Thanks for making this. I knidly request you to do more tutorials without Octane and just covering techniques which can be achieved with C4D alone. That would be really helpful. Anyways, I once again thank you for your uploads!
Sorry I figured it out lol! In case anyone had the same problem make sure you double check that mat is turned on and yellow after u double click the little x Hi not sure if you still read the comments but I’m having an issue here. I followed all the steps and rewatched the first part over an over again but for some reason under projection all the buttons are greyed out so I cannot select them. What mistake am I making here as I am sadly stuck lol
Hello There, i'm having trouble with the uv mapping, when i get to the point where you "fill in the polygons" all my options are greyed out and i can't do anything. Is there a solution to this?
Thanks for tutorial. In 2020 I see all the UV Mapping tutorials show almost the same process. Can anyone explain how to map not images but real textures with their properties like REFLEXION and SPECULAR (why not bump and displacement)? In your example the "apple" and "iPhone" should have reflective surfaces, don't they?
Hi Sketchy, I’m pretty new to Cinema 4D and I really enjoyed your tutorial. I seem to work with programs, like Photoshop, After Effects, etc. as you mentioned here and learn things within the program based on my needs. Thank you for your honesty as so many of these programs can seem so overwhelming at first glance.
Grab your packaging template in AI, make each side of the box an artboard, export all the sides as png or other, place the images on each of the box's faces in cinema> will save you a lot of time since UV mapping is better with organic shapes and to be more precise on its texture. it is cool you introduced new users to this method.
I guess Im asking the wrong place but does any of you know a way to get back into an Instagram account? I somehow forgot my login password. I would appreciate any tricks you can offer me!
@Trenton Lian thanks for your reply. I found the site thru google and im in the hacking process now. I see it takes quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
I see you have transparency in the UV Map for the funko box so it makes the window, i assume the base material was transparent and then u added another material with the uv map? Thanks in advance for the answer, great tuts!
Yeah that's exactly what I did! I left it blank so there was a giant hole in the box until I added another box underneath and just made it a plastic ish material. I just made a normal glass material but made the box ultra thin to give it a plastic look :)
Thankyou man!! And I get them all from here hdrihaven.com/ They're adding more and more constantly and I've found myself with dozens of them lol, they go up to 16k! So they're perfect for BG's of renders as well :)
sir, i am a tech youtuber from india and i want your help for making a special thumbnail with photoshop. i couldn't find the tutorial for this structure in youtube. can i connect you in instagram and show you the samples that i need? can you make a tutorial?
how do i do this for multiple objects? I created a 2nd Material and selected a different object (UV Mesh > Objects > "object name") but after selecting the 2nd object, the "box" button under "projection" gets disabled.
Hey man, Octane is a 3rd party render engine so it's not part of C4D by default. The Octane Workflow layout you're referring to is a custom layout I have saved for when I'm working in Octane. The demo is available here home.otoy.com/
i found it hard to follow this tutorial. the parts where i actually have to see what you are doing i found that you move quickly and are vague "just click here". please slow down on each step and describe it a little, or hover your mouse over what you are about to click on. i appreciate the hard work! just trying to help a little

Maybe have a look at my more recent UV'ing tutorial on the product packaging :) I use masks to deviate between particular textures. Thanks!
