Good to see the battery replacement
Thank you
Parts availability is always a concern on low volume cars. Especially on a hybrid.
lucky it worked after all that!
Nice work
Thanks for sharing this video. It really educates people what they need to know before sinking into EV. As for me, I am buying diesel vehicles next time…graduating from gasoline to diesel 😂
All the emission control really kills the diesel
Did the new battery arrive on a pallet? If so, and if you had a spare pallet, you could just use a forklift to swap batteries on and off the table. Seems like something shops will need as more and more EVs hit the roads
It came on a pallet but we don't have a fork lift just a pallet jack. Didn't even have a fork lift for the Hyundai batteries.
All this because of a stupid light on the dash, just ignore it especially at such a low mileage.
Huge and expensive battery for only 76 km electric only range.
How much did labor and other parts cost (and how much more would it have been at non-warranty higher labor/parts rates)?
Warranty paid 4.1 which is way better than when I was doing the Kona batteries that paid 2.8 I was able to do 3 batteries in one day. Not sure how much out of warranty it would cost but I saw the quote for an ioniq battery on the motor mouth channel and the labour was like 2k which didn't seem alot compared to the battery price but that's like over 10hrs
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
dayum
40,000 needs a new battery😂 crazy
speaking of the prologue, how ya feeling about that gm pos? I'm less than thrilled.
I'm not a fan of gm products but it would be interesting to see what the first year would be like for the prologue in terms of issues. A few guys just went for the training courses yesterday for the prologue.
Did you guys get sent an EV tool box with no tools in it as well? I was working on a Nissan leaf that had an insulation resistance code and needed an insulation resistance multimeter and the tool box was empty and I was like "fxk" cuz I thought it had all the tools in it.
@@theoffroadingmechanic really? they haven't announced training here yet. we did the self studies but no training center yet.
@@theoffroadingmechanic we have the old tool kit from when the accord hybrid came out. It is just a kit for lifting the battery. Then we have gloves. The tool set is deemed "not strictly necessary" so we don't have it. As for an insulation resistance meter I've never seen one at the dealer. That is an expensive tool. I don't believe the dealers were issued anything other than lifting tools. Most of the stuff we just a list of recommended items that the dealer should provide.
Would never touch it. Especially considering that Honda ended their partnership with GM going forward.
you may be the first person to use the table for the reason honda sent it to all the dealers. lol
Lol. That table was collecting dust before I started. I've been using it to drop the engine and trans on the subframe. It was the same tool we had at Hyundai I would do 3 EV batteries a day.
@@theoffroadingmechanic I use it all the time for dropping drivetrains. Just ripped the drivetrain from a buddies wrx sti the other day using it. It is very handy.
$10k for the battery with car under 70k... better be on the warranty 😑
Yea from almost 2 years ago the claim was still open so it's still valid.
@@theoffroadingmechanic Glad that Honda held themselves to it.
