To me, it is REALLY impressive that Huawei can still make phone cameras that go toe to toe with the best. We need to remember Huawei has been suffering from US sanctions for a good 4 years now, which had Huawei scrambling to come up with supply chain alternatives to even have components for their phones. I am leaving my Huawei Mate 20 for the new Pixel 7 Pro just because buying a Huawei phone is too much of a compromise right now, but the second the sanctions are loosened, I will go back to Huawei. Honestly, I still like the microphone from Huawei 50 Pro, quite good for communication in noisy condition. the camera I still prefer for Mate 50 Pro and IP 14 Pro Max...
Hey Chris I was waiting for your review. Huawei mate 50 pro is a really successful phone. It is a device that will meet expectations in terms of photography. In the video part, the iPhone has always been successful, but the photo performance seems to be disappointing on the iPhone. Overall the pixel does a pretty good job. Although there is an embargo on software, I hope Huawei can supply all the parts it wants in terms of hardware. I really wonder what Huawei, who can achieve this with the 1/1.56 size sensor, would do with the 1 inch sensor used by Xiaomi. Hope to see detailed review of mate 50 pro as soon as you can. Take care of yourself.
my eyes might be failing but to me the mate 50 pro looked quite a bit sharper in the daytime ultrawide video. Then for the rest of the daylight video it also looked sharper to me but only a tiny tiny bit more than the iphone. stabilization definitely wasn't as good tho
the pixel 7pro is underexposed in almost every photo, that's a way to capture some details and avoid highlight clipping, but not the right one. my px6 has the same problem kinda a shame that they couldn't find a nice inbetween. the iphone crushed so many colors and highlights, geez! the mate is definitely fav!
I think this is the best comparison review I've seen. I felt it was an honest review. If Pixel can improve the video shot, it's totally gonna be bye bye for iphone.
For me the Mate 50 pro did the best with the beach/ocean/ clouds video, as it brings out the colours better, esp of the ocean;and in the night pictures, it has a nice warmth. For portraits & facial pics, the iPhone 14 pro does the best job. The pixel phone is okay, a bit of a in betweener.. IMHO
an excellent comparison! For photos I like Huawei's post processing most of all - more natural, less digital I would say. For video iPhone is probably the best. P.S. still thinking if it is worth to change my Mate 40 pro to Mate 50 pro... a very difficult decision...
On the whole, the Pix7 pro's control of color and the processing of large dynamic videos still needs to be improved. The color control of the Mate 50 pro has obviously improved a lot. It is not just to please the eye, but it tends to restore the real color. However, in terms of accuracy, there are some subtle differences that can be detected by the naked eye. The strongest king at present is the 14 pro max, of course, considering the high price and the suppression of Huawei chips. All this is a matter of course.
For me: Pixel 7 Pro: sharpest photos on all conditions, great HDR photos Mate 50 Pro: Great color, Great HDR Photos, have soft photos, but bad selfies photos (if comparing with 2 this phone) iPhone 14 Pro: The best Video, great lowlight ultrawide quality, but bad HDR on photos nb: portrait selfie will not working if you not choose the blur effect and using 0.8x selfies or wide selfies
Mate 50 Pro: if you want to capture what you see... Pixel 7 Pro: if you want to capture what you would like to see... iPhone 14 Pro max: if you want people to see you....
I don't think you can go wrong with the iphone or the pixel. Pick your os and go for it. Pixel is a week old and will more than likely get some enhancements. And the iPhone videos are super
great one! I'm having fun testing the P7P. Video is somewhat underwhelming as per your findings but I'm hopeful a software update will improve this to some degree
Rapid auto exposure changes I think. I left them all in auto mode. fixed locked exposure would be best on all of them. But I test in auto mode most people use, no manual mode here.
is anyone else noticing screen colour shifting/pulsing on off (intermittently)on the display of the pixel 7 pro? I've noticed the colour switching/glitching back and forth (mainly when in the camera or viewing pictures)
Hi, Please can you say if your Huawei mate runns on Harmony os 3, or EMUI 12, and if you have had a significant updates. Much appreciate your channel and sorry to bother you about this. Thank you
Great content as always. i would like to suggest something. What if you change the mic to the phone you are talking about as you mention it. For example as you say "I will zoom in with the Mate 50 Pro to 5x" You use the microphone on that specific phone. I think that would feel more fluid and easier to follow along with instead of having to shift attention to the speaker icon up top all the time and for example think "ok that's the Pixel mic" While you are saying "The Iphone isn't picking up the sun as good" or whatever. if you get me. :)
Hi Chris. What's the name of your parrot? Perhaps you could include him in a video sample. Also, I hope Google fixes the white balance to remove the blue hue in some of the photos.
Extremely rushed! Pretty much the worst camera test so far. Not to mention the conclusions on some of the pictures are just ridiculous. 10:24 I absolutely love the natural colors of Mate 50 Pro. The purple sky is so natural looking. Definitely accurate colors yes... the purple sky...

I really want to retire my 4 year old Mate 20X but Huawei hasn't come up with a replacement and there's no other phone on the market with a 7.2" display, private space, double sim, memory card slot, headphone jack, amazing battery life, amazing camera, video output from the USB C port, fingerprint scanner, face unlock.
I would ditch Google services for a Mate 50X right now.
It would be nice if the X models returned. That 20X was soon good in its day, I also had one myself and reviewed it.
@@Techtablets I know, I got it because of Flossy Carter's and yours reviews back then. Best phone I ever had, and for the longest time too.
Glad to hear that, I had mine for a long time for me.
I now hope there will be a new Note phone from Vivo like the Note X but with 8 gen2 inside.
I'm guessing, the Google smartphone team, made smart decisions and each level up phone is getting better and better. That's very good sign. I like what I see.
Best stabilization, Pixel 7 Pro, best video with more details and real coloursMate 50 Pro, iPhone 14 Pro is not so good!
Honestly, I still like the microphone from Huawei 50 Pro, quite good for communication in noisy condition. the camera I still prefer for Mate 50 Pro and IP 14 Pro Max...
What case did you get on the Pixel 7 pro?
Mate 50 Pro its a super hero 😱👏🏻
Great review! Awesome work, well done
Glad you enjoyed it!
The image algorithm of huawei quite impresive specially using the main camera. Better quality image and better background and low noise of image.
Awesome. Please do a review on the Mate50 pro
Considering the price, Pixel 7 Pro really impresses me.
my eyes might be failing but to me the mate 50 pro looked quite a bit sharper in the daytime ultrawide video. Then for the rest of the daylight video it also looked sharper to me but only a tiny tiny bit more than the iphone. stabilization definitely wasn't as good tho
New upadet mate 50 pro have Anti Shaking video & Face mask unlock
By FAR tthe Mate 50 --- much sharper pictures, and far quieter wind noise. Plus, what is that red tint in the Pixel 7 ?
the pixel 7pro is underexposed in almost every photo, that's a way to capture some details and avoid highlight clipping, but not the right one.
my px6 has the same problem kinda a shame that they couldn't find a nice inbetween.
the iphone crushed so many colors and highlights, geez!
the mate is definitely fav!
huawei is impressive! if only they have GMS
I think this is the best comparison review I've seen. I felt it was an honest review. If Pixel can improve the video shot, it's totally gonna be bye bye for iphone.
iPhone has the good video but not the best stills
true....and also the ugly over sharping protrait mode images
For me the Mate 50 pro did the best with the beach/ocean/ clouds video, as it brings out the colours better, esp of the ocean;and in the night pictures, it has a nice warmth.
For portraits & facial pics, the iPhone 14 pro does the best job.
The pixel phone is okay, a bit of a in betweener.. IMHO
Sunburn Mode Aktive in the Mate ?
Amazing video! Thanks techtablets
Glad you liked it!
Underrated channel. Thank you 🙏🙏
Dude are you upset with Pixel for some reason 🤔. Pixel is genuinely killing it out there 🙂.
mate 50 pro is definitely better than iphone 14 pro for now.
i do believe the mate will get better scores in dxomark than the 14 pro
is this comparation made after the update for mate 50 pro ? if not can we see another comparation ? thanks
It was with the update
@@Techtablets thanks a lot
Mate 50 pro is amazingly beautiful
What happened to iphone 14 pro max mic audio? It's so bad. Is it just me who noticed?
Huawei mate 50 pro 😍😍
On Mate 50 Pro it is the final software? Because i heard it is not...
It is update to date. I had a large 1GB+ update
Pixel seems to catch all more natural. I like this
an excellent comparison!
What case are you using for the Pixel 7 pro?
Just a random cheap one from Amazon
For me:
Pixel 7 Pro: sharpest photos on all conditions, great HDR photos
Mate 50 Pro: Great color, Great HDR Photos, have soft photos, but bad selfies photos (if comparing with 2 this phone)
iPhone 14 Pro: The best Video, great lowlight ultrawide quality, but bad HDR on photos
nb: portrait selfie will not working if you not choose the blur effect and using 0.8x selfies or wide selfies
Do you have the media posted online anywhere in the original formats? Would love to compare
I did, but removed them as people where using all my work to make their own comparisons with my files. So forced to remove them.
I'm surprised at the pixel pro zoom in video. Looks great
man what happened to the pixel's colour when you zoomed on the paddlers?? 3:14
I always stick with Huawei Mate 50 pro🔥🔥🥰
For me huawei mate 50 rocks!
great one! I'm having fun testing the P7P. Video is somewhat underwhelming as per your findings but I'm hopeful a software update will improve this to some degree
I hope so too!
The mate microphone sounds extremely better
bought the pixel 7 and pro, can't wait to get them
hello creator you which flagship you prefer in 2022/2023 in the camera
Anyone knows what is this 'pulsating' ground of the Pixel? 1:03
Rapid auto exposure changes I think. I left them all in auto mode. fixed locked exposure would be best on all of them. But I test in auto mode most people use, no manual mode here.
Mate 50 Pro is overall winner 🏆 for me
Didn't win video that's for sure but trading blows with the iP14P and Pixel 7
is anyone else noticing screen colour shifting/pulsing on off (intermittently)on the display of the pixel 7 pro? I've noticed the colour switching/glitching back and forth (mainly when in the camera or viewing pictures)
sir, where are the stabilization shot ?
Hi, Please can you say if your Huawei mate runns on Harmony os 3, or EMUI 12, and if you have had a significant updates. Much appreciate your channel and sorry to bother you about this. Thank you
he got the global version with emui
The iPhone seems to forget about the noise cancellation 😂
Great content as always. i would like to suggest something. What if you change the mic to the phone you are talking about as you mention it. For example as you say "I will zoom in with the Mate 50 Pro to 5x" You use the microphone on that specific phone. I think that would feel more fluid and easier to follow along with instead of having to shift attention to the speaker icon up top all the time and for example think "ok that's the Pixel mic" While you are saying "The Iphone isn't picking up the sun as good" or whatever. if you get me. :)
I like the Mate 50 Pro... Just can't give up those colors
Hi Chris. What's the name of your parrot? Perhaps you could include him in a video sample. Also, I hope Google fixes the white balance to remove the blue hue in some of the photos.
If you look at the details. must see that Mate 50 Pro is the winner!
It does very well and most of the time better than the iPhone 14 Pro for sure.
I'm surprised how bad the iPhone photos are compared to the Pixel
