of travel ❤️
Beautiful, I hope to see you in Milan, Italy, what an honor🥰🥰🥰
G this was my first solo city. So easy no intimidation. Went during the winter markets.. Loved it. Stayed in in a hostel. Cool people cool times
Yeah Budapest is great! I will definitely go back, I love the vibes, and the city is beautiful.
Giselle you are the Giselle of all time
😂🙏
I hope you enjoy whereever you go... ❤🎉🎉 I love Europe so much.. People have respect and polite
after seeing the tour you did to the new administrative capital im in love with this channel, i wish i could be like you when i grow up a travel vlogger!
That's so sweet, thank you Sirenzs 🙂🙏
Helpful video, Gisselle, covering several useful aspects of your visit to Budapest.
I was there on a brief visit many years ago when I did a coach tour of "Historic European Cities". I remember being impressed by the beautiful architecture, and I also remember visiting the iconic Heroes' Square which is a major attraction in the city.
Thank you for giving us your perspective of one of the great cities of Europe.
At the same time, I could tell that you were itching to get back to your beloved Egypt, and I look forward to your next offering from there, which I know will be interesting!
😀William
Haha, thank you William! Yes Budapest is very beautiful and I feel fortunate for being able to visit this lovely city. And you are also correct in thinking I am excited to go back to Egypt - I always miss her when I am away, Egypt has really stolen my heart ❤️
I hope your visit is short and sweet, all the love from an Egyptian fan in Cairo❤
Shukran! ❤️🙏
I'm planing to be there in October.
Happy 4th! BBQ ribs and potato salad. Hope you had a great one. 😉🎇🧨🎆
Gotta find myself a way to grill my own food! I miss that a lot. Happy 4th man, hope you had a great BBQ!
@@GventuresThank you. Time to introduce Cairo to the American art of BBQ. 😊
UA-cam recommended me your channel and I've been following you for about a couple of months, im an Egyptian and now living with my Hungarian wife in Budapest. We would have loved to actually get to show you the city a bit better and def. Get to say hello but maybe we can invite you for a coffee or sth when we are in Cairo later this year after the beautiful summer weather cools down 😁
Oh damn, wish I would have met you guys in Budapest too! Would have been cool to meet some people that know more about the city than myself. But yes, message me when you two are in Cairo, would love to grab a coffee 🥰 (can't wait for the cooler temps too 😅)
@@Gventures yesss, hopefully next time thou! We can surely give you a glimpse of the city ☺️And that sounds good! Will dm you on Instagram, just found out you've one today 😅 keep up the good work and exploring Egypt! Love your approach and glad to see people are so nice and welcoming too! ☺️
@@Kariemessi Haha, yeah I put it in the description but probably not a lot of people actually click on the description. Look forward to hearing from you. Take care! ☺🙏
Cool!
Thanks Fintan! 😁🙏
Thank's for the Budapest tour, enjoyed it .......see you on the next video 🙂🙂🙂👍
Shukran Nabil! Next video back in Cairo, I'm ready for it! 😍
Thank you for your video and all the tips. I will be there some day!
Nice trip, some countries are organized and clinical. Then some counties are chaotic and vibrant. Give me the latter any day!
Absolutely, couldn't agree more!!! ❤❤
What a surprise! A good video, as always, but look forward to next Egyptian one. What made u decide on a trip there?
Visiting my mother! She went on a trip there, and as I don't want to fly back to the US and I hadn't seen her in a few years, I figured it was the perfect opportunity 😁
@@Gventures lovely for u both hope was really nice catchup
@@judithmartin6896 Yes it was 🥰
Welcome to my hometown, dear Gisselle! I am really impressed that you pronounce the name of the capital city correctly! I would be happy to meet you for a little chat. How about that?
Beautiful City.
Thank you for sharing 🌷
Have fun darling
Not a fan of the term darling or dear, but thanks, I did have fun! 😁
I am from Egypt. I hope to meet you at least once
I live in Alexandria and will travel to Cairo 😊😊
I am so shocked!!! Not Cairo? That's it, I am gone, LOL, really, pretty cool video as always. Be safe.
Ha. Nah I take trips every so often. Earlier this year Dubai, last year Bali, the year before Turkey. But I prefer motorbike trips, hoping to do that when the weather cools
What a great hostel. I’ve wanted to go back and will have to check this one out. Kind of a bummer to hear it’s gotten so expensive. But I guess that’s to be expected!
Must be nice to be able to film without being mobbed by the locals. It looks so calm and peaceful compared to Cairo. And there you go with your "costed" again, ha, ha, ha. Thanks for another wonderful video, and from one American to another, enjoy your upcoming 4th of July! 😉
It is calm and peaceful, which to me translates to a bit boring, at least at this current moment in my life 😅 But Budapest is a very beautiful city, I just choose to live in Cairo because it's a lot more lively and I love the energy! And the food and people and music, etc. etc.
I don't understand the "costed" thing with you, you know it's a word, right??😂
I'm not a big "patriot" or whatever, I also chose to leave the US for reasons, and don't ever intend to live there again, but....eat a burger for me 😆
@@GventuresYou're correct, costed is a word, my apologies. 😟 Must be a regional thing. Budapest does look beautiful, and we'll definitely enjoy something off the grill for you on the 4th. I'm not a good patriot either. 😉
@@fv1291 Lol, I do miss some American BBQ though, I must admit. I don't have space for a grill on my apartment balcony without burning the building down, so I can't grill my own food, or I would have made some BBQ chicken ages ago 😅I joked that I would just get a grill and cook it in the street outside my building, surrounded by a pack of hungry dogs and cats and getting stared at by my neighbors like I am insane "What is that foreign lady doing now?!" 😆😂
We are waiting for the sahel...matrouh vlog... Please don't hestitate ti finnaly do it
Not in the summer, it's too hot and I want to ride my motorcycle to Marsa Matruh
unfortunately 2900 HUF for the goulash is considered cheap here at the moment. Crazy high prices, crazy low wages. For eg. the european "home depot" called OBI has like a canteen in it, and there food costs 2200 HUF which is not a lot cheaper.
But u can find gulyas soup for 8-9000 HUF easy in turist trap places so ypu were good at the restaurant :)
Thank you for that information. I had heard inflation was on the rise in Hungary, and I suppose that is evident by the many places I visited. Sucks. But still delicious food and a beautiful city! And cheaper than many other places in Europe.
17:40 In Budapest, you can only sleep under the bridge for 5 (five) dollars. 🤕
😆 Damn man
Yay! Budapest 😍 I loved it there!
Yes it's a beautiful city! ❤️
I know in history, the Mongol empire has conqured most of Europe from 1100-1500s. They were almost the size of the British empire, and Genghis Khan and his sons conqured China, and leveled that country, went around the wall. And they went past through the Middle East and Turkey. Thats why, half of the world has dna from Genghis Khan, he was ruthless. Then from there the Tatar tribes, were in Turkey and settled in parts of Europe, until the Ottoman empire came arose too. My country Bosnia, has a lot of history. From the Roman empire, to Ottoman empire, WW1 started in Bosnia, WW2, and the recent Yugoslavia civil war the past 30 years, and The Mongol Empire didin't make it in Bosnia, the Mideavil Knights repelled the attack. But the Mongols made it far in Hungary and Austria, parts of Russia and Ukraine were all captured. All by horseback. Europe has a lot of intresting history. Also, Bosnia has a history of the Illryan tribe, and in Albiania. These times were around, when ancinet Greece was around. And Egypt and Greeks shared history, and culture with one another, thousands of years ago.
Yep. This information is able to be found in books, I've read some of it. I'm not from Bosnia though, with no current plans on visiting, so I haven't researched it and don't currently have a huge interest in doing so
The country and the city... I've been there before. But it doesn't really suit you... make sure you get back home as soon as possible...Egypt ❤
🤣🤣 It is very beautiful for a visit, but yes, I much prefer living in Egypt! I am excited to get back to Cairo, though this brief trip has been a nice experience ☺️
Budapest!! How could you leave us 💔
Hahaha 😆
Enjoy your time 😊❤
At Frici papa's (to be pronounced Fritzi, meaning Uncle Fred's tavern) you had beef stew, however gulyás - which is thought to be a stew - is actually a beef soup with vegetables, so you will have to try it as well, I mean the real one!
Ahaha, well thanks for clearing that up! I said "Freaky Papa's" and as soon as i said it, thought "Nah....I'm not going with that name" 😂 I have since tried more goulash or gulyas that was more of a soup and had vegetables, it was also very delicious! I am so far loving all the Hungarian food I have tried. Thank you! 🙏
@@Gventures With pleasure, Gisselle. I am really sorry I didn't know about your arrival earlier. I do hope you will be back some time!
@@fadohungaro Yeah, that's the trouble with UA-cam, unless it's a live video, it's always usually a few days later from filming to upload time. But thank you! And I would like to return, it really is a nice city, I liked it a lot. I was in Vienna a few days before Budapest and, not trying to knock Vienna, but I much, much preferred Budapest 😅 City is beautiful and has vibes 😎
@@Gventures Thank you for your words! There's still a lot to see, believe me!
Come visit Germany 😊
Your visit to Hungary was a surprise. Have you finished your visit to Egypt once and for all?!
Haha, no way! Next video is going to be Egypt again, it was just a quick trip 😄
@@Gventures I am very happy to have you among us in Egypt. I hope that your trips inside Egypt or inside Cairo include visits to modern parks and places for shopping and entertainment. I miss you very much.
@@papa3amr158 Oh of course I have been to some parks and shopping malls, I filmed the fseekh video inside one of the parks 😁 But honestly I do not like shopping, so I don't go to malls. Also, not allowed to film inside the malls anyway.
Next video I will be back in Cairo! 😁😍
Hey Gisselle, amazing posts of life in the real world as usual!! Totally unrelated random question tho but any idea the best way to get to Aswan from Cairo on a budget especially if only have 36hrs from when arrive to when leave Cairo, lol??
Thanks Eddie!
Ah, I think you already know what my answer will be 😅 Best way from Cairo to Aswan, with that kind of time frame?! A flight. Even then, you will be pushing it. Why do you want to rush down to Aswan? There is no other way to get there with the time you have, a train takes like 19 hours, a bus even longer because you have to take local buses part of the way, there isn't a bus like Go Bus that gets you all the way there. Yeah, no such thing as budget when it comes to tight time schedules, sorry 😕
@@Gventures Thank-you Gisselle, hmm yeah I know dilemma!! Not that tight an itinerary overall for my trip but just didn't fancy Cairo apart from a day doing all the pyramids thingy, lol! I've travelled loads places and think like yourself prefer to experience the local way so not daunted by a long travel day. Was hoping to go by 1st class Spanish train but don't think will get there in time to book tickets, agh! Online/group chat not that helpful, even my hostel staying in ((Madina) not too helpful, bless em. Not to worry sure will wing it somehow, ha ha!! Guess you're outa Budapest now, was there few yrs ago, loved it. Hope managed visit the ruin bars or even the 'musical fountains'. Thanks for taking the time to reply, much appreciated and looking forward to watching your next post......
@@eddielecornu4003 Well, there's plenty of local things to do in Cairo too, but if big cities isn't your thing, then yeah you will hate it 😂Long days of travel is certainly a part of budget traveling ahaha, I think the longest bus ride I've been on was 24 hours from the capital of Laos to the capital of Vietnam during Tet. I don't know anything about the Spanish bus, I usually just take the cheapest option with GoBus, and the bus does take a long time to get down there, definitely not within the time frame you were mentioning.
Budapest was great! My friend also has a YT channel and made a video about the ruin bars a few years back so yeah, I know about them, it's a gorgeous city with lots of history, I just didn't research that much about it! Good luck with figuring out your route to Aswan 🙏
Great! A change for the egyptian lady!
Just a quick trip. I might not be an Egyptian, but I'm excited to get back to Cairo
@@Gventures i know u are from the us, just saying as u are almost egyptian now!
@@edwin8808 Haha ❤🙏
Are you still in Budapest Hungary?
No I'm back in Cairo now
take me there please !
Hi! Budapest local here. The prices at the restaurant Frici papa is kinda the lowest you will get at the city. Around 8 usd for a goulash is not really normal. I eat at local places and I pay around 11-14 usd for a similar thing and even that is not that expensive.
Wow! So that was a good deal....thanks for letting me know! I am just unaccustomed to these prices after living in Egypt I guess 😅 Really good food though, I was unexpectedly and pleasantly surprised with Hungarian food! And Budapest is beautiful ❤️
Compared to the average Hungarian salary, it is expensive!
@@fadohungaro I'm not even sure what the average salary of a Hungarian citizen is, but $8 USD for a meal isn't that great in my opinion either. And $11-$14 is crazy! I was talking to a local guy while there that was telling me nobody eats out anymore because it's so expensive, only visitors are eating at restaurants. While I am sure that isn't entirely true, I get his point. Inflation around the world in the last few years has been insane
@@Gventures The net (!) salary of an average Hungarian person is around $ 800 (not according to official statistics, but according to reality) a month. The cost of living - particularly in Budapest - is very high compared to the salaries. And yes, the person you met said it right: it is no longer typical of Hungarians to go to restaurants or to those beautiful Turkish-era baths on the Buda side of the river Danube as they cannot afford these anymore.
@@fadohungaro Yeah, that's not a high salary for the cost of living. I live in Egypt and don't make a lot of money, but more than most Egyptians make. Still, prices in Budapest were high for me. Inflation sucks
Hi Giselle its 12.31am here in good old Melbourne Town ,I got big surprise , you are in the country of my birth as I am Hungarian and yes speak the language, its on the cards a visit in the near future, have not been their for many years, I have a question why Hungary ? I love goulash my favorite soup yum I make it sometimes well as always loved your video travel safe Hugs Evie xoxo
I was meeting someone here, actually. But I've also always had an interest to go, I've heard good things about Budapest. It hasn't disappointed! And the food has been a pleasant surprise! Love it, the paprikash is also delicious!

The weather is cooler. That alone makes it more "walkable." But I already miss my motorcycle
On what visa you are on in egypt? Do you have to apply again after a trip like this?
You may have noticed I don't ever answer that question, and I don't intend to 😂 But I am making a video about the Sphinx Airport on my way back in, and will be showing the visa on arrival in that video
@@Gventures at least i feel honoured that you did not forgot me..😁

Do you have plans to go back to Egypt?
Oh yeah, this is just a quick trip. I love Egypt too much to leave for good 😅

@@markshaw1966 Maybe! I never know where I'll be at a certain time, I can be pretty spontaneous, but also am planning a motorbike trip for the winter. But message me and see what happens! And good luck with the visa stuff 😎
@@Gventures Will do 😁😁
if you speak Arabic and hear thank you in Hungarian for the first time 😶.
😄🫢
@@Gventures it happened to me the first time I was there back in 1981, I still remember one phrase in Hungarian " nem tudom MYgar"
Both the short form *and* the long form haha
As long as you able and willing to behave like a normal human being, the police is not likely to bother you about drinking in public. The law is there to deal with those who don't, and they are going to be caught and fined!
Well, if you live there then you know and can read between the lines to navigate the rules. I'm just a visitor who sees a sign saying "Drinking is illegal and this is the fine" and don't feel like paying 150,000 so I just didn't drink outside. Also asked a local if I could or if it was illegal, they simply said "it's illegal" and didn't elaborate the way you just have.
kose 😂😂 do you know what that mean in Egypt 😂
I didn't when I recorded this video, but I know what it means in Egyptian Arabic now 😳 It's innocent in Hungarian! 😅
