SLEEP, INSOMNIA, FATIGUE AND ANXIETY - How to finally sleep and find night anxiety relief!
Вставка
- Опубліковано 1 жов 2024
- When we are anxious it can make falling asleep seem impossible and what is even worse, the night time struggles can make amplify anxiety during the day. This leads to a downward spiral that may seem to make your anxiety and sleep worse bit by bit, every single day.
In this video, I will explain how anxiety can lead to insomnia and severe fatigue and show you my tips and mindset changes that have enabled me to break free from this cycle.
During my 5 years dealing with anxiety, especially health anxiety I was entirely in the grip of my worries. Every waking minute my thoughts would go back to possible diseases that I could be suffering from and that just no doctor found out yet. All I could think of all day was my symptoms and what they could be a sign of. However, a few years into anxiety I have learned to manage my thoughts and could stop them from spiralling completely out of control and into panic attacks.
That is until night time… it was at night, right before bed, that my thoughts seem to be uncontrollable. I would lie there in my quiet room and my mind would automatically start scanning my body and focus in on physical sensations. For the most part it was my heart beat. Just listing in and soaking in every beat and how it felt like in my body made me cringe and at some point it was so intune with my body that I could even feel every single beat in my fingertips.
Other things that very very noticeable:
- I seemed to have breathing difficulties during the night
- burning skin sensations
- numbness in my fingers
- and the worst ones were these kind of brain zaps. They felt like short one second long electric shock sensations that ran down from the back of my head into my entire body and jolted me awake just as I was about to fall asleep.
The problem here is that we with anxiety feel these sensations in bed and start to excessively worry about them. When we do this repeatedly, instead of associating the bed as a safe place and sleep, our brain associates it with dread and worry time. We have imprinted this over and over again into our brains that whenever we lie back down into bed we jump right back into the high-alert mode with all its physical symptoms.
The great news is that the brain is able to unlearn and unpair these associations. We can retrain our brain and get that sleep we all need to have the energy to recover from anxiety.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As always I hope that this video helps you understand what is going on during these very normal anxiety recovery steps.
Hopefully you will feel more at ease and can concentrate on the more important parts of anxiety recovery. Which I describe in more detail here in this playlist:

Thank you for your kind words! Will do!
The psychiatrist laughed and gave me quetiapine wich didn't do shit for me... so i agree, this guy here is a blesing
Listen to me... You’re doing great right now. Just let this float away on its own. You and I will do this together . Don’t resist it , just imagine you and I are going through this together. We’re all here with you right now. Concentrate on you and I working together. Keep in mind I need you through this as well. You’re doing great. We’ll wisk this thing away in no time. See it’s already evaporating. I can hardly feel anything anymore. You did awesome! I love you! There you go... the emotion you’re feeling right now is your body releasing all that pent up anxiety....THIS emotion is good...let it all out... ahhhhh.
Thank you so much. I needed this.
Im dealing with fear of falling asleep now, when I doze off, fear kicks in and I think I almost died. I don't get enough sleep and I can feel it during the day. Thanks for the videos.
Why you have fear? You must know what you are afraid of. You need to take care of that, otherwise, you will be in flight and fight state. By being in this state, you won't feel good. You need to be honest.

What are the symptoms
The problem with anxiety is when you sort one symptom out another appears simply because your thoughts are still churning around in your head. It pops up in one form or another. I’ve had days where I wake up and I’m fine. I go for a walk and then have lunch. Then I might do some gardening or light woodwork project in my man cave. Then I feel a bit drained after a while. The negative thoughts start coming and the what if thinking prevails and you feel like jacking it in for the day. But if you give in, what will you do? Go inside and dwell on it more causing more misery? Best to carry on because giving up may cause feelings of failure and you may beat yourself up. Finish the task and then take it easy. It may be hard short term but in the long term you will be glad you didn’t give in to anxiety.
I am acollege student and i live alone and this thing is ruining my life its gotten to the point that at night i literally have to listen to the videos on this channel to go to bed because its the only thing that resonate with exactly how i feel ,i feel like i finally found someone who gets me and it really puts me at ease thank you so much 🙏

Insomnia from anxiety sucks! And the lack of sleep doesn't help you symptom wise, that's for sure! Lucky to find these helpful videos.

@@rommeljohngallego3427 When my anxiety was worse or thoughts I could not, no. It takes awhile to get used to again to fall asleep. What I started doing was waking up 2 hours earlier then usual and go for walks (do more) then I'd actually be tired.

@@rommeljohngallego3427 man I’ve been dealing with anxiety panic attacks and health anxiety since I was 22 I’m 35 now. It comes and goes I feel tired of it and sad for myself too but we got to keep going. Sorry for going off in a tangent. Yes most days there are days where I wake up all of a sudden in the middle of night with panic. What helps me is drinking some teas at night. Also, try and use some meditation. The best thing is to accept the feelings and let them be other wise they keep coming and coming. I sure hope o could take my own advice but I don’t. I use an app called DARE. It’s pretty helpful. I feel this pain really hard. I had a really bad period of insomnia a while back in which I couldn't sleep for several days and it scared me so much. I've experienced *ALL* of the symptoms you mentioned in the first 3 1/2 minutes! And, they never go away. I suffer from insomnia due to not just the symptoms you mentioned, but also physical problems going on with me. None of these tips work for me. It's rare that I'm able to fall back to sleep, and even when I do, it's never long enough to make up for the severe lack of sleep. I'm usually a walking zombie during the day. I’ve noticed that a lot of what you mention in this video relates to me a lot, though I can get to sleep and stay asleep, it’s mostly the fatigue and sleeping in that’s my problem as well as tension headaches. But the best thing I’ve taken from your videos is to just continue as normal, don’t let it interfere with my day. Great video! Recently been getting stressed again. Fatigue and muscle tension every morning is a sign to keep up with maintenance.
Being aware of signs and knowing how and and what to do is a life after recovery. We all go through phases of high anxiety and stress but if you know can identify it quickly and have the coping skills in place it wont go out of control

@@ImprovementPath The first thing I followed your direction by accepting that we might not be able to sleep. As soon as I accepted, I became more relax. The first month it took me about 3 hours to fall asleep. To ensure that I will have enough sleep was to sleep early, around 9 pm, I went to sleep. Usually, I would fall to sleep around midnight, then I will wake up 2 am, sleep again, 4 am woke up again. But if we added the numbers of hours, I would sleep about 5 to 6 hours. During the day, I was fine, but when it was time to go to bed, I felt uncomfortable because the fear that I wouldn't be able to sleep. It was a hell. Then I started taking Vitamin D3 and Omega 3, these two help to calm down, and at the same time, I walked for an hour after lunch so I got more relax..Long walk is very very important. Eventually, my sleeping was getting better. By the way, around those 3 months, my heartbeat was high...like close to 100 beat per minute. Your channel is really helpful.
I would like to let everybody know that I am 100% recover. The turning point is that once I am convinced that I did not have the disease that I thought I had. Once, I am convinced the recovery still take 4 years to be totally healed. The key is that we must know that we are fine (no doubt), after that we will be emotionally relax and recover.
Thank you !! I feel better

use the days to counteract the stress and work towards lowering it by exercise, a proper diet, PMR, journaling and walks in nature. This way you will set yourself up for a better nights sleep
Right now , when I try to fall asleep ... I get these electric shocks under my feet , or in my jaw
Also I get this weird mouth twitch along with a shockwave to my brain and that wakes me up
Very scary stuff
Wonderful
:)))
Thank you sir...
I got relif from your video.. bcoz i got same symptoms.. watching your video make me feel very good and stress free

From 2013 i am suffering from anxiety and panic attack Now i am facing anxiety of corona covid19
When i heard any death by corona my breathing problem starts shortness of breath
I can very much relate to the shortness of breath scare. This can be overcome my friend
Yes that's it works on me
awesome!
Anxiety as gone 😜
I’m not chillin
Damn you are so relatable
I have upcoming exams at university and I can’t sleep properly and I am constantly dizzy and short of breath. Dealing with anxiety for 1,5 years now :(
can you sleep now
Is ypur dizziness a swayjng sensation or the room is spinnjng? Mine is like im walking on a boat, a swauing sensation
Friend did you or anyone else here have one or multiple nights in a row where you couldn't fall asleep at all? How did you cope with the fear around sleepless days building? What happened? How did you overcome the being afraid of never sleeping again? This by far the worst aspect of anxiety. Would love to hear from you. Going through it bad right now.
Me! I’m at 7 weeks of insomnia and I have nights that I don’t sleep at all. And the nights that I do, it’s only one to two hours. I feel awful, and I don’t know how to make it stop.
Honestly friend! Moving my body to the point of exhaustion was the only cure I found. You have to work out to the point where your body demands sleep & wake up everyday.
Also getting control of your anxiety. But working out hard has balanced my nervous system! This is CRUCIAL
I had one complete day without sleep but when i found the i couldn’t sleep for the second night i took antianxiety drug with a low dose to sleep
Bro last year my lymph node got swollwen.i had a great phycological trauma.i visted almost hundred doctors all said it is negligible. But I was not beliveing them.I start to have palpitations ,chest pain, insomnia, etc etc
But from last year I am suffering from chronic neck pain ,headaches at the back side, and pressure in the chest ,.I
Can anxiety cause these
But I am not feeling anxious now
So why the symptoms.
I want to be away from this shit
What is this THE IMPROVEMENT PATH
Hey man, sorry you are going through this but understand and know that this is somehting that can be overcome. All the things you have just described are 1 to 1 the things that I have experienced during my anxiety days and yes, even if you dont feel anxious in that moment your stress levels are probably still very high.
Over the long period of anxiety we have accustomed so much to high levels of stress that it became our new normal... we dont even feel stressed but our body and mind are still in an alert state. Thats why the sensations even in moments you think you are not anxious
Get in contact same thing going with me
Great video as always! Keep those videos coming! Grtz. Roy💪
Hey Roy, really appreciate that man!
This is so me! Very accurate!
I’m sleeping somewhat ok (wake up a couple times during the night feeling anxious) but I still feel tired… so now that makes me anxious that maybe it’s not anxiety. I’ve been to the ER twice, had a CT scan, chest X-ray, blood tests, ECG, nothing. The doctor gave me medicine for migraines and I still feel headaches. I’m not sure what to do. This makes me more anxious.
Yeah those current feeling from chest and at the same time breathless, occur during drifting time.
If possible learn deep breathing and meditation techniques..if done consistently does help with relaxation.
What you explained is what I exactly have , getting much better . Still have alot of brain fog everyday and try not to worry about it
🖤

I hate myself
Why?
@@trailers314.. I saw this comment. I saw yours.. I wanted to hear why he hated himself.
I'm there now. Never felt this way b4.! But, I did something that is unforgivable, and the consequences has totally ruined my life. Meaning also.. my mental and physical health.
... Anxiety, insomnia, and Depression.... all because of my mistake. It's unimaginable forall this to even happen
