I have been to the Old Hall many times over the last 20 years it was absolutely fab beautiful and lots of interesting displays but English Heritage have taken over and lots of people have said that's they've spoilt it hopefully fully they will put the displays back i haven't been myself but will be going in the next 2 weeks
Its amazing to look at from the outside

No, no displays, sadly. They are focusing on the architectural history of the house, rather than its social history. Actually, I am putting out a video tomorrow from my visit over the summer that shows more of how it is now it is run by English Heritage. Maybe I should do an opinion piece that talks about why I think the social history of the house needs to be reinstated. I have also heard from many people that they miss that now at Gainsborough.

Sarah when we visited here a few years back we were staying at one of the nearby Landmark trust properties The Chateau . When we arrived there we had no idea of what was available in the area so when I came across this place I was absolutely thrilled. It’s everything you say such a wonderful building and you can imagine the hustle and bustle of the house. Thank you for another wonderful tour guide

My primary school was right next to the Old Hall so I went with school every year, it is so realistic and we got to dress up and pretend to be from their time!

I wouldn't go anymore English heritage have ruined it, taken away all the displays and it's just an empty shell of its former glory

@@TheTudorTravelGuide yes I live less 5 minutes away and have been visiting the hall all my life and after my visit last week I have to say I was very disappointed. If you have visited previously you will have seen many different displays depicting the Tudor lifestyle but now it's pretty much empty. I do hope they bring some of the displays back as for now I can see alot of people being disappointed especially when it's almost 20 pounds for 2 people and it's basically an empty buildings unless you was just very interested in the architecture I'd not recommend it, which is sad as it was one of the best places to visit in this area for people into history.
I would however highly recommend the gainsborough heritage centre open on the weekend, it doesn't have much Tudor stuff but gives a good look at the town and its history, the staff are very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.
