In this episode of The Tudor Travel Guide's A-Z of Tudor Places, we go in search of the Tudor history of Eltham Palace, a favourite pleasure palace of medieval kings and nursery of royal children during the early Tudor period. The palace played a major role in the medieval History of England. It is one of the medieval palaces that I would highly recommend visiting.

Thank you for the detailed historical information you've given us on Eltham Palace. This has greatly added to my inquisite mind about Tudor buildings. However, I was looking forward to getting a glimpse of the interiors of the Palace. No doubt you've shown us the ornately carved massive roof of the main hall and a view of the side facade of the historic house. But none of the inner rooms or the surrounding landscape or the buildings. I would very much want to see those things also. Maybe some other time. Thanks again.
Thanks so much for caring to reply, Sarah. It's so sad that it's now a three hundred and eighty years since the Civil War and since then no sovereign or government for that matter has found Eltham Palace fit to be restored to its old glory ! Is that it ? I am surprised that as a national heritage building it still remains uncared for over three and a half centuries despite the existence of so many trusts and organizations for the preservation of art and culture.
🙂
She talks too much and does not show the palace
