not just time , tools and resources ..also
knowledge about electronics..fantastic job, congrats
This model is incredible with all of the extra work you have put into it. Very nice, looking forward to seeing it complete.
i just came across these randomly and marathoned all of them. can't wait to see the rest!
Really great Chris, one day I'll have the tools patience and skills. Fantastic work!
Fantastic as always. You are definitely leading the charge
binge watched this whole series...man, respect. absolute effing legend.
I love your videos so much! So much love and time is put into this, amazing keep the work!
Un boulot incroyable, the best falcon i have ever see.
Very important to have caution lights on a ship flying through space at the speed of light. It'll make it much easier for other space craft also flying at the speed of light to see you. Kidding aside...what an incredible model build. Well done sir!!
Really Astonishing work!
Thank you
fantastic realy can't describe how great this model is .fantastic work .
Outstanding work!!!!
The mirrors are a very cool idea.
I can´t hardly wait the final video!!!!!!!
Greetings from Mexico City!!!
Perfection my friend perfection.
Increadible work!!
amazing my friend
great build!! really sad that the model never reached our shores in South Africa, even after numerous emails to DeAgostini, the closest ill get to this beauty is only through these videos!!
www.model-space.com/gb/international-delivery The UK web Site are now offering the Millenium falcon for 899 GB pounds with international delivery at 99 Pounds, but you will get customs fee
no words is magestic!
those mirrors were a brilliant idea
Good work!
Hi Great vids, at 3:07 you are talking about drilling holes, on the escape pods, just left and right of the holes you are drilling these are the parts that let this kit down and every other kit of the MF (they look like angle brackets) 2 bottom and 2 top either side they should be more like a piston shape thank you for posting these great video's
Outstanding!
she may not look like much, but you did a lot of special modifications yourself so she has it where it counts.
great job
Fantastic, the interior details added look amazing it almost makes me sad my Falcon will not be on display with the interior visible.
mine will actually be on display as in flight, and not open. I'll just open at times to show people
Well then those people that are fortunate enough to get that show are in for a treat. I am really happy you chose to do the red exterior lights. I plan to do those on mine and wondered how the Shapeways parts would work out. I am sold, thank you for sharing your project.
I made mine extra dark to make it really looking old and battered via airbrushing to make it look great
Great build series! I'll definitely be adapting some of your techniques for by build. Do you have detailed notes on your circuit board modifications? They'd be very helpful.
Unfortunately I do not have board notes. I don't honestly even know how to diagram a board. I just kinda winged it with my minimal knowledge. Sorry. All of my LEDs already had built in resistors, so the boards were strictly + & - wire connections.
SENSATIONAL !
de agostinis millennium falcon is a pefect copy of the fine molds falcon
It's actually a laser scanned copy the the real ILM model used for filming. The fine molds is less than half the size and not as detailed. Though a good kit
HI
REALLY REALLY AWESOME , GOOD JOB .
THANKS .
KURURU .
VERY GOOD !.
I swear I saw the light for the bunk somewhere before...but now I can't find it ANYWHERE! lol
Holy hell! I feel like throwing mine in the garbage now lol
Sweet
Great job !!! Where do you connect the additional lighting that don't come with the kit ( corridors, hold, cockpit, landing lights )?. Are they powered connected to the main board or is it an independent circuit ?
I made 2 separate bread boards that all of my additional lighting attaches too. 1 gets it's power from the board with the kit, the other gets it's power from the some power plug, but I split it off, because the kit board couldn't handle it all.
Have you got a video on how you added additional bread board and wiring
do you have a suggestion on how to do a switch that I can plug in to an outlet
Hi there, can you please tell me where I can buy the same fiber optic that I can see in this video? Also I would like to ask some infos about the illuminator? Any custom built? Thanks in advance
Alex Mele You can find them on EBay & Amazon. Key word (Fiber optic.)
HI
REALLY AWESOME .
THANKS .
KURURU .
Cool
HI im from Argentina nice vid. mate, what kind of glue do you use ? super glue?Cyanoacrylate? i dont want to stain white when the glue dries. Sorry for my english and best wishes !
I use Loctite super glue.
What is that blue box that's near the hold at around 7:39 in the video. Does that have something to do with you splitting the power between your mods and the included board?
Hi. You’ve done a great job. I was wondering where you would find the black foil and how did you attach it? I’ve scrolled through the comments and haven’t found the answer.
Amazon. Just type in matte black cinefoil. I attached with super glue
Christopher Olson thanks! Keep up the great work on both the models and the vids.
Amazing!! I Work in the mine!! Please can make you some questions about ligths? The board Support the aditional current from all leds of your main hold? Can you Share a diagram for that?? Thanks!!!!!
sorry, I didn't do a diagram. I'm just doing it on the fly. I honestly have no idea how much current my Leads draw. I'm using a 2 amp 9 volt supply. I figured that should be adequate
thanks for the tip; great work friend.
hi, from italy what kind of glue to use to stop the optical fibers, thanks
I use regular Elmer Glue to hold them in place
Love your videos, incredible work. May I ask, the fibre lights, does the kit come with these ? I’m looking to buy this kit. Many thanks 👍
No, the kit does not come with fiber. The only lighting in the kit are the headlights, engines, bottom flood lights and the back wall of the cockpit. But I modified all of that as well.
Christopher Olson thank you for the info Chris, do you have a list of where you can buy these mods as I’d love to have a go ! Also all the individual lights in the tunnel, are the fittings from the kit and then you added the optics ? I’m sure your very busy so there’s no rush for info. Many thanks 👍
@@duncan.g.burton i don't have a list exactly. As for LEDs and fibers, pretty much fit them all on Ebay. I just searched for best prices and qty. Photo etch from paragrafix.biz. some of the 3d printed parts on Shapeways.com from a seller named 308Bits. And I built custom stuff from styrene
Christopher Olson Thank you and once again incredible detailed model 👍
Amazing Job ! what the size of the fiber optics that you used for the landing lights ?
1.5mm
@@modelsbychris Thanks Chris
Hi, Would you be so kind as to tell me what the name of the connecters you used for the electronics.. I got some 2 pin, 2.0 ph connectors, but they are too small..
From Ebay. JST XH 2.5mm 2-pin connector.
www.ebay.com/itm/JST-XH-2-5mm-2-Pin-Connector-Plug-with-Wire-150mm-X-10-sets-TW/151802735127?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649
Amazing!!! Do you think you could send the circuits to make the corridor??? Thanks in advance for your reply!!!!
It was just a bread board that I soldered the wires too. There's really nothing I could make. I just soldered on the fly.
Thanks for your response. Is there any special circuit for the cabin´s lights? If so, please, do you think you could share with us?
There was really nothing except the LEDs and fiber optic. It was all wired to the kit board. I only used bread boards to solder to, rather than just soldering all my wires together. It was just to make it cleaner basically.
Im building this one to..... but man.,.. my skill isent anywhere near yours, so i kinda use your videos to get inspiration for my model:0)
im not making a copy i just like your idears and tricks:
That's my goal. To either inspire or give ideas.
I always want to get this model of the millennium falconwith lights light up and or the real thing of millennium falcon with Chewbacca
How much of the lighting and circuit boards do you get with the model
Only a circuit board that does the engine light, the ramp, the 4 white landing lights and a light for the back wall of the cockpit.
are all the light mods or do they come with the kit
The only lights with the kit are the engines, back cockpit wall light, 2 headlights, and the 4 underside flood lights. Everything else i added. I even modified their lighting.
if the 'chess' board isn't fully functional, w/the holographic beasts IN COMBAT...well, what's the point ?? :p AWESOME JOB..GREAT VID
God !!!! Oh my god tham
lol this one is better than the org for the film...
is the fibers extra or do they come with the kit
Additional. The kit only comes with an LED strip to light the engines, an LED to backlight the cockpit wall, underside flood LEDs, headlight LEDs, and ramp LED. Everything else I added. I even modified the kit LEDs as well.
@@modelsbychris can you recommend fiber optics
@@paulviana838 for colored fibers, Me80 on Ebay is good. But for regular fibers, I also get them on Ebay, but from whoever has what I need at the time. Nobody in particular
@@modelsbychris thanks for the info
But with the blast shield down, I can’t even see!
Do you know where I can buy a new main board? I have broken the original one! :-(
The only thing you can do is contact Model Space. Their phone customer service is very good. I called several times to get early shipments and stuff and they were great and accommodating.
Ok... I'll do it! Many thanks
1- do you sell your model ?
2- how much ?
Who the hell has 1200 hundred bucks for this damm kit.
That's why it's over 2 years, otherwise I never could've
I just want to know how many "son of a bitch" moments you had throughout this build?
LOL. Plenty, believe me. But all worth it
Christopher Olson I bet, she's gorgeous. Beautiful work.
Sucks
great job
