    I wanna give out an official apology for the suddenly loud sound effects throughout the video. The contrast in volume proved to be more unpleasant than funny and is one part of this video I regret. Thanks for the support and feedback all the same, and I promise the listening experience for my future videos will be more pleasant.

    One change I noticed because I only play the Xbox version is that the very rare material “adamantium” can be looted infinitely by simply entering and exiting the load zone wherever the ore is found. According to the UESP, this only occurs on the Xbox version. I’ve been convinced, for a while, that the Xbox version probably harbors more glitches than is known, due to the fact that barely anyone plays or documents it (especially the first version). I also found a glitch that I haven’t seen documented, I don’t know if it’s exclusive, but it basically allows you to dupe items without the console. You trade a sword with soul trap to a vendor, cast command NPC on them, summon a weak creature, and then attack the creature. Once the vendor kills and soul traps the creature, you can open your inventory to see that it has been replaced with the merchant inventory, drop your desired items. Once you do so, wait, and then open your inventory to see that it’s back to normal. Buy the item back from the vendor and then grab the one on the floor and now you have double

      I’ve been playing it on my Xbox for the last few months and yeah.. plagued with glitches that have no solution or documentation. I can’t talk to half the Daedric statues, some of the guild quest lines soft lock because the quest givers tell me they “don’t have any more work for me right now” fuck sakes hahaha it’s been a lot of fun though

    • @BarenziahSimp
      @BarenziahSimp 5 місяців тому +3

      @@patrickmccutcheon8860 I think that a number of the Daedric quests are locked behind a certain level, iirc. And the quest giver issue may be because of your rank. If you ask for advancement, they’ll provide new quests for someone of your rank. Not only do you need a specific amount of guild reputation, but also you need to reach a certain level of proficiency in one of the guild’s required skills.

    Mine did this fun little thing where, just after I got the Dragonbone Cuirass and started running toward Vivec, my save file got corrupted and I lost 50 hours of progress.
    To be fair, that is the very day I started keeping at least 3 separate save files for every game I play.

      It's said that the Xbox version of the game becomes more unstable/worse the longer you play the game (at least on og hardware.) Though I've heard save corruption is also a thing on the unmodded PC version. Spaghetti code unfortunately is not an Xbox exclusive in this case.

    Playing Morrowind with an xbox controller just hits different. It would be my most preferred way to play if it weren’t for the god awful fps drops. We’re still waiting for an xbox UI mod for pc. You can technically use a controller for pc Morrowind if you really want to but it is not UI-friendly at all ☹️

      It is not a 1:1 but try openmw for pc. You can play the game with a controller. You only need a keyboard for naming (spells and saves). I think steamui can create a virtual keyboard to avoid this as well. Playing the game on pc with a controller feels great.

    You show promise, but please, do not neglect audio levels.
    It’s arguably just as important as the script, editing and source videos you chose to use for the video itself.
    If viewers find something hard to listen to, you will find many people don’t care to finish the video or don’t return to it for reasons such as sleep aid.
    Again, I like the video, but for the love of Thalos, my ears…

    Dispose of all bodies. Close every door. Store useless gear in a rat and let it despawn. Try not to pick up pointless items. Never overwrite an old save. Always delete other saves and create new one. Theres a whole faq on game FAQs that saved many playthroughs. Also the disk drive was picky.

    I can't put into words how incredible this game was, when it was released on PC.
    I still remember how they had a deal here in germany. you could buy the original english version of the game first and after they finished up german localization, you could bring your english game to the store and switch it up for the german version : )
    that way you could play the game couple of months earlier than you normally could. that's how important the game was back then 😀

    Hey love the video you earned a sub. Content like yours is lacking these days. People who would cover such a topic will do it in the most sterile and boring way. No humor, no insights, and just very matter of fact. Your content is a breath of fresh air. The only thing I would suggest is to use less harsh sounds and avoid audio spikes. The type of people who will watch this type of content are like me who enjoys this stuff, and people looking for background noise. those who sleep to this stuff are still listening but want claimer sounds. This type of content attracts these types, your channel would grow if you catered to both groups. I like your humor, I like the old sound effects, the volume doesnt bother me but it will alienate some.

    So... Turns out the GOTY edition does include the improved journal, allowing you to search for keywords.
    When you're on the journal, press A to open the Topic menu, listing the letters from A to Z, you select the letter you desire, then you're presented with a list of keywords starting with the letter you chose, then you can choose a certain keyword, and it will display all unique mentions of it on dialogue.
    There's even a button prompt for it under the journal, so I don't really understand where you got that info from.
    Still, nice video... aside from the ear rupturing contrast with the audio.

  • @au3arnold

    I remember in the original Morrowind copy for the Xbox, I discovered that you could create a spell that summon creatures as if they were NPCs and they would never despawn.
    You do this by creating a spell like this:
    Summon "Creature" for 1 second
    Soultrap for 1 second on target (radius doesn't matter)
    Then you take that spell and look straight down where your feet would be and cast.
    My dumbass 12 year old self would create armies of Golden Saints and then smack them to make them aggro then jump on a house and create armies of Dremora and make them go to war in the center of Ald'Ruhn while cooking steaks on top of my Xbox.

    3:28 In defense of this loading screen, this game came out back in 2002, when RPGs weren't particularly common on home consoles. So you have a bunch of people who dont have experience with RPGs, and they may not know about this mechanic. Also kids may not understand either. Also the later games show whether an item is owned by someone or not.

    Hear's another glitch for the original xbox release, this does not work with the goty version. You need a bound weapon spell or a weapon that has that enchantment on it. Use the spell or Weapon. You want to keep switching that bound weapon back to another weapon. I think you have to hold the button you pull out the weapon with and then hold right trigger. While your rapidly switching weapons your skill associated with the bounded weapon will permanently increase in the matter of seconds. You can go from a very low skill level to being maxed out in the matter of seconds. Assuming the game doesn't crash.

  • @Jacobiwankenoby
    @Jacobiwankenoby 5 місяців тому +1

    I didn't see it mentioned but in the original version there was a target glitch. If you looked directly at your feet and cast a spell like night eye or water breathing it would be a permanent effect.

    yeah dude, the audio here is cracked, it needs to be "ducked" when you're speaking so we can hear you, its kind of like "blurring" and the audio and lowering the volume, i keep thinking that something else on my pc is making that music because its too clear. that and that sudden ear grape, theres a distortion effect that will give the *impression* that theres loudness involved without having to make it that loud. otherwise, solid video man.

    late to the party but just wanted to point out a mistake about the keyword search not being on the xbox port because it is there litterally staring you in the face in the video at 9:50 the topics option when you press (A) gives you a list of the alphabet with all the keywords under there respective letter just like the pc version... so otherwise than the small nitpick great video!

    When I was a young lad, I bought a copy of this game from a pawn shop. It was AMAZING. I had so much fun, but there was one problem - the CD was kinda scratched, and it would crash a lot (I later learned this was actually just the game being programmed like shit), so when my birthday rocked around, my cousin bought me the GOTY edition from that same pawn store. I put the DVD in, I played and searched for this new content. Had no internet, so I couldn't just look it up. Went searching everywhere, couldn't find it. Then I realized that the case was GOTY, but the disc inside was just another copy of the original version. Heart status: broken.

    Side not on the loading scrren tip about stealing.
    It was a good idea to include it. Since the game landed on the xbox in 2002. And the xbox only came out in late 2001. If you had this game on it. You likely had never even played a game with stealing mechanics, let alone consequences for it like a bounty. Youd more then likely just played Legend of zelda recently where no one really cared.
    Now on the other hand. Im sure the first thing some one stole if morrowind was a random thing on a shelf in the start area. And were told not to do that or put in jail, lol.

  • @Sonicracer100
    @Sonicracer100 5 місяців тому

    You know, I'm trying to think if Morrowind at the time was probably the most accessible way to play the game. Nowadays Morrowind can run on a cheap 200 dollar computer without issue but back then, most computers probably ran the game just as well as xbox version if not marginally better.
    Definitely a relic. but definitely a curiosity, and hey it's still Morrowind!
    Also in all versions of Morrowind, NPCs when entering a cell slightly move a little bit each time a cell is loaded. This can cause NPCs falling off silt strider platforms, some NPCs running into walls, but most devastatingly can cause some NPCs fall out of the world in interior cells because they effectively clipped through the wall and died. For some quests IE the main quest, this can break things.
    On PC one can just use the reset actors(ra) console command every once in awhile. On xbox though, you have no such function so you're on a pseudo time limit for some NPCs. The one to be most concerned about is the Orc in the mages guild due to how close she is to the wall and the high traffic the area usually gets in a playthrough.
