It makes me happy to see young people discovering Monty Python 🤗
Mate go back and watch the whole film trust me so worth it and life of Brian after that and meaning of life as no one does that one
Great advice. It will enrich your live for sure.
Yes!
Yo, do a Movie reaction of the life of Brian you can cut it shorter, it would be great
@@gannon5409 yeah that is the most acclaimed movie. Timeless. Biggus Dickus... 😜
The nights that say Nnneeeeeee.
Don’t forget the shrubbery
Decades later and it’s STILL funny as hell!!!
Timeless comedy!
It never gets old.
@@williammelaniegappmayer2655like the flesh wound😂
No, it’s too perilous
An interesting side note, the reason they aren't riding horses? They couldn't afford them in the budget. So they came up with the coconut sound effects.
Honestly that works better for the films comedic factor
Not just budget, they also have no time to train in riding horse
😂😂😂😂
That because they keep sacking everyone 😂😅😂😅😂
Best thing to happen, really.
Please watch the whole film at some point, it’s hysterical. King Arthur riding an imaginary horse with Patsy behind banging the coconut shells together is too good to miss and as for the French soldier, you have to see that. Fetchez la Vache 🐮!!
...and if you come back! We will taunt you again, you silly Englishmen. 🤣😂
everyone should walk around with coconuts at least once.
You would have to watch out for swallows@@mikeohagan2206
Monty Python is a classic all their episodes as well Great British Humor of all time!
The greatest double take in the history of cinema.
You are watching one of the greatest movies ever made. Monty Python's quest for the holy Grail.
"Monty Python and the Holy Grail."
Agree ..my favorite movie and I'm 70.
I first saw this with my friends back in high school. "Tis but a scratch" and "It's just a flesh wound" were our go-to phrases whenever someone got hurt. Such a funny movie, glad you get their humor.
Well, he is a Brit....😉
7th grade history teacher had us watch this in class while we studied medieval times. Later in that year, we actually WENT to a show called medieval times. Among the best history teachers ever.
I was in high school when Holy Grail was released in the US. Back then you could pay once to enter the theater and sit through as many showings as you liked. It became a fad to watch Holy Grail as many times as you could. The reason this started was American audiences would laugh loudly at the jokes, before the punchlines and you missed hearing the punchlines of the British humor. Watching numerous times was originally an effort to hear the ends of the jokes. Old episodes of the TV program "Monty Python's Flying Circus" were shown on PBS before Holy Grail was released in the US, to get Americans used to the British humor.
Monty Python is the gift that keeps giving.
The entire film is just as unhinged.
It's simply brilliant.
British humour at its best.
Dude, you really need to watch the entire movie. The opening credits alone were worth the price of admission.
I'm 62, and to this day whether it's stiches or a sprain, I'll say to the Dr. 'It's just a flesh wound!!' 'Had enough, eh' is another one that comes out of my mouth for no reason. Once a Python quote get's into your brain...it never leaves!
"Bring outch yer dead..."
"This is proof that violence is inherent in the system...HELP...HELP...I'm being oppressed!!!"
"How do you know....that's she's a witch? Aren't witches made of wood?"
"Whaaaaaat is your name? Whaaat is your quest? Whaaaat is your favorite color?"
"He's buggering off and chickening out...brave, brave, brave, brave Sir Robin..."
"You don't frighten us, you English pig dogs...I fart in your general direction...Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries."
"That rabbit is dynamite!!!"
"Four shall thou not count, neither shall thou count two, excepting that thou shall then proceed to three. Five...is right out..."
"You can call me....Tim."
Quotes I can’t get out of my brain
He’s not a monster? Well he made me soil my armor, the rabbit scene.
And don’t forget, bring out the holy hand grenade just writing this makes me laugh again.
He’s not the messiah….
He's just a very naughty boy often comes to mind.
Too true! I was in labour, and all I could think of was Monty Python’s Meaning of Life. I asked if they had the machine that goes Ping!
“‘Tis but a flesh wound.” Immortal words.
This scene is from the 1975 film Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
The clip you watched starts halfway through the scene, so you missed the part where the black knight's fighting skills impress King Arthur (which is why he says "you have proved yourself worthy").
I saw this when it opened at the movie theatre, the next night I dragged my parents there to see it. I still remember tears streaming down my. Moms face she was laughing so hard
Monty Python. Wicked English humour. Monty Python were a group of amazing English comedians/actors who pretty much ran amok and took the mickey out of everything.
I’m 63 and I grew up on Python. I saw this by chance when I was in high school on late night tv. This was back when we had four channels and the tv was a piece of furniture. I was instantly hooked. I remember buying a book with the script and Terry Gilliam’s incredible drawings. 🤣
Magnavox console wood grain was like a status symbol wasn't it, channel tube testers at Kmart, TV went off around after midnight only after the Lord's prayer was sung, then the static and test pattern used to fall asleep during broadcast and wake up to static and test pattern 🤔🤣🤣🤣✌️🍺🍻
@@Nonconformistwilderbeastman wow. I forgot the static and test pattern but i remember it being preceded by the national anthem with the flag waving in the background.
Hah! Your absolute glee in seeing a skit that had us roaring with laughter all those years ago had me in stitches all over again. Great reaction......
🤣🤣🥳
Wayching your reaction is like watching the movie for the first time again.
Now you see why this movie is a cult classic and absolutely loved by SO many people! :D The whole movie has gags galore like this one throughout :)
This is one of the first comedy films I ever watched. I think I was about 16 years old. It was absolutely hilarious. I had forgotten about this scene, but my most vivid one is hearing the horses coming up over the hill and it being the sound of the coconuts. I love Mighty Python. Great humor.😂
Always look on the bright side of life. 😂🤣😂
When both arms are off, the German synchronization is gold:
"Try scratching yourself!"
Monty Python was a TV show but this was from a film. They were both slapstick and highbrow at the same
time.🏴
They (as a group) were called "Monty Python", the TV show was called "Monty Pythons Flying Circus". This film was called "Monty Python and the Holy Grail".
Monty Python is a comedy troupe. They had a TV show (Monty Python's Flying Circus), films, comedy albums, live shows, etc.
The Quest of Sir Robin is almost as good. “Brave Sir Robin ran away. He bravely ran away, away. When danger reared its ugly head, he bravely turned his tail and fled. Brave, brave, brave, Sir Robin”! (“I didn’t!!)”
No I didn’t 🤪🤪🤪🤪great scene
My daughter and i still do the What is your favorite color. Blue, no wait green
Well, that's easy ...
@TheRealYTIAN we are always taking clips from movies that makes us laugh. The Ghost and Mr Chicken, Shears in the throat, or the Bon Ami part or you're killing me Smalls
He proves himself a few minutes before this part, just for context, and no spoilers.
Yeah, definitely gotta' watch the Black Knight fight the prior guy, before King Arthur comes along... **No spoilers**
Monty Python was revolutionary in its day. The key word was "Silly"...in Python everything was always "Silly". When I was at school in around 1970 when this wonderful show started we were picking up on the key words. Imagine then being in official school assembly. Our headmaster was on stage and had just read the riot act to us all about our behaviour. (An all boys school). He then said "This is all very SILLY!" The entire school collapsed in to paroxysms of out-loud laughter. It became a very long day......mass detention for all.
Well now it's just got silly!
Now no one enjoys a good laugh more than I do. Except for my wife, and Captain Johnson, and . . . come to think of it most people enjoy a good laugh more than I do, but that's beside the point!
Mass detention, huh? That’s one step short of the policeman arresting you for being too silly.
Ahh, much like Camelot! “It is a silly place!”
Silly? SILLY?!?!
@@markvoelker6620 NIH!!
The only problem is that you're laughing so hard, you have to go back 5 or 6 times to hear all the jokes. Still breaks me up after over 40 years since I first saw it. Starts right out of the gate with the credits. Awesome film!
My sister was run over by a moose....
Monty Python started out as a sketch show but they also made a couple of movies. This was one of them. Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
"This but a scratch" is the famous line from this, but I love when he says "I'll do you for that"😂
"Your arm's off!
No it isn't...
Well, what's that then?
It's only a flesh wound!
You lie!
Come on ya' pansy!
What are you gonna' do bleed on me??
I'm INVINCIBLE!!
You're a LOONY!"
One of the best exchanges ever in cinematic history...
if you like silly, discovering Monty Python will be all your Christmases come at once. It really is, very silly
FYI, the black knight 'proved himself worthy' when Arthur watched him completely demolish some dude in single combat just before the point this clip started.
This is a classic movie. It doesn't age
You're watching "Monty Python and the Holy Grail." You've gotta see the whole movie. Don't miss the BBC TV series (Monty Python's Flying Circus), or their other movies like "Brazii" or "Life of Brian."
Monty Python fans are like no others. While waiting at the theater for the new movie (well, new 50-odd years ago), one person started reciting the first line of the Parrot Sketch. Within less than two minutes, the entire audience was reciting the sketch from memory.
I used to watch these as a kid still as funny now 🤣
One of the best comedy troupes there ever was
"Tis but a scratch" will be on my head stone.
its a movie everyone on earth NEEDS to see!
i love that the bridge is about 20 inches long.
My two favorite lines from this movie are King Arthur: "We shall not go to Camelot, it is a silly place." and Arthur asking the wizard "What is your name, oh mighty wizard?" The wizard answers: "They call me, Tim." The Holy Hand Grenade scene, hilarious! lol
That's Monty python for you , silly and that's what makes it a classic , and the black knight proved worthy of joining king Arthur's team cos he had just watched him win a fight
I was on the couch crying watching this when I was young my parents could not understand why I found it so funny
Life of Brian. So many hilarious scenes. The dialogue is incredible.
That and the damn bunny rabbit, just too damn funny.🤣🤣🤣
Welcome to the foundation of my sense of humor.
You are indeed a sick individual of questionable parentage. As am I.
This film has nonstop laughs. Even the credits at the beginning, are full of jokes.
A classic clip from The Holy Grail film. Python started with comedy sketches (Monty Python's Flying Circus), but, later, did some films (Holy Grail, Meaning of Life, and The Life of Brian - maybe another, my memory fail sme!)
"And Now for Something Completely Different" is a movie of the best skits. Jabberwocky had Michael Pallin directed by Terry Gilliam.
Don't forget "Timebandits" and "Brazil" and "12 Monkeys" @@robertsonsid
"And Now For Something Completely Different" is a sentimental favorite for my husband and I because it was one of the rare things that could make Mom genuinely smile and laugh despite her decades' long battle with severe rheumatoid arthritis. The sight of John Cleese stretched out in a bikini juxtaposed to his deadpan delivery always made Mom howl with laughter until she cried 😁😄😂🤣 We're forever grateful to Monty Python for every moment of pure joy and respite from debilitating pain their humor provided Mom. That laughter was better therapy than any conventional medicine available to Mom during her lifetime.
@@abbynormal4740 WIth an account name like that I gotta ask .. "where wolf?" 😁
I'm saving this for later, this will be epic. I hope you take the time to watch the full movie
One of my favorite comedies of all time… I’ve watched it at least 20 times and every time, I find something new and ridiculous…
I first saw Monty Pythons Quest for the Holy Grail in the cinema in a double feature with Blazing Saddles being the other film...my sides ached for two days after, I was laughing so hard! Gods, I'm old...lol
That must've been a good day! ☺️
@@alyzu4755 you are not wrong!😉
You have to watch the Life of Brian ...an absolute masterpiece
England's favorite Monty python movie..in the U.S. it's holy grail.
A couple years ago my kids got me a killer rabbit t-shirt. " runaway, runaway!" Monty Python and the Holy Grail- classic excellence!!
its really one of the greatest movies ever made. every bit of it.
Monty Python and the Holy Grail -- best movie ever!! You either love or hate Monty Python -- I love it!! Classic humor!
This is a film made by the same people who did the British comedy TV series Monty Python's Flying Circus that started out in 1969.
All of the Monty Python shows and movies are top notch.
Welcome to surreal comedy! You're going to have to watch the full movie now! ;)
Do you think he would enjoy the Mr.Creasot restaurant skit from And Now For Something Completely Different ?
@@reallymysterious4520 Yes indeed it's wafer thin! xD
Why did I imagine Arthur talking to an empty suit of Armor.
Monty python is fantastic. They have both movies and tv specials, so plenty to choose from. If you like that style of comedy you may also like 'the gods must be crazy'. Another monty python clip recommendation would be 'the holy hand grenade'
Dude, you GOTTA watch the ENTIRE movie!!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Classic monty python never gets old they made tv and films watch them you won't be disappointed 😂😂😂😂😂
I cried my eyes out and my sides hurts so much from laughing the first time I ever saw this. It's in my top 3 funniest ever movie scenes.
I liked John Cleese's French knight and flying cows just a bit more, but Monty Python is full of these hilarious moments.
Such a great movie... to many eggs to count. Epic comedy
This movie is HILARIOUS. I can still quote SO many funny funny lines.
My favourite scene in this movie is their version of the Trojan horse. That's comedy Gold.
Monty Python and the Quest for the Holy Grail…the funniest movie ever! There are many scenes as funny as that one. It helps if you know a bit of British history and mythology, as they make fun of a lot of it. The french invasion, mystical bridge keepers, monsters in caves, quests, the knights of the round table, etc, etc. The same group did a couple of other movies and a TV comedy skit series. Genius!
a story i heard about the making of xmen...rebecca romaine's stunt double was injured and bleeding profusely after some stunt, while getting patched up she famously reassures the crew shes fine by saying 'tis but a flesh wound'. lol
I’m an Aussie who was brought up on brilliant British humour by my dad, also an Aussie. This film is my absolute favourite of all time and I have seen it hundreds of times! I have passed on the love of British comedy to my son who is now 33 and has a massive collection of old classics and also the excellent Red Dwarf series. There’s something about British humour that is so similar to Australian humour, and we love it!!
What people never notice about this scene is how useless the bridge is, they could easily just walk around it lol.
It's a classic! So many laugh out loud moments.
Saw this at a friends sleepover when I was younger and it is hilarious! British comedy is gold! Got into it when I was young by my mom with Mr.Bean!
Welcome to the weird and wonderful world of Monty Python. ❤
Best reaction EVER, never laughed so hard in a long time just watching you laugh at this hilarity...AWESOME !!!!!
It brings me so much joy to watch people experience the brilliance of Monty Python. Legendary, friends! 😂
" I'll do you for that ". I also like the witches line " It' s fair cop ".
Never understood that until I got the director s cut with the dialog. I got better
Your laughter is adorable and wholly infectious - makes this 100 times better and it was great to start with!!
this is such a classic, I think everyone in the world should watch it at least once in thier life
"What is your name?"
"What is your quest?"
"What is the air speed velocity of an unladen swallow?"
The bridge of death scene one of my favourites, check it out! 😂
….. no blue *weeeeeeee* 🤣
"What am I watching?" One of the best scenes in cinema, thats what XD
Monty Python was a comedy troupe from Britain in the late 70’s early 80’s. They had a TV show and several movies. All are comedy gold.
I remember seeing this when it was released. One of the best and funniest movies ever.
i grew up with this. Tis but a scratch became a common saying with my family...Wait till you watch the parrot one where 'he's not dead he's sleeping' happy to see you are finally experiencing monty python
I grew up on Monty Pythons Flying Circus. I've never been the same since. lol'
Holy Grail has the best lines and great weird opening credits.
Your reaction has me in stitches... thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it 🤣
Monty python and the holy grail.great movie..
How I wish I could start over and watch the whole Monty Python catalogue for the first time again.
Greatest movie ever. Really needed the context of the fight he just witnessed
the killer bunny is terrifying
Your reaction and laughter is pretty much like a bunch of friends watching this movie back in '75 or so. I watched Monty Pythons Flying Circus on PBS so, I was familiar with the group's humor. This and Blaziing Saddles were the funniest and most irreverent movies of their time.
Great to hear the same laughter I heard 50 years ago.
The rabbit scenes epic too.
My dad got me hooked on Monty Python as a kid and still love it to this day😂😂😂😂
Easily one of the funniest things ever by humans
The parrot sketch is PERFECT. Monty Python at their best!
I’ll check it out, thanks 👍🏾
One of the greatest comedies ever made
Now it's time to watch the entire movie!! It's fantastic.
This movie should be watched while in college, at 2:00am, with some “assistance”
This is a clip from the film, "Monty Python and the Holy Grail." I definitely recommend you watch the rest of it! It's one of my favorite comedy films of all time
Monty Python’s Flying Circus was a long-running television show which specialized in nonsensical sketch humor, but it produced comedy treasures like “How Not To Be Seen,” “Ministry of Silly Walks,” “The Spanish Inquisition” and the immortal “Dead Parrot Sketch.”
Monty Python and the Holy Grail is one of their movies, chronicling the tale of King Arthur of Camelot and the Knights of the Round Table in their quest to find the Holy Grail.
“Just a flesh wound” is considered the most iconic line in the whole Black Knight scene. It’s also notable that the scene starts in proper Arthurian dialogue and progressively devolves into street talk.
Monty python is one of the greatest groups ever
