The pieces are so beautiful. Clothing from the 30s and 40s are my favorite. Ruth and Eve did such a wonderful job explaining the pieces and their innovation
Eltham Palace is a hidden gem! Ruth is a wonderful historian and it's great to see her daughter following in her footsteps with such enthusiasm. Lovely video :-)
Honestly Ruth and Eve remind me of me and my own mother lol Ruth is so smart and strong and she just commands the room and Eve just emulates and amplifies her Mom’s energy. Strong women raising strong women give me such life!!!
Ruth is such a likeable character. She so enthusiastic and energetic, i love how many times she just 🤩😲🤯🤩😍 when discovered new (well, not exactly new) things.
Is Eve an historian as well? She certainly sounds like it, either that or she just picked it up by Ruth, the enthusiasm and clear description-- very lovely.
Answer found: the architects were Swedish, Rolf Engströmer and Jerk (pronounced 'yairk'!) Werkmäster. The latter was born in the same tiny town as me, what are the odds...!
Good spot Henrik! The Courtauld's who owned Eltham Palace did a lot of travelling, so we expect that this was one of their holiday destinations. They even had their own map room for planning their travel adventures! You can watch more about their map room here: ua-cam.com/video/Jo1vAzHxUOA/v-deo.html
now imagine the same video with 2 hetero males doing the commenting and the feeling it would evoke, probably a kind of awkward slightly sexist one... And I wonder how this sadness came to be, that so much is considered sexist nowadays and trown into the same drawer as truly pervert thinking... I truely believe one can enjoy the beauty of clothing and even bodyshapes or nakedness without any sexuality beeing involved, no matter what sex one has, but it seems to me, that our current society has a different view. 🤔
Ruth's enthusiasm for history is infectious. Nice little clip that.

English Heritage I love the 1930s film like Alfred Hitchcock. I prefer men fashion in the 1900s-1940s

How all of the houses from different time periods are preserved in England I wish we had a lot more of that here
Eve is a chip off the block! Love them both!
Can we get more videos of this wonderful duo?
This place has been used in many Agatha Christie mystery videos.
To be honest, after seeing Ruth and Eve in several documentaries I'm a bit smitten with them. #ginger
I love their hair styles

I like it but would love to see this same thing done for Tudor and or Edworden time
That's Stockholm at 00:23! Town hall, cathedral, royal palace. I wonder why they chose that for that wall!
And the Riddarholmen church.

Nan was in her 20s in the 30s and made all her clothes. Mum in the 50s would not be seen out without her hat and gloves.

❤️❤️❤️❤️ U !!!!
I thought we’d get to see the clothes in this video... instead it’s ladies appreciating bits that are off-screen...

They look like twin not mother and daughter 🤣
