I used one today at Adorama Fair. The A7s is a better camera than the GH4. This camera is better in every single way. The A7R II has a backlit Sensor, and has much better low light than the A7R, the 5D mark 3 or the D810. This camera performs only 1.5 stops less than the A7s in low light. Test it today. It also has a S35 crop mode which eliminates the rolling shutter completely 100%. This is the real deal. I will have a review soon.

I'm viewing this on a Dell UltraSharp 2408WFP monitor, and I thought the clarity would quit at 1080p but I can see it is much sharper at 2160, and the color is nice. Most movies today have weird color anyway, everything has a depressing blue tint or orange tint, why that is I don't know, but I wish they would get back to natural colors.
OMG!! Thank you Sony!!!! Hey Canon, you COULD have done all of this and made it a proper DSLR with your 5Ds, but instead you cripple the video to junk, cripple the crop mode so you get no speed or buffer like with D810 and toss in a 2007 sensor! So wow, thank you Sony, I will now be grabbing an adapter and spending my money later this summer with you instead of with Canon.
Significantly more noise at low light shots comparing to A7s. Cause pixels are tiny, I want like A7S lower megapixel version with high low light performance and 4K internal video.
People should also look at the Samsung NX1 and see how that camera combines both superb detail with gorgeous color that's both naturally saturated and neutral in its color balance. That might put the Sony videos in perspective.

Free`Water Well, I can let you in on some things about it. Comparing the current edition of the sony A7R vs the Current A7S. The A7R has better dynamic range, it's extremely sharp. It is not the best for video however. The A7rii, will have that type of dynamic range but will be great for video. It will be much better than the current A7S. The A7S ii when it is announced, will probably be all of these same features, except on a lower MP sensor to handle more low light. However, I suspect the A7Rii is still going to look better in dynamic range and will handle low light well. So, what you have to ask yourself is this: Do you need to shoot video without a light kit over ISO 6400? Most of us don't. If you do, the Sony A7S ii will end up being better. But even if you are walking down a fairly dark city street you usually don't have to go over ISO 6400. As long as the Sony A7Rii holds up at ISO 6400 and I suspect it will, then you might want to think about that. If you are NOT a photographer, you may just want the A7S ii when it's announced. But if you're like me and you're a photographer/videographer, the A7S isn't the greatest thing for stills it's nowhere near as sharp as the A7R. Neither will the new one be, because the A7R is their high resolution high MP High dynamic range camera. Don't get the current generation of A7S, because it doesn't have internal 4k and even externally, it's not gonna work like this one. This one eliminates Moire. When you say it can only do a quarter of what the A7S can do in low light, you got to think about, what that quarter is. It's the quarter that most people are using. Most people don't walk into darkness and need to light it up, even most videographers, because they will have a lighting kit. When the A7S ii comes out, compare then side by side at 6400 and if the A7R is just as good at 6400, or even if it's almost as good, it wins in my eyes. Because I'm not setting up video shots for over 6400. If I am, It's going to be lit up with something. I have shot video in dark clubs and you don't have to go above 3200.
I am definitely upgrading to this camera from my 5d mark ii. I have been experimenting quite a lot with the RAW hack but the process is too long and demands a lot of space for storage. This sony is small and compact perfect for traveling and shoots 4K.FTW!! I love my canon but it's time to move on. : )

Why are so many people whining about blown highlights on the snowy mountain? These footage were Correctly Exposed and they truthfully resembled the scene under morning sunlight. Putting a gradient filter (physical or effect) to shade down the sky would destroy the beauty of nature. It really hurts to see shadow-headed trees and mountains.

I wouldn't complain too much about the quality of this video. Sony has a reputation for putting out presentation videos for cameras that are probably the worst examples you'll see. Just watch the FS7 video from Sony. Compare that to some of the videos from the FS7 that are out right now and it looks like it was shot and graded by an amateur. I know how much I love my A7s image, and I'm sure this will be a great camera as well.
What is the native ISO for this camera ? is it from 160, 320, 640, 1280 and so on. Is it a different path or rule... that minimize color noise in higher ISO ? Any suggestions

I'm just not wowed by the color balance on any of the 3 new contenders that Sony is releasing. To me they all look both under-saturated and too blue. Detail is not an issue, but it certainly isn't an issue with Samsung or Panasonic 4K cameras either.
Ken Ross sony promotion footage always like that, they always doing poor job at it. Just like a7s and fs7, the promotion video is awful but later after the devices got into handfull of people we shal see the true potential of the camera.

So be ware. It's not Full frame in 4K, it's Super 35 in 4K. Which is close to your Canon APSC sensor, like in the 7D, 60D, 70D. They want to lead you into confusion here.
Dadan ArdiI'm not talking especially about this post here, but the spec of the camera in general. Many people don't make the difference between 35mm and Super 35. Plus, they put the emphasis that this camera is full frame, so some people might get confused, I'm sure. Yeah it's full frame for 1080P but in 4K, it's cropped down to Super 35 which is close to an APSC Canon camera size. That's what I meant.
Symon Says TV actually it's support 4k in 35mm mode, the difference is in the super 35mm mode 4k video oversampled from 1.8 of 4k resolution. In 35mm i bet it use lines skipping or pixel binning. If that's correct the super 35mm will have the better 4k quality.
Symon Says TV plus you can add the metabones focal reducer adapter and actually have the s35 non-rolling shutter footage in real 35 look, something like that anyway.
just purchased my a7s not even a month ago and im not sure how i feel about this camera. here's why im keeping my A7s 1. by the rate sony is pumpin out new models an A7s ii announcement isnt too far away and if this is the upgrade the A7R ii got i can only image what the A7S ii will get 2. both A7S and A7R ii can only output 4:2:0 and only with an Atomos Shogun you get 4:2:2 (so i'd rather get an atomos) 3. with that small screen of both models you will still want an external monitor, why not just get the atomos. lol 4. with the purchase of a a7S and atomos you get $500 off. lol. 5. to my understanding, you can only record up to 5 mins internally on the new A7R ii . reasons i would want to get an A7R ii 1. internal 4k...but damn only 5 minutes and for 4:2:2 i'll still need an atomos shugon 2. as a photographer 40+ mega pixels sounds very nice compared to 12 MP 3. as a cinematographer 5 axis stabilization sounds really good. idk there are some features i would want to return my A7S for but i'm not so quick to jump shit...i'll roll with the A7s and invest in a shogun (image on that thing is amazing) then wait to see reviews of the A7R ii and posssible A7s ii announcement.

Всем привет. До каких высот совершенства дойдет фото и видео техника компании Сони, но эта камера поражает своими возможностями, не нужен и средний формат. Никакие конкуренты не достигли такого качества фотографии и кинематографического видео, в полном смысле слов "фотография" и "видео". Сам уже давно забыл о существовании какой либо фототехники кроме Сони.
Do anyone here know what's the low light performance like? Just fyi... I'm looking a 35mm Full Frame DSLR that can shoot 4K internally with Canon 5DM3 equivalent or "almost as good as a7s" low light performance.

Aaron Madulara both very capable cameras, if you don't need amazing low-light capabilities, the a7rii is an amazing camera
Alright, thanks. Now i think about it i'd like to use it for some photography too. Then the A7R II will probably be better right? I'm starting school in Asia and wanna take some crazy pictures too.
So be ware. It's not Full frame in 4K, it's Super 35 in 4K. Which is close to your Canon APSC sensor, like in the 7D, 60D, 70D.

Dadan ArdiI'm not talking especially about this post here, but the spec of the camera in general. Many people don't make the difference between 35mm and Super 35. Plus, they put the emphasis that this camera is full frame, so some people might get confused, I'm sure. Yeah it's full frame for 1080P but in 4K, it's cropped down to Super 35 which is close to an APSC Canon camera size. That's what I meant.
Symon Says TV actually it's support 4k in 35mm mode, the difference is in the super 35mm mode 4k video oversampled from 1.8 of 4k resolution. In 35mm i bet it use lines skipping or pixel binning. If that's correct the super 35mm will have the better 4k quality.
Symon Says TV plus you can add the metabones focal reducer adapter and actually have the s35 non-rolling shutter footage in real 35 look, something like that anyway.

just purchased my a7s not even a month ago and im not sure how i feel about this camera.
here's why im keeping my A7s
1. by the rate sony is pumpin out new models an A7s ii announcement isnt too far away and if this is the upgrade the A7R ii got i can only image what the A7S ii will get
2. both A7S and A7R ii can only output 4:2:0 and only with an Atomos Shogun you get 4:2:2 (so i'd rather get an atomos)
3. with that small screen of both models you will still want an external monitor, why not just get the atomos. lol
4. with the purchase of a a7S and atomos you get $500 off. lol.
5. to my understanding, you can only record up to 5 mins internally on the new A7R ii .
reasons i would want to get an A7R ii
1. internal 4k...but damn only 5 minutes and for 4:2:2 i'll still need an atomos shugon
2. as a photographer 40+ mega pixels sounds very nice compared to 12 MP
3. as a cinematographer 5 axis stabilization sounds really good.
idk there are some features i would want to return my A7S for but i'm not so quick to jump shit...i'll roll with the A7s and invest in a shogun (image on that thing is amazing) then wait to see reviews of the A7R ii and posssible A7s ii announcement.
