@ashocck8065 well let's see, Pat Benatar had three top 10 hits and no number ones. Heart had 9 top 10 hits and two number ones. I'd say you're sadly mistaken.

@@magneto7930 Indeed. I simply disagree, at least partially. Greatest means best. Ann Wilson is not, certainly by my standards. Good - yes. Great - no. Perhaps, instead of saying hits, I should have said good songs.
Absolutely one of my favs...I've been requesting it for at least a year now...not big on the radio airwaves, but her voice is absolutely amazing...as always
Amber & Jay, here are some other good Pat Benatar songs to react to: "Promises In The Dark", "I Need A Lover", "No You Don't", "In The Heat Of The Night", and "If You Think You Know How to Love Me".
her voice has so many richness in her voice you know her when hear her voice have been a big fan of hers a long time of pat bentatar what a lady battlefield will always be one my favorites.
Dig this, 5-octave vocal range!!! Her mother encouraged her vocal talents! God bless Pat's Momma, and of course, thanks Pat Benatar for blessing us with your voice. 🙏🏻
The title of the song Jay was thinking of is "Shadows of the Night," which was actually on the same album as this song. Another underrated deep cut from that album is "Looking for a Stranger"
When I stop and really take in the fact that I was fortunate enough to have had the likes of Ms. Pat Benetar and sooo many other great artists who were at their zenith during the 80s, looking at you Prince, Def Lepard, Duran Duran, The Boss, AC/DC, and on and on, as the genesis of my life's coming of age soundtrack, I am simply in awe!!
I got to see Pat Benatar in 1983 here in Dallas at Reunion Arena and it was my first Concert and it was Fantastic and I remember her performance of this song and it was just as great if not better. She is one of the few artist who sound better Live than on recording.😎 Thanks so much for this great memory. 🤠
"Volcano Rupture" by Slave (1977). This is a great example of hardcore hard-rock electric guitar playing. The group slave were not only masters in funk and R&B music, but also Rock & Roll. Y'all will truly, truly enjoy the musicality of this song, trust me.
Great suggestion. I,m a Rocker at heart. 70s and 80s Rock is the best. But i love the Heavy Funk of Slave. With Great guitar solos. They were something special.
I have absolutely loved Pat since the early 80's. Her and Stevie Nicks are my absolute favorite female rockers! I've seen her in concert 3 times! I'd have to say that when I think of queen of leather, Jay, Joan Jett is the first that comes to my mind immediately.
I saw her in '83. They were so much fun live! As I recall, Red Ryder opened for her. Great times, great show and I get to relive it through your great reactions! Thank y'all!🤗❤️✌️
You should try some of Linda Ronstadt’s 1980s New Wave hits similar to Pat Benatar. 1) “How Do I Make You” 2) “Get Closer” 3) “Hurt So Bad” 4) “I Knew You When”
Promises in the Dark is the song Pat and Neil always say was their first song they wrote together. The song is her best IMO. You guys definitely need to react to that one!
Guys, "Valley of the Queens" from the Ayreon Universe concert (so it's live). It's only about 3 minutes long but the voices are incredible! Floor Jansen, Anneke von Giersbergen and Marcela Bovio own this song.
Check out Lee Aaron sometime! Canadian female rocker who was known as the "Metal Queen" back in the day. She had a lot of hits such as "Hands On", "Powerline", "Deceiver", "Tough Girls Don't Cry", and "Whatcha Do To My Body".
Great choices today! You may want to check out "Charity Ball" by Fanny from the early 70s. They were one of the first all female rock bands and they broke down a lot of barriers. No Fanny = no Go-Gos, no Bangles, no Runways. They're really important but few people know them these days.
Thought you'd like to know, Pat's Hubby Neil ( Guitar) and Drummer ( Myron Gorenbacher) still play with her today--They did a show near my town 2 years back ( Canyonville, Oregon) and it sounded great!!
Pat Benatar is awesome! I suggest "Maxine" by Sharon O' Neill and Gunship--Monster In Paradise. For Pat, I suggest "Precious Time" and "I Need A Lover." Jordan, "We're running with the Shadows of the Night, so come on take my hand it'll be alright, surrender all your dreams to me tonight".... that's the airplane one.
I love that you guys love Pat Benatar so much. I could tell you absolutely anything about her PLEASE listen to her blues album and pick a song from there - absolutely incredible!
Speaking of her different modes, she did a blues album once called True Love. As for the leather, Tina Turner could rock some leather during that time.
For a very different version of Pat, try "Bloodshot Eyes," a cover song that was her 1991 blues/jazz album. Despite not being the standard PB song, she still nails it.
You need to do the "Ooh Ooh Song" by Pat next. It doesn't get much reaction love. It's catchy and will stick in your head all day. Plus Neil (Her husband/guitarist) plays a harmonica solo. And Myron brings the driving beat.
Top rock ladies of the 80's (or any decade really) off the top of my head: Ann and Nancy Wilson, Pat Benatar, Tina Turner, Stevie Nicks, Debbie Harry from Blondie, Joan Jett.
Pat Benatar duets with Martina McBride from the Country Music TV series Crossroads from the early 2000’s. Pat and Martina on stage singing their hits with Neil on guitar. Heartbreaker, Independence Day or We Belong for examplr
If you haven’t seen it already, you should definitely check out the CMT episode with Pat Benetar and Martina McBride. They sing Martina’s Independence Day and Benetar stuns the crowd...and Martina. A real treat to watch.
You must react to Pat and her band singing live "Promises In The Dark". Pat & her guitarist hubby Neil and drummer Myron Grombacher go nuts in a small intimate setting. Wow, its starts off really slow and then Bang!
You still have to get to The Queen of Soul for Female Friday! Aretha Franklin’s “Daydreaming”, “Until You Come Back To Me”, or “Rock Steady” will do just fine😁😉
Lita Ford was rocking just as hard as the hair metal bands were rocking!!!! I really wish you would look into her!! Larger Than Life Lisa ( a ballet for her mother) Can’t Catch Me Hungry Fatal Passion Dressed To Kill And many more!!!
"Promises In The Dark" , "Sex As A Weapon" and "Anxiety (Get Nervous)" are great Pat Benatar rockers! You were asking about rockin' women, how about Chrissie Hynde 's band The Pretenders and the rockin songs "Middle Of The Road" and "Mystery Achievement." Thanks. 😎
Awesome pic. One of favorites from Pat Benatar ❤️ I would recommend for your next reaction would be the "OOH OOH SONG" PAT'S VOUCE IS SO BEAUTIFUL WITH THE OOH OOHS. KILLA DRUMS AND HARMONICA TOO ❤❤
Promises in the Dark is her best song and best performance! And speaking of 80s ladies, you have yet to react to Missing Persons! Either Words or Mental Hopscotch would be a great place to start.
Another strong female voice you should check out is by a Spanish group Mocedades and the song is "Eres Tu" recorded in 1973 a one hit wonder but what a GREAT song and what a voice!!! It is easy to find the video on UA-cam!!!! I don't understand a word of it but it sure sounds wonderful!!!!!!!!!
I bought In The Heat Of The Night when it came out and I heard I Need A Lover and Heartbreaker on the radio. You liked Heartbreaker. Hope you get to the other 9 songs on the album. Pat has rocked from the start.

The airplane video was for " Shadows of the Night". The guy with the cigarette is her husband, Neil Geraldo.
