Looked to me like whichever vehicle was the winner was the one that was going to the left of the screen. That direction looked down hill to me? In any real competition the direction of pull should be in both directions to get a more fair result. Great fun but we need a retest
I’m starting to add some power to mine, so I’m curious as to what all you’ve done! Unfortunately, tug of war is a weight thing. We’re going to run them again this summer when the Bronco is heavier. Haha
@@fj_mattValid point. I’ve got a bunch of vids on it, but it’s basically intake, exhaust, Intercooler and E85 Tune. It’s also pretty quick. 0-60 in 4.3 and 1/4 mile in 12.9 via Dragy
I’m starting with an Intercooler and have already done an exhaust. For a tune, I think I’ll do the somewhat wimpy Ford Performance one for warranty reasons. Haha
The FJ is a truck with a lot of strength and power, I think it must have some problem because it has the same engine as the 4runner unless it is the V8 version.
Would like to see this with the contenders starting on fresh tracks for every race. I have a feeling the FJ tore up the track and then you put the Bronco on the tore up section. The 4Runner had an unbroken track to work with and also got an early start every time. Looked like the Bronco was on the brakes whilst the 4Runner already started pulling. LR Fanboy
Curious about the results for the fj now. Was it in 4 low? Because the 4runner wasn’t in low on the first run he said ?? Of course being in four low makes a difference lol that’s where your power is …
Ha ha ha … JT wins!!! Whooo hoooo! Great video. Maybe you need to try 2 against 1? You even got a plug in there for A&W, ha ha. Next time, have them pay for lunch. 😜
You definitely should have switched sides because EVERY VICTORY was pulling to the left. Seems like the field wasn't really very flat. I declare a rematch is in order.
Yup, I better sell it next year before it goes straight to the junk yard.😂. Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure the Toyotas will outlast it, but some sacrifices have to be made for fun vehicles.
@ yeah, the V8 has more torque than the FJ, the Bronco has torque but its turbo charged so it comes on too late. Greater torque beats FJ, NA beats Bronco. No replacement for displacement.
Apparently you are unaware of the power numbers the Bronco V6 has. It’s pretty darn quick for having 37s, and can smoke the FJ or 4runner with ease. However, everyone is entitled to their opinions no matter how incorrect they might be. Haha
@@fj_matt . Quick? Yes. Let’s compare cost of ownership, from new, until 250k miles. Toyota’s 4L will be a lot more durable and will have best ROI, when compared to either its own 3.5 turbo, or their junkyard 4 cyl turbo that they have in the Tacoma, Land Cruiser and most likely in the new T4R, or ford’s 3.5 turbo. Those turbo engines are garbage, quality and longevity wise.
You said the Bronco is gutless, and didn’t mention longevity in your original comment. On that point I fully agree with you. However, not every vehicle I own during my lifetime will be focused on longevity. Cheers
@@fj_matt , Bronco is gutless. It has poor towing numbers for that power. Hence, weak drivetrain/frame. = junk. Some Unibody’s have better towing capacity too. Overall, new Bronco is junk.
Your lack of research or knowledge on the platform is showing. The reason for the low towing capacity is due to suspension design and nothing else. The same drivetrain can be found in F-150s that tow about three times as much. This said, you are still entitled to your opinion if it makes you feel better.
All 3 are beautiful trucks but, the FJ still looks the absolute best..
I love my 20 year old V8 4Runner and that FJ looked super tough. Fun to watch guys!
I’m glad you enjoyed it!
This made me feel good about my 4runner
Excellent video, that Bronco is so ridiculously good-looking but that forerunner showed its Dad strength.
Looked to me like whichever vehicle was the winner was the one that was going to the left of the screen. That direction looked down hill to me? In any real competition the direction of pull should be in both directions to get a more fair result. Great fun but we need a retest
The plan is next summer! The Bronco is getting built up and the 4runner will have less of a weight advantage by then. Haha
Looks like fun! I’d love to give that 4Runner a go with my 400 WHP/482 WTQ Bronco 😁

Good Fun. Would you guys happen to have a link to a walk around of the FJ, would love to make mine look like that.
Found it nevermind. Should probably have visited the page before I asked.
No worries! I plan to make an updated one soon because a lot has changed!
That Fj exhaust is 💥💥💥
It roars pretty good. Haha
Any idea what exhaust setup
Wow,. I enjoy watching this!
That’s great!
GX vs 4runner next 😅
👀👀. I’ll even give that a go with the bronco. Hahaha
Winner takes on the LX?
I’ll take the gx easy
I think all the plastic on the new Bronco didn't help lol. The FJ still looked great getting hauled backwards haha.
Hahaha! It looked and sounded good, it was just going the wrong way.😂😂
Great shot!
Thanks!
Still rather have the fj.
The FJ is a truck with a lot of strength and power, I think it must have some problem because it has the same engine as the 4runner unless it is the V8 version.
The 4runner is the V8, and also has heavy bumpers etc, so it outweighs the FJ by a lot.🤙🏼

We plan to do it again, and add more vehicles. Haha we’ll test a few more theories!

The FJ was in 4lo.🤙🏼
Subbed, all of these rigs yours?!?

Haha I wish they would sponsor us.😂. I want to give the bronco one more try, so that might happen next weekend. Haha

I don’t disagree. Haha
FJ was the worse because it weighs less and the tires were too wide. So it's less weight per inch of contact.
Absolutely, weight wise it was outgunned. Haha
Where's the city bus?! 😅
Hahaha hopefully we’ll see one in a few months.
@@fj_matt guaranteed! I'll make the trip down for some fun 😎🤙
I bet those Toyotas are going to keep running for so many years more , meanwhile the ford bronco in a couple years, is going be in the junkyard
Yup, I better sell it next year before it goes straight to the junk yard.😂. Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure the Toyotas will outlast it, but some sacrifices have to be made for fun vehicles.
Such a fun day!
It was a blast. I can’t wait to do it again.😂
I own some really good 4 wheel drive vehicles but my 4th gen V8 is the most balanced.
Once the rear diff is upgraded and even locked, (like the one in the video), they are pretty hard to beat.
What’s in the 4 runner 😂
He said it was a V8 so the 4.7 and only in the 4th gens.
NA torque wins, not weight.
Then explain the FJ getting dragged.😂
@ the 4Runner is normally aspirated and has more torque.
I meant by the Bronco. The FJ is NA as well.
@ yeah, the V8 has more torque than the FJ, the Bronco has torque but its turbo charged so it comes on too late. Greater torque beats FJ, NA beats Bronco. No replacement for displacement.
Found on road dead. Fix on road daily… which one do you want? Also, next Toyota with a turbo will be gutless, just like that bronco is…
