I was there that day and this truck lit up big and fast in the drive through. It was attended to quickly and the Arby’s is already being rebuilt on that side. We have great first responders and I’m thankful no one was hurt.
Thank you for an update! Very glad it got taken care of as soon as they could and that they'll be repairing the building. I was like wtf did it run into the building but then realized it was probably in the drive through. So scary, especially since the truck went up and then the building caught fire 😮
@yancyjenkinssr1824 if it went up as fast as the video shows, there wasn't time, and it would have put more people in danger. Hate to say it this way, but keeping it closer to the building likely kept the truck from just exploding.
I don't know what some of you people are complaining about. It only took the first due fire apparatus about 3 minutes from the start of the video to arrive on scene. It only took 90 seconds more to get water on the fire, and 30 seconds more for the fire to start to darken down. Seven minutes from the start, all visible flames were knocked down. That's a pretty damned GOOD response time, especially for a rural department. NO, the driver wasn't going to stay in his burning car and try to move it. And NO, the employees weren't going to try to put the fire out themselves. In this situation, the fire is too big, and would spread too fast. They knew that. And the manager's priority, in that case, is the safety of their crew and customers. NOT putting themselves in danger to save a building that is insured and can be quickly, easily rebuilt. It's really easy to sit there and complain from the other side of a screen. It's easy to find fault, when you're not the one doing the job yourself. I swear, some people just aren't happy, unless they have something to bitch about. But I bet most of the complainers wouldn't dare run to the flames themselves, to try and stop them. Me, I thought it was a great video, and I thought the firefighters did a great job. All heroes in my book!
I agree with you that it only took a minute and a half from when the engine maxi brake was set until wet stuff was on the red stuff! They probably all have headpiece communications in the engine and they were discussing what their procedure was going to be before they disembark the engine. I think it was well choreographed and timely, and everybody expended the amount of energy they needed to get the job done without overdoing it

The fire was knocked down in less than a minute after the fire truck showed on scene. Looked pretty scary when the building started to burn. Yes. Most vehicle fires start in a place that is very difficult to reach, ie, under the dash, or under the hood. Either place, it will stall and not move under its own power. Good luck with moving it, or putting it out.

Looks like a 90’s F150 or F250. Several years of that series up into 96/97 had some problems with either the ignition switch or alternator starting a fire. One day on a pizza delivery my 1993 6 cylinder F150 had a Smokey smell and I saw the voltage gauge drop so I returned to the restaurant and grabbed the fire extinguisher. The alternator was smoking but didn’t catch on fire. I stayed by for a while until it cooled down.

This appears to be a Ford truck that was in the year model range for the recall of the brake fluid level sensor wiring harness. Bsically the fluid could leak into the sensor and short it out causing it to catch fire. That is a late eighties f150 pick up.The recall recall was for late 90s, earlier 2000s vehicles. That particular model in the video had an issue with overheating switches. Most likely, the head light switch, which had a resistor built in it.
Yeah - and all because of someone who couldn't properly maintain their $400 piece-of-crap Ford from 1978. How much does a fire extinguisher at Wal Mart Cost - $10? This dude obviously didn't even have that much to spend and keep in the vehicle.
I know this is late, but they weren't out of work. They could still serve people inside. The restaurant would have been shut down for a day or two of investigations and cleaning, no more. The repair work on the drive-through would have started immediately after that, and the inside would have been open during that time. Service industry companies, especially large chains, are very, very skilled and experienced at disaster recovery. They work off of pre-existing plans that have been refined and tested over 50 years and more. You go to that restaurant today, I promise you there's no sign that anything ever happened.
I wonder if the truck owner is held liable and if the truck owners insurance covers this type of commercial damage. The insurance scam these days makes you ask the question because insurance does not want to pay for anything anymore but you are required to have it

That overhang was unnecessarily overbuilt - and it cost them. It trapped the flames and - if not for the rapid response by fire - could have engulfed the entire structure. All you really need is something big enough to cover the driver's side of a vehicle, so any flames can escape and reduce chance of extension.
My question is, no one in the Arby's thought to use a fire extinguisher before this fire got out of hand? Now the truck is total loss & store caught fire by, having a over hang/ roof at the drive thru, which the fire of the truck caused. Also only one engine showed up for this?
Customer: Aren’t your burgers flame broiled? Arby’s worker: No sir, that’s Burger King Customer: Never mind , I’ll take care of it (pulls acetylene torch from back seat😳)
Hate that for Arby’s. Hope the person got out and was OK. Hope there was minimal interior damage to the building. Truck looked old and ragged out so likely no insurance unfortunately

In watching I was perplexed that the 1st due engine didn’t layout. That overhang was unnecessarily overbuilt - and it cost them. It trapped the flames and - if not for the rapid response by fire - could have engulfed the entire structure. All you really need is something big enough to cover the driver's side of a vehicle, so any flames can escape and reduce chance of extension.
Was that firetruck dispatched from Circleville?
Los Angeles, and made a wrong turn at Albuquerque. Unreal slow response. Lazy.
My question is, no one in the Arby's thought to use a fire extinguisher before this fire got out of hand? Now the truck is total loss & store caught fire by, having a over hang/ roof at the drive thru, which the fire of the truck caused. Also only one engine showed up for this?
WHY NOT USE THE MASTER STREAM
BUT I DONT SEE AND HOW FAR IS A FIRE HYDRANT IS
Customer: Aren’t your burgers flame broiled?
Arby’s worker: No sir, that’s Burger King
Customer: Never mind , I’ll take care of it (pulls acetylene torch from back seat😳)
Hate that for Arby’s. Hope the person got out and was OK. Hope there was minimal interior damage to the building. Truck looked old and ragged out so likely no insurance unfortunately
Was not expecting an incident in my town to pop up in my recommended lolol
ARBY'S: We Got the Heat 🔥
Who is the guy in the black car with a tiny orange light on top?
That's what i was wondering. Im thinking it's and ambulance chaser thinking their important. They like to get in the way.
@@samtheantiqueman"Ambulance chaser" is what you call a *lawyer*. I think you meant to say "rent-a-cop", which is slang term for a security guard who drives an off-duty black Nissan with a tiny flashing amber light on the roof.
Gives a whole new meaning to the phrase "Roast Beef🥺🤔
Why at the beginning did a cop push it out from under there could have saved the building
Did they save the cherry turnovers?
Can’t believe owner of truck on fire couldn’t have rolled her forward a bit to lessen the damage to Arby’s.
Wiring may have failed preventing shifting
@@bm03431except that it is a mechanical linkage
I BET IT WAS TERRORIST ATTACK
The engine would have turned off within seconds of the fire starting. Impossible to move.
@@GOPRepubliklan😂😂😂
I hope the driver has good insurance.
Did an Arial unit show up at all or did anyone ever get up on the roof to check for extension?? I think anywhere else, that would have gone to a full building fire response with ladder or tower support.
I hope no one was hurt, but I feel sorry for the American fellows who see their restaurant burning. They will have to do without this fantastic healthy food. It's sad!
Don't worry they surely have 8 other ones on that street.
ARBYS! WE HAD THE MEATS !!!
The Longhorn across the street still has the meats.
Sorry folks, it might take longer at the drive thru. Please be patient. 😂
Basic car insurance isn't going to cover all that damage.
NO NO NO NOOOOE!!!
They have all wrong...
Burger King's the Flame Broiled Ones
ARBY's is We Have the Meats...
In watching I was perplexed that the 1st due engine didn’t layout. Knowing nothing about Chillicothe FD I would have thought a truck company would have been on the 1st alarm and opened the area up to check for extensions. I was spoiled in my career, on a box assignment like this we would have had 3-engine companies, 1-truck company and a BLS or ALS unit with a Battalion Chief. A commendable job of knocking the fire down by the engine crew and a fantastic job by the videographer.
Ok work by a volunteer team. Train more on two men on the line, then two more to get a supply line set up.
Overall an ok job
Wow. Crazy. Did they get out of the car
It takes these idiots way too long to start putting water on the fire. This goes for fire fighters all across the country.
In Europe as soon as firemen pull up to a fire they are putting water on the fire in less than a minute.
"Hey, Burger King! I'll show you flame broiled!"
Oh no! Hope no one was in the vehicle so 😢 been through Chillicothe.
I can smell that smoked brisket sandwich already 😮
The drive-through is definitely gonna be off-line for a few days
That piece of awning fell very close to the firefighters
Didn't think the horsey sauce was that hot!
is this at 35 and 50?
That is really sad to see this happening. That vehicle should have never gone through the drive through. But thank you for getting the fire under control. What a great blessing. Thank you for your hard work to the firefighters. And rescue.
