I dearly hope that Huawei will be back to the game. Someday. Having been using a Huawei device, I can say that this is the best Chinese smartphone brand that can easily go toe-to-toe with Samsung and Apple (it actually did) if not for the ban and the Google affair.
Other than Huawei, there is no Android company that optimizes software, battery, chip, and camera as well as they do. Hopefully one day they won't be banned anymore.
it was not always so, I had huawei accend P1, P6, P7, P8, P10, P20 and now P30 pro. And from P1 - P7 it was kinda sluggish compared to other phones with similar or identical specs but for a fraction of the price(that's why I bought them) except P1 that I got for free. In my experience, Huawei started working really hard on their software from P8 and onwards because they started to feel really fucking nice and now I really don't want to go back to Samsung or HTC or any other brand for that matter, but I can't get my hands on a new Huawei phone in Norway. I might keep my P30 Pro until it totally breaks apart. (This is just my personal experience obv, also I had other phones from other brands in between multiple of these Huawei phones, but I always ended up buying another Huawei phone in the end)
This is i want to say too.. the battery optimization is superb after almost 4 years its still going strong if my p30 pro is a samsung phone the battery life will be depleting like crazy, ill be waiting for the p60 pro i can live without google or dl gspace..

Any one who watches Marques Brownlee and becomes a follower are just a Apple cult. Kirin processor is no kidding, to be honest. I don't know about anyone else but my Huawei Nova 5t with Kirin 980 still runs smooth on basic gaming like Mobile Legend. Yes, it's not as smooth as nowadays chipset but for a chip from way back in the end of 2019, it's performance is undeniably good.
Dxomark rankings taken into account or not, I can see why this phone is #1. Those are some ridiculously good images, wouldn't expect it from such a small sensor. Huawei does great image processing. I still prefer that Pixel look, but this is a close second.
That was once again a nice video Nick. It shows once again that Huawei is not 100 percent defeated despite the ban. I am an old user of the Huawei p30 pro and could only report positively about it and am very fond of the phone. It is nice to see that through Android open source. The possibility exists to supply such phone anyway with Android. With the emulator it is as if you have normal Android installed. I currently use Pixel 7 pro, with which I am also very satisfied. Unfortunately, the only thing that bothers me a bit is the somewhat darker night shots. If you see that the Huawei has a smaller sensor, but still captures a lot of light. That is quite an achievement. If Huawei didn't have the ban. Then I would probably have gone back to Huawei. However, I have grown very fond of the Tensor and the Pixel. It has a lot of smart features. What I am only missing in the Pixel is a little more battery life and a completely offline. Usable assistant . I only have one question. Let me surprise you all. I have been a long time Huawei user and recently switched to ZTE axon 40 ultra. ZTE phones have God tier camera system. 4k 120fps and 8k on all lenses. The main camera is 35mm rather than 24 which makes it sooooo good for everyday use.
Unfortunate they haven't brought Harmony OS outside of China and still only have EMUI. Thankfully, I live in China and have the Harmony OS 3 model, and it def makes a difference. Although the EMUI is similar to the Harmony OS, It's not neraly as fluid and still has missing things that really make the whole Huawei ecosytem click together and feel fluid similar to what apple does with their devices. It also just feels smoother and better looking compared to EMUI. Hope you get the update/launch soon!

This review was great. I'm currently still using my mate 20 pro. It works perfectly fine. It is also the first time ever I haven't upgraded my phone to something newer because of the Google ban. Knowing that I can seamlessly use Google on a Huawei again gives me optimism. But one more thing. If anyone can answer. I'm a UA-cam premium user. considering my account is linked to my app Store so Google just automatically pulls off their money every month. Will that still he the case on this new model?

If I understand correctly, you open the app and just sign in with your Google account? Does the app work 100% the same then as on a Google Service phone? Or is it buggy? I played around with the Orange Mate 50 Pro and the interface feels smoother than the Samsung S23 Ultra interface. I need to choose between the two. I'm upgrading from my P20 Pro.

the ryyb sensor at night looks weird. the greens turn into slightly yellow because of the ryyb sensor making the photo seem brighter than it should be and pictures look overprocessed.

Apparently they do update automatically if downloaded with GBox and the App gallary prompts updates to downloaded APK's which is a nice bonus.
Exactly, I always use my huawei mate 30 pro to control TVs for example. Its super good.
Been controlling AC's and TV's effortlessly. It's a very underrated feature that I always look for in any new phone.
