It's fine as long as you don't have issues with it catching on fire sitting in your garage while you sleep and burning your house down. If it isn't burning, its being recalled for some kind of issue. Good luck!
Have a 2021 Rubicon 4xe. Most my trips are less than 25 miles. Which is about what my battery gives me. I plug my in every day, and I get 800 miles to the tank before the computer makes me burn the gas before it goes stale. During the two recalls which don't allow charging I'm getting about 22 mpg.
800 miles per tank seems pretty good (by my math like ~45mpg). How does the power feel driving purely in just EV mode? 134hp/181lbft doesnt seem like a lot for a 5000lb vehicle but if it's decent enough at sub 35-45mph speeds that would be okay by me.
@ALMX5DP it's a little slow but certainly good enough for city stoplight driving. Once you get it in hybrid mode with the slap stick manual mode this thing is pretty quick. Very fun for something so silly.
We loved our 2022 wrangler 4xe, Death wobble at 2300 miles, was in shop for only 13 days. Charging port stopped working at 6100 miles , was in shop for 4 days. No rental for the days in shop. As a grown adult we made a good choice and traded it in for 2023 Grand Cherokee 4xe, lol. 19000 miles so far and only issue we having is the transmission, while slowing down the downshifts feels like we in a 18 wheeler, the sudden jerks, got it checked couple of time but jeep says it's normal.
Was ready to buy a ‘24 Gladiator not a Wrangler (though same issue applies.) But Jeep and presumably all of Stellantis collects and sells all of your driving data to insurance companies … and there is now way to opt out or otherwise stop it without essentially bricking most of the connectivity of the vehicle, including many/all other “legitimate” features. Of course other car companies do this nefarious selling of driving data, but Jeep (and Subaru is another I’m aware of in my shopping/research) gives you no means to simply opt out. Ford and Toyota also do this (collect/sell) but both give you a one touch option in the infotainment screen or app to opt out.
No, I can’t wait to turn in my lease. Love it if it was reliable and not a potential fire on wheels that you can’t plug in so no benefit than just being a heavier jeep with even worse gas mileage. I can see my gas mileage go down in real time while driving. Oh and I have to park away and not in my garage.
This thing is awesome if you're shorter than 6ft. I have one at 6ft 4in and it's just too small of a drivers space. I got it as a great lease deal but can't wait to switch back to a RAM 1500
The head room really is an issue. I got a seat rail extender for mine and it cuts about 1in of headroom. But it give you another 5 or 6 in of legroom so I just slouch a little bit to get a good driving position. But forget about rear seat room.
Wonder what the car folks think is going to happen with Stellantis. Seem to be making a few wrong moves lately, and it’s showing in sales and quality. This isn’t a bash, this is a genuine question: do they have long term options here in NA?
If only Jeep and their dealers weren't so stupid! So Jeep reduced reliability and quality and upped their prices to compete in the luxury market. Even though their bread and butter is the "working man" that really can't afford $70k Jeeps. Add to that the fire issue, poor mpg for a hybrid, death wobble and on and on. So, Jeep finally decided to offer $ 7,500 cash back to entice sales (still not working). My local Jeep dealer has 150 - ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY Wrangler 4XE's alone! None less than $45k and on most the DEALER ADDED BACK ON A $7,500 dealer fee to offset the Jeep discount! So very many are still $65 - 75K. They might want to eventually sell them before they turn to lot rust buckets! Jeep might as well just fold up shop now!
A 3row would be the ultimate family toy. They already have a platform in the gladiator. Just make it enclosed and add a row. Make it accessible from the rear swing gate and you have a billion dollar vehicle
Cafe has been ruining the american automotive industry. If people wanted these so badly then the market would of evolved on their own. All the automakers are simply chasing government regulations with models like this. Dodge is living proof america didnt want cafe standards they wanted V8s in everything, as dodge was paying so many penalties per car and had to price accodingly, and people were happy to pay said penalties to get what they wanted. Hellcats and supercharged v8s were American icons for almost a decade, getting absolutely deplorable fuel economy, but guess what, its what people wanted. People buy 4xe because its the only way to get v8 power in a wrangler for less than 100,000 dollars. If only it didnt burn your house down to do it.
Alex, Your timing was perfect. I was able to keep one eye on the video and the other on the trick or treaters. 🎃

Yup, good thing gas powered cars never catch fire.
@@chublez the crazy thing for PHEV is it will catch on fire as an EV, also as an ICE car😂
Please make the video about CAFE!!

My 23 Sahara is getting right at 24.5 mpg. Before the recall it was averaging 31. Almost all city driving. Also plugged in every day.

What did you expect when you got a Jeep? This is the true Jeep/Chrysler/Stelantis experience you were promised.
And you traded in a jeep for another jeep
Yes please, I'd love to see a presentation from Alex on the CAFE standards and how he thinks they've impacted the US car industry.
I'd watch a video on how CAFE has changed America's Automotive landscape. Very Interested!

There’s no resolution for the fire issue currently? That would be a big bummer.

Hard top wranglers are still very loud. I have a sahara with the 20" wheels and the bridgestones. Still hard to have a normal volume conversation
Why would the factory winch affect the handling? is it that much more weight on the front end?

Jeep should hire retired Japanese car engineers to learn how to design and make reliable cars.
Think well ever get a Commander/Wagoneer size Wrangler? Youd think a 3 row would sell.

Did they include a auto hold button?
No
Winch and handling?
Extra weight on fromt axel
How do you pronounce 4xe? I heard four-by-ee, for-bye, four-ex-ee, fauxy, foxy.
Recalls
And so has Toyota along with just about every other car manufacturer so your point is what.
Yupp 2 so far. Sucks ass not being able to plug it in.
No because it might catch fire if you use the plug in battery.
You know that ICE cars catch on fire 30x more than EV's right?
@@marcsilverman2457they’re referring to the active recall on the 4xE for fire danger.

A power soft top…hmmm
I own a Jeep Jk. I love it. But, it is NOT reliable. I have a hard time trusting Jeep with more electronics.
Abolish the EPA problem solved. We'll see soon next year.
You’re buying it for the performance
Who cares about fuel economy
People buy for a combination of reasons, it’s not so black and white…
I too bought it for the electric drive commute to and from work. But it drives great for me. I have e a Sahara with on road tires.
