The Diablo 2 Sorceress Guided Playthrough begins! If you're looking for help in building a Sorceress through hell, these are the videos for you. In Part 1 we run through Normal difficulty of Diablo and get to level 25+ so we can move onto Nightmare without any experience difficulties.

@@scottburns7798 I’m nearing end of Normal (Lvl-33, almost at Baal), and haven’t actually needed to even do the Respec he notes in this guide - cause NOVA has been ridiculously strong ! I got Lightning Mastery recently and the damage is something crazy like 200-450 appx 😅. I’m gonna eventually go Blizzard as he shows, but it’s just crazy how Nova massacres all of Normal Mode now !
Important note: If you're playing Diablo 2 Resurrected you can craft a Spirit sword even on non-ladder. They removed the restriction for the remake.

@@rhealgagnon1460 the runeword in general in a sword. It can also be made out of a broad sword. It used to be a ladder only can make the runeword.
@@rhealgagnon1460 "spirit sword" means "spirit" the runeword and "sword" the item type the runeword can be made in. Spirit sword is not referring to the item type the spirit runeword was made in but a general description of the runeword + item base. For example if I called Breath of the dying "BotD sword" or if being more specific "BotD conquest sword"

@@Samphetamine Pluggy is a thing for old D2, many QoL things added. It will not work with D2R i assume. until then, look up diablo 2 pluggy on google.. or Mr Llama's vid on how to install it.

I played every day for two years straight when Diablo 2 came out. I played by myself, and beat the game. I want to do it again! I love this game so damn much.

Played this game for so many years and just now realized i have never beaten LoD by myself on nightmare or hell. I need to do this before resurrected is released!
Same, only normal but I realized my barb build was a bit fudged for nightmare after I tried respec. Time to play this week, and start a new character 😅
I really like how your not eliteist about things. For being someone playing a 20 year old game its so common to see people that say things like "You should be out of normal by level 30" or things like that. Your so welcoming.

No he's just slightly elitist in other ways, saying things like "Don't get skeleton mastery its useless" and "Warmth is not good" 1 point for just under 4 chipped skulls worth of mana regen is pretty good, especially when you account for the fact that that percentage is based on your max mana, so more mana = faster regen. I think he has a problem with math, at least when running these "play alongs" as the point with skeleton mastery is, yeah it gives 2 points of damage, but raise skeleton raises 7% damage, and their damage starts out low as hell. Adding to skeleton mastery (I usually get skeleton mastery to 10 once I have 3-5 skels without weapon/offhand buffs, then max raise skeleton then skeleton mastery) makes that 7% extra add more oomph earlier, as well as giving the skeletons a bit of health as any percent of a bigger number is a bigger jump. I have no idea how this build is supposed to work without at least 1 point in warmth as even with that I'm constantly out of mana unless I skip large amounts of mobs. I usually run a frozen orb / chain lightning build and never have that problem, since you can usually cast once or twice and clear an entire room of just about anything, all the way through most of nightmare. I only clicked on this guide to see how he gets through hell with sorc solo, since everything is immune to at least 1 type of damage, and without a necro or paladin there's no way around that. I'm trying to follow this build but I'm 17 pre andy (I ran trist until I was 15) and I've already got 20%fcr and I'm still having some issues getting things to mesh right. I guess I need to socket more Tir runes into armor/shield to account for the ridiculous cost of nova earlier on.
@@sirgouki6207 Not sure if that's elitist, I think he's run the game so many times that he's kind of found the "way that's optimal for him" and have a hard time / no interest in breaking out of that mindset.

Llama, I know these videos are a few years old but I've really been enjoying them. Very informative. When I was a kid, I only played games on consoles. I use to look at the box for this game and wish I could play it. 20 years later I realize that I've had a gaming computer for like 5 years now. I literally forgot all about this game until recently. Did you know you can actually tell which is the True Tomb of Tal Rasha without looking at the Quest. When you find the Summoner and kill him, the True Tomb will be the one NOT present in the floating Tomb symbols. Works every time.
Is there a way other than this to know which is which??

There were never a low amount of help guides, builds or tutorials. The biggest difference is video casting and mentoring during the game. Some people did that back in the day but it was behind a paywall.
Pretty much every game at this time has rich content to some degree from creators. Which is good. Basically the same stuff being done here is the same across all of Blizzard games :)
I love watching a pro these days on StarCraft and adjusting how I play. Starcraft by far was the best game to have a true video to assist with stepping your game up. Back then a lot of the fundamentals we all skipped because we were just so busy shooting and smacking stuff lol.

stuck in hell, you likely went to hell difficulty to early. I recommend lvl 75 before leaving nightmare and even level 80 if you are doing hardcore. Farm nightmare Mephisto for gear upgrades.

Terrible information givin.... Do hell chaos runs to level up fast. I got 2 chars to lvl 90 in 4 days
This is amazing. I'm buying the game today I haven't played in so long my God. Also never got passed 50 on single player lol. Just got speed rushed everytime in multiplayer and played end game.
That escalated quickly into a speedrun once teleport was available. 😂 Now I need to retry the sorceress.
2 runs in Tower and got 2 FCR rings... One magic and one rare... Got really lucky. It boosted my early game :)
Gotta say that the beta of D2R is pretty nice looking. They at least didn't do the way of D3 and make it cartoony, it actually still has the awesome gothic aesthetic.
Tho the best thing that I have loved that they added, automatic gold pick up. So dang simple yet so useful.

0:24 This was actually the only way I have ever played D2 back in the day. For me a good working build is one that can help you beat the game solo/offline/no follower.

Regarding lvling at around ~1.43.40. You can also go to act 4 and 5 and whenever you get an exp shrine just tp to town and go back to act 3 and farm some exp. That way you can keep going forward and kinda keep lvling at the same time.

Been playing D2 consistently since it came out. Easily put at least 10k hours into this game. But I had no idea this channel existed until Blizzcon. Since then I've been watching a video or two a day and even with what I thought was a pretty encyclopedic knowledge of the game I'm finding that each video has a nugget or three of information I didn't know or something I kind of intuited but didn't consciously know. This videos golden piece of information is the left hand rotation rule for dungeon tile pieces. That one is solid gold.

Thanks for uploading this, it inspired me to run through D2 for the first time since I was a kid. Having a respec system is really nice, lol. I never really understood this game mechanically, so your videos and explanations are helpful. Never realized how similar to POE it really is.
RNGesus praised me for my faithfulness, and rewarded me with a Gull at like level 9 while farming Countess... I'm pretty sure it dropped from a white mob on the way to her, lol. Been a blast having 100% extra MF from Act I!

You should do a ladder guide for early blizzard sorc for farming ancient tunels and get an enigma and run other chars.
Would be fun to watch that kind of series,Road to Enigma.

Man, there is really no substitute to thousands of hours of experience doing something right.
Act I is something I'm very familiar with because I'm a new character-aholic, and I'm pretty confident with its layout after watching your runs for years. I semi-followed along with this, starting right away while you were doing the 4 minute introduction. My Den of Evil had a few too many Shamans, but that's where any hint of bad luck I had ended. I found a +1 charged bolt staff at the start of Cold Plains; I found 4 experience shrines by the time I hit Black Marsh, including one by a waypoint which I saved for Tower; I was running into boss and champion groups left and right...
Yet at the 50 minute mark in the video, you were a solid 2 zones ahead of me with more tower runs under your belt. Largely because of your skill at reading maps and the speed and comfort at which you navigate the UI. My biggest time sinks were fighting a lightning enchanted boss-pack in Dark Woods, running into a short dead-end at the beginning of the underground tunnel, habitually shopping despite being good on gear, and poor stamina pot upkeep. They didn't feel super impactful at the time but it was enough for you to blast ahead.
It's crazy impressive.
These videos are great man I am just getting back into d2 with the release of d2r. When I played Diablo as a teenager I had a stacked account. Now I have two young kids and don't have time to mess around so these are super helpful. All your content is.

Awesome guide, tried this with a new sorc in bnet. Doing normal with a fireball sorc is a breeze and a lot more fun than trying to search for tomb runs or whatever that I tried to do in the past. Leaf and Stealth runewords rock!
I just wanted to comment and say that this was perfect for me! I've been following you and a few other D2 channels for at least a year now and here just a few days ago I finally started playing D2 basically for the first time. I'm playing single player on PlugY and I've got a Sorc up to level 25 with Leaf and Stealth and a decent amount of FCR thus far. I'm just about to kill Mephisto on normal and I am really enjoying learning the game mechanics and getting acquainted with everything. I watched the full stream and learned quite a few things that I didn't know which is really helping speed up my understanding of the game mechanics. Looking forward to the next parts. You've really saved me from wasting a lot of time and mistakes that I would have otherwise made by not knowing all the things I am learning about D2. Cheers m8!

Notes for myself.
Start either charge bolt or go the fire route. Both good. Run countess runs for runes. Save tal eth tir ral for runewords. Tir ral makes leaf fire staff if going fire. Look for gray 2 socket armor and helm as well. Pump vit for a while. Level 9 start putting some into strength. Want to get to 25 str for a belt with 12 sockets. Ral ral in a helm for act 4 and beyond is great for the fire res
I have a confession to make to you sir. In my 16 years of playing Diablo 2, I have only played single player. I have never played online multi player in D2.

wholey crap! well id say you missed the ultimate experience....15 years ago. now a days its all copy and paste tactics after every ladder roll. I remember my first toon, using fire wall in act 2 for the first time and being stoked!. now its all max damage and bla bla bla.
Yeah, the only time I really played multiplayer was with my family (Not on Battle.Net) and my buds (The only time on B'net). Every other time is really just single player.

as you said in the begining of this video i was one of those people that played D2 for years and just played online doing Baal/cow/trist runs non stop im looking to learn the game more so i can do everything myself and expierence it to its fullest and be able to feel like I made my character not I GOT RUSHED on my character there is so much i dont know its like a totaly diffrent game when you try soloing everything its sooooo much more difficult.
i have been wanting to play again and never completed even Normal only on my own. Thanks this is exactly what I was looking for!

Building myself the first gaming PC in over a decade for the Resurrection. This will be very useful, I think. I have run through D2 in Hardcore, but it was far longer than a decade ago and I'm very much looking forward to seeing the run through Nightmare and Hell.
Lmao, his resolution was to go outside more. Covid really screwed up.
For newer people or people who haven't played in years who may have to go at a slower pace...i've been practicing starting from scratch with no gear, & no matter the class, using a 3-socket bow with chipped emeralds yields good damage for the low level with no mana cost, with using socketed helm/armor with + mana or mana/health regen for early game (with shared inventory, other new characters can then use this gear until you have a friend who can power-rush you). charged bolt is the best sorc spell for starting off, for sure, since it is early crowd control. with starting completely from scratch i am going with charged bolt sorc up to farming andy for lower level gear initially before i even start the new act, then using the charged bolt sorc to help rush my brother & nephews through normal. Once you & your friends have at least 1 higher level character, you can just power-rush up to NM and Hell & skip wasting skill points into low-level skills you don't want to waste points in, then you can focus on doing pindle runs in NM/hell to start building up gear for other characters you want to run
i never hardly ever played on multiplayer back in the day, we did LAN parties from time to time. But most of my hours in D2 are solo mode. i did clear hell, but when diablo came out i was 12.
When i cleared hell i was around 17 years old and never stopped playing in between ^^

Hi Mrllama, I'm playing along with the sorc now after completeing the game with the summoner necro. It is a lot more fast paced this time around. I am going with a fire sorc so far because I found a +3 fireball staff with two sockets and made a leaf runeword. I just started act 3 so far and I'm level 20, thanks for the guides, keep up the D2 content, cheers.

Hey llama, I'm an old fart but only recently started D2. Which class do you recommend to learn the game decently? DW Melee Barb? or just Sorc? Ty amazing channel dude!
Honestly any char can be great for the game. For a hell run assassin I think is easiest. Paladin also decently strong. Sorc is quick but fragile and runs into immunity issues. Necro is slow but safer and weak. Any of my guided playthroughs though hopefully talk through all the pieces so do what you enjoy!
I also really want to thank you as I am now interested in a rainbow sorceress. I remember from that stream about aiming for 10 or in firebolt and fireball. I did get close to that and found killing Andariel super easy especially with stealth armor and cannot wait for that leaf staff next level. I am now really loving the sorceress.

Not gonna lie, I love watching these as I’m currently playing D2 resurrected and I’m very nervous for this fight. On my Paladin it took me over 8 deaths and all my gold to take down Duriel. I’m hoping that with my sorceress it’ll be easier with static field
GOD TIER STRAT:Stash all your gold everytime you go to the encampents,can't get a Gold Penalty upon death if you're carrying no gold
