  • This official model of the iconic Millennium Falcon is a 1:1 replica of the original Empire Strikes Back movie prop buildmillenniumfalcon.com/. It features unique internal details, lighting and movable parts. Easy to construct but with an unprecedented level of realism, It really is the ultimate Millennium Falcon model.

    I don't know what Falcon he is referring to because there were 2 major ILM models
    --The 32" which "Master Replica's did a great job on as a 1:1 replica. Then there is the
    big cahoona--my favorite which is that big 6 foot one which has twice the detail of the
    32" and based on the photographs I have seen you can forget any attempt to make a replica of that one. That is one-of-a-kind!

    Nice especially being able to add the little details that would be impossible to add to a mass produced model as Steve says here @ 6:26 by giving info in the mags to add your own personal touch on the final end results, as I know 0 about modelling/ painting this sounds good for me.
    Sounds expensive but it should be a good project and alot cheaper then the other thousands of £ for other film replica versions out there of the famous falcon. ;]

    The Han figure being painted to become Lando doesn't definitively mean it was used for Return of the Jedi. Lando also flies the Falcon at the end of Empire. If Chewbacca had been replaced by a tiny Nien Nunb, then THAT would mean it was changed for Jedi.

  • @kokkari37
    @kokkari37 7 років тому +1

    The Han figure inside the Falcon was painted into Lando in Empire not Jedi. He is wrong wrong about that. You can see the Lando figure at the end of Empire under the Medical Frigate.

      +divisioneight Actually, almost all of the first 'Tron' was ink-and-painted in Red China. I built a special lightweight magnesium & aluminum 35mm B&H 2709 camera to bolt onto the hotel wall in Hong Kong. Mules carried the work into the PRC and back, my friend filmed the cells (and came back with the roll in his pocket, i suppose. Richard Taylor still won't talk).
      And so sad, when Walt died, the John Birch Society ran out of money.

    Let me educate some of you people here. If this model kit were to be made in US or UK. Most of you probably can't afford it. In addition, the PC or Mac you are using now is mostly likely to be made in "The country shall not be named". (Fyi, I'm born outside that country.) I shall see how such bigotry will last into the next century. He's running a business. If you bitch abt his stuff, go build your own. Plain & simple.

    • @InformantNet
      @InformantNet 8 років тому +1

      +Alex Typical Libertarian "me generation" point of view. Using your standard, since workers in China and India and the Philippines have a lower cost of living and will always work for less than an American (or a Brit), all industry is completely morally justified in moving their factories overseas because the only thing that matters is profit. That's called amorality. Your flippant snark betrays a lack of worldly experience and an abundance adolescent selfishness.

    • @MandalorianFanboy
      @MandalorianFanboy 8 років тому

      +InformantNet Do you have any clue at all how many people in China (and other places) have been lifted out of abject poverty because there is a demand here in the US (and elsewhere) for a $1500 plastic model of the MF? The people working in factories in China making things like this might previously have died from dysentery, or continued to live in squalor with no running water or flushing toilets.

    • @macrick
      @macrick 8 років тому

      InformantNet
      There is no moral in business. Business is Business.

    • @InformantNet
      @InformantNet 8 років тому

      Tron So you're saying American industry (or British) has a moral obligation to take work from Americans (or Brits) in order to move Chinese out of poverty? I did not realize that. So, in other words, any work that can be moved from America SHOULD be moved from America until all peoples of the world are living in abject poverty. Great idea. I imagine, if you're an American, when you go shopping for goods, you avoid anything "Made in U.S.A" and opt for the item made in the poorest country available. That's interesting. Hell, even Mr. Dymszo sounds a bit uncomfortable when he says that his models are made by artisans at "our factory in China," but you're not.

    The MR Falcon ended up only being 80% accurate, which was discovered later by model making veterans who know just about every kind of model kit piece for detailing usable off by hart, in almost all types of kits. To many parts on the MR were scratch built, and quite badly. The Reason Why. time stamp 00.30, They only spent a 7 days recording what parts were used on it, and as stated, "what could be found". To correctly record every part and its kit history, takes months and months. The DeAgostini is only 30% accurate, and only in its proportions. As all the detail is separate and moulded into the large pieces which are not accurate at all, because its all injection moulded. So the whole thing looks like a giant toy when its finished. NOT WORTH THE MONEY.

    • @Solarstar10
      @Solarstar10 9 років тому +2

      The finished kit isn't just a piece of plastic. It has a full metal frame, working electronics such as lighting and an automatic bay door, ridiculous detail inside and out, and the main pieces are actually cast in high quality resin. It's also in scale to the actual filming miniature used on set. Basically what you're getting with this kit is closest thing you can get to the actual screen used kit. Plus no one is forcing you to buy it anyway. This is really only for diehard Star Wars fans, and lovers of model making.

      Paul Nobody stops you from scratch building the falcon for less than that.
      I'm quite sure all the research and building the molds, all the work that has to be done first without earning a dime took quite a big amount of money (china or not) which all has to be earned back in order to just get to 0. The lego falcon is smaller and costs twice the amount of money.
      Ok, one issue costs 15$. Now subtract what the store gets from that and the production cost and the shipping to the stores and maybe licensing fees for Disney and other stuff I forget to mention.
      So, if you can't afford it, change that.

    • @oneplumpboi5317
      @oneplumpboi5317 8 років тому

      I said it once, i'll say it again. If you can't put aside a bare minimal $20 per week, get a better job. Also, it's $80 p/w if you buy it separately from the stores.

    • @HauntHouse
      @HauntHouse 8 років тому

      +Fagdalf The Gay Jobs are one way, selling videotutorials or other
      knowledge or skills is another. In other words: starting to be self
      employed. Adding value to the market place. Of course that means to follow goals, set targets, think strategically and get knowledge in psychology, and marketing philosophy (Jay Abraham is good).
      Still, making the falcon from scratch has an incredible appeal. Not sure whether that's actually much cheaper though.
      Bottom line, if you can't !!comfortably!! set aside 20$ per week, your life needs improvement and you're not the target audience, yet...

    • @oneplumpboi5317
      @oneplumpboi5317 8 років тому

      HauntHouse Making strong durable props cost $1000+ to make. And considering that this is studio-durable is good, since it has to be able to stand up to abuse.

    • @HauntHouse
      @HauntHouse 8 років тому

      +Fagdalf The Gay I don't need a 1000 bucks for that. Plywood, easily cut and glued, goes a long way if you include mostly triangles. You could even recycle wood and glue it together. Just don't ask how much money one could make in the time one needs to research all the greebly details...if you don't just photograph all the model parts at the local store ( :
      Just checked: 1mm steel sheet metal 1000x2000mm costs 33 euros. 3 sheets should be plenty to sturdy everything out, probably 2. It becomes amazingly stiff once you bend it. add a few square pipes to the mix if you want to. Problem would more be the needed machinery. Cutting, bending and welding metal takes some investment. Riveting might be cheaper. But again, if you can't comfortably buy a few machines, get a better job, right?
