This type of mask won't effectively stop SARS-CoV-2, as kitchen paper lacks the most crucial electrostatic effect of melt-blown fabrics that effectively keeps aerosol away. Change the filter material and the whole practice should work flawlessly.
none of the commercial ones do. This was meant to be just a temporary solution for those occasions that you happen to need something

Well, not N95, but much safer than many of those craps on sale! I saw a few pro people in labs do this.
