I bet that many CEO's in America hate this guy now. Major respect for what he did! A CEO who honestly cares about his employees?! Damn, my mind just blew up!
@@MrSilverfish12 well they could have gone anywhere else in the industry and at that time they would at most make 50k nowhere near the minimum he set. Even the higher earning one's got a pay raise because of this. their company profits decreased and he took a drastic pay cut himself to allow this
Let me tell you - if my boss raised my salary to 70k a year, I would run circles around myself trying to make up brand new ways to be productive. Hell, I'd do that for 50k a year. Move my numbers from managing 50 a month to managing 300 a month, clean the toilets, pick up the dry cleaning, walk the neighborhood dogs - just one call and I'm there!
Okay boss gives you your 70k 6 months later: Boss calls, hey uh... I know this was supposed to be your day off but my car broke down and I was supposed to pick up my dry cleaning and I got a shit-ton of meetings all over town... could you possibly give me a hand I'm really stuck here... ...please?
Yeah man, my boss takes care of me (which has included regular raises I haven't even had to ask for and letting me permanently work from home and go down to 30 hr/week when I had my second child), I take care of him.
Sorry to be offtopic but does anybody know of a trick to log back into an instagram account?? I somehow forgot my password. I love any tips you can give me!
@Marcus Hezekiah Thanks for your reply. I got to the site on google and im in the hacking process atm. Takes a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Well, looks like he doesn't love money as much as people and decency and starting something new. He's being more decent than even necessary, but he is making a hell of a point with his actions. He really impresses me.
This is one of those quantum radical shift in action - I love this man and he is a leader with knowledge and experience in humanistic moral responsibility - do it your own way example -
I truly admire this CEO for what he's doing, even if many people out there think he's being naive. Many executives, so-called business experts and economists will hope he fails so that they can say the current economic model should remain status quo, even though it's deeply flawed. Deep down though, when they consult with their conscience, they know he's doing the right thing. The business community never seems to have a problem with experimentation that squeezes more profit while hurting the 'common' man and woman, but when someone tries an experiment to uplift people, then all of a sudden it's a negative uproar. If he's going to fail then let him fail in the act of trying to do something good. The income gap in the business world is obscene and I truly hope that he's so successful that he will force people to re-think their acceptance of this failed economic model. This CEO will be denigrated not because of his actions but because his actions will make people question why other executives can't follow the same philosophy. He's proven that CEOs can do something like this if they really desired to do so. Sometimes it only takes the actions of one person to change the course of history.
In ALL of my many years of working within corporate firms from many industries, I have NEVER seen. Kudos to Me. Dan Price, indeed. Equaling the pay-scale gap not just in word, but deed/action. Well done!
This guy is more deserving to have presidential honor than those celebrities which I don't know the purpose of recognition .... perhaps for publicity stunts...Mr. Dan Price, you're the messiah of Good and Just business leader. Thank you Senator Bernie Sanders.
Well I am not from US but can say that there is definitely a wide financial gap between the rich and poor so I think what this man has done as a CEO and founder of his company that sets an example for the policymakers of the government and private organisations that they should do something to bridge the gap of rich and poor just like what he did this isn't about socialism or capitalism this is about humanism.

yeah, he lost the kind of people he probably din't want to be working with and gained many more that supported his choice to actually have a heart. Seriously? Quit because you can't use your income to prove you're better than everyone else?
You must be extra stupid huh? His profits have more than tripled and he hasn't fired a single worker. His company is exponentially larger than when this announcement was made five years ago

"Just common decency"? How common is it again???

*applause* seriously, that's all i got.... good on you Dan Price!
People like him need to be in government and head of companies and corporations. Then humanity and the earth would flourish. What a great man.
You're Awesome Dan!!!
This aged extremely well. Especially the company nowadays
True Leadership!
This is an example of what the millennials are trying to accomplish. What could be so wrong about this kind of thinking.
Now do you know?

this is great when it happens by choice!! but not when it happens by force of government Bernie.
Is this the guy with several rape and assault allegations?
Was this before or after the sexual assaults took place?
3 months later. He has lost several clients and his best workers who have realized there's no bonus money left for them...

The higher earners in that industry 5 years ago made like 50 60 k and by setting the minimum at 70 he gave his higher earners a 20K bonus
So what? They are just mad because they can't run their income in other people's faces. Which is what people like you want to do.
I stopped watching when the lady in red came on the video.
LMAO! FAIL!
LMAO! He's still in business.
He doesn't seem like failure to me
His company today is now on the verge of bankruptcy. In fact he cant even live in his own house, he has to rent it out, in order to pay for it.
He's still in business without making layoffs.
His profits have more than tripled and he hasn't laid off a single worker
Actually no it's not. You just want to believe it's on their verge of bankruptcy because you want workers to earn shit wages.
Yeah, he's living the life of someone in Seattle earning $70k. That is no reflection on how his business is doing, that is the pay he set for himself.
None of the people in the comments here, excluding Hennessy has ever taken economics. Get a brain. Dan and his company folded.
You must be extra stupid huh? His profits have more than tripled and he hasn't fired a single worker. His company is exponentially larger than when this announcement was made five years ago
We obviously understand economics better than you do. His companies profits have doubled.
