    Terrific presentation and an awesome Gunner's Port build, Chris!! Rivals the studio/movie version in every way. Thanks so much for posting.

    Looks great Chris, I'm so glad Paul at Paragrafix is doing all this photo etch for the Deagostini Falcon. I keep getting my shipments, but can't start until my move to Florida in August and it's driving me CRAZY! (in a good way) All the best!

    Very nice work ! I didn't know the tamiya clear colors worked that well on photo etch. Thanks for the tip.

    Beautiful job, Chris! I sold my LEGO Millennium Falcon to build this DeAgostini model because I decided I wanted a movie accurate model instead of a toy. You have really inspired me on this video, specifically because of your paint technique on the light display! I'm one of those "old timer" model builders who put together a 1/48th diorama of the B-29 Super Fortress Enola Gay many years ago, and actually used optic fibers and tiny hobby drills to wire the lighting for the thing! If you've ever seen the cockpit for this model , you'll understand my frustration! :-) Again, Great job and I hope to get back to mine soon.

    Awesome work. Just subscribed. I am waiting until I have all of the issues before I start my build..just received issues 37-40 so still a ways to go before I begin. I love the use of the post-it note sticky part for those little square pieces...I am definitely stealing that for future use. Great idea!

      Same here. I'm up to issue 46 so far. I noticed that DA are reissuing some pieces due to feedback so I'm going to wait until I've got all pieces before building. That being said I think the various aftermarket mods will still be far superior to DA's offerings. The Paragrafix kits all look excellent additions, as well as Holland's lighting kit.

    Hi Chris,
    i have been watching your DeAgostini Falcon Millennium built for some time. I had started to build mine 3 months ago and I have been working on my Bandai Perfect Grade for some time already.
    Today I came across with a video from a Chinees UA-camr , his channel is HKSFILM. In his DeAgostini Falcon Millenium build he has done all the upgrades that you have done but already included with the Ago Kit. Is The Chinese DeAgostini FM is a more complete version? All the updates are super good and professionally done and included with the kit. Even the wiring. Any comments greatly appreciated.

      I'm not aware of anything other than the engine lights, ramp light and back cockpit wall with the DeAgo. Either the upgrades did not come with the kit, or it's been redesigned in the past 6 years or so.

      No, it comes with 2. But because of the way I have my model mounted, I'm utilizing the bottom gun port area.

    Spectacular build! I can't quite tell from your videos, did you use clear parts for any of the model's windows?

    • @modelsbychris
      @modelsbychris  3 роки тому

      No, I don't use the clear windows. I leave them out. They cause reflections which can make it difficult to see inside. They also did not use clear windows on the studio models.

      @@modelsbychris I just started my kit and found your invaluable videos and already a huge fan. • @modelsbychris
      @modelsbychris  4 роки тому

      @@rahorachty I've had some so through a little to the other side, but not usually. That usually isn't an issue though, cause there's decals to go on the other side, which would cover the stain. But I've also done a bit of careful paint touch up on the stained side.

    Hello Chris, sorry just bought the Millenium Falcon and just found you here. By any chance do you have any list of materials to buy and schema for the customisation you did?

    • @modelsbychris
      @modelsbychris  4 роки тому +1

      No schematics. It was my first time doing electronics and it was on the fly. As for LEDs and fiber, it was primarily all on Ebay. Seller Me80 was what I got a majority. Great guy.

    • @fido2644
      @fido2644 4 роки тому

      Well for led's if you want to do them your self you can just buy the leds and resistors I use 1k resistors when I make my leds depending on my power source too.
      It should cost you maybe 5$ for a assortment of leds on Amazon and another 5$ for 1k resistors but you will have enough to light up at least six or seven models depending on what your looking for.

    • @modelsbychris
      @modelsbychris  4 роки тому

      @@fido2644 I use 390ohm resistors mostly. 1k is a little overkill, and it will dim them a little more.

      Christopher Olson I just rewatched and you’re right. Red screen with yellow objects, back then a display that showed red instead of green was referred to as a color display regardless that it was only red like the original green. Oh well memory is going bad. I still remember a;l the lines from the original untouched trilogy.

      Best just to stick with the model you have and just customize it.
      But a little suggestion for the fiber optic wires when bending them use a hair dryer and heat the area where you want it to bend it will lesson the chance you will break it.
