Daaayyyyymmm!! That looked like a blast!! Looks like you may need to pick up a Flipping Stick with some 65lb braid.. Then you can go Frogging in Spring as well.. LOL. Great Video Don!!
Thanks Scott and it was! I'm thinking a crane w some steel cable! Heh, heh, heh...I will definitely be "gearing up" over the winter. Just like all the tackle I have for freshwater...this is a WHOLE new world and we all know how that can go >>>>>>>>>> $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ And yes to the froggin'! Love that topwater bud...thanks for watching buddy!
Have you tried the Manhattan side? Or is Randall Island the better side? Thinking of saving a few bucks by just staying on the manhattan side and trying my luck.
I will definitely try this spot out thanks for this video, just a hop skip and jump. The wife has been asking me to take her here to bike ride so I guess Ill have a real good reason.
Don, Good to see you working the East River. There are plenty of other species in these water around the year. Funny I was out on the East River by Williamsburg Bridge on that exact same day (11/21). I was going for Tautogs with shrimp and instead caught a big striper.
Thanks James! I'll have to see if I can catch some of the others but am excited to hit those stripers this year!!! Hope to see you out there and thanks for watching and commenting!
50 lb fluorocarbon leader would reduce the chance of line breaking but if a big fish brings ur line on a rock there not much you can really do. Good stuff
Anwar Noureldin your right but when you there are bluefish in the east river they are giants like 10-13 pounds. But also think about it could had been a 15 pound stripper.
Bass Man yeah looked like he was pulling twice as hard .. but guess what now you know where hell lives and hangs out at , don't forget the exact spot !!!

Do you need a freshwater or saltwater license there?
So you can fish for stripe bass in the east river all year around?

The blues are crazy when they hit, will tear up your platstics. Can use spoons. We should do a fishing outing for a few Manhattan anglers sometimes

Yeah just keep your lure off the bottom in that area but I’ve caught some nice bass in that same spot
Oh you know it man! What is NOT on the video are the number of lures lost!!! :-)
Awesome!!
November through December is the times to go I have a secret spot that my dad shared with me and that one that broke you of could had been a bluefish
Gas Mask nope not a bluefish there really aren’t many bluefish in that river but there’s a chance but probably was a striper
Anwar Noureldin your right but when you there are bluefish in the east river they are giants like 10-13 pounds. But also think about it could had been a 15 pound stripper.
