      Oswaldo Muniz I feel like there’s a difference. Fi does something because it feels like it’s morally right to themselves. Fe does something because it will provide harmony for the tribe and usually respects the values of others. Ti does something because it’s logically right to themselves. Te does something because it will provide logically-based action/change for the tribe and works with a set system to accomplish that.
      Sometimes one person’s introverted decider and another’s extroverted decider will intertwine and cause them to do the same thing, but for different reasons; like, how if two people came up with a slightly hurtful joke about someone in the room, one with Fi may decide to keep quiet because they feel as if to tell the joke is to defy their moral code, and a person with Fe could decide to keep quiet because they feel as if telling the joke would disrespect the other person in a way they don’t deserve. (At the same time, the Fi could decide it very well doesn’t care if the other person is hurt as long as it feels comfortable telling the joke, and the Fe could decide that changing the mood in the room by making everyone else laugh is worth the expense of one person’s happiness.) Either way; the choices can be the same, but the reasoning is either directed inward or outward.
      Edit: I’m still trying to figure all this out, so I’m not completely sure that I’ve got this 100% down. If someone could give me advice or counter-perspectives or anything, that’d be so cool! 🤩

    If you ever wondered how an intj works, look at his eyes from this point on.
    Dave's eyes are truly a good reflection of him operating from his true perspective which is his inner world. He's literally giving you a show on how he is looking into himself, searching for everything that is connected to what she is saying (and those connection-processes are QUICK) and almost "re-lives" the events. And his eyes are tracking it like watching a movie (or a ping-pong game in this case)

I have observed that other people change where they are looking more often than INTJ does, INTJ notice that and try to mimick (to not look weird) but sometimes INTJ move their eyes too much because of stress or zoning out and it looks like that.
      Disclaimer: It is just my opinion.

      @@mr.g6177 Yes, he's not trying to look weird... they're more pointing out that he's stopped utilizing his eyes for sensory and they're subconsciously moving along with the concepts he's processing in his head.
      interesting; I didn't even notice the eye movement until I read it in comments 😅- as a Ti dom, I catch myself staring off into space after the thought as well when I conceptualize things, but my eyes tend to stare off into just one direction and more slowly switch positions with different thoughts when utilizing my own intuition - I find it interesting that his eyes are moving that fast as he processes as an Ni dom; wondering eye movement correlates with how he's connecting the dots/sorting the concepts in his head..

    I relate to the lead Ti guy during that interview as an INTP. My mom and sister are Fi saviors (ISFP, Fi dom, and ESFP, Fi second) and they will say the most random Fi things that they value or dont value, and it boils down to me Ti picking it apart for their own personal reasonings. Literally boils down to, "I dont know, it just feels like me" or "I just like/dislike it" and me being even more confused. Like I understand knowing oneself, but for me, it has to make sense, I have a certain logic as to why I follow or do things a certain way, but I gotta have my reasons and understand how it works.
    For example, my mom will like the color maroon cause she likes it and its one of her favorite colors and will Se decorate the house with a lot of Maroon colored things. Me, I don't have a favorite colors cause there are too many variables in picking one, but I'll probably pick blue lighting in my room cause i understand and have done research on color psychology (and as a graphic designer) blue will induce the feelings of calm and relaxation if I feel like I need to de-stress.

      @AS-jq4lb 4 роки тому +13

      Chance maybe i am lead sleep because this really resonates with me. i have lots of Fi values that i stand for but i never tell people how to live. i simply hope to inspire them to take the paths i believe in just by unapologetically being me. and i do find that i attract the right people into my life through this way of being and see how i subtly influence them in ways that they’re not even aware of - and i don’t even need to (formally) manipulate them. it’s an interesting way to live!

    Around about 4:30 I couldn't help but think that I have the opposite issue: Instead of craving the stage without living the experience, I want to do all that inner work and have little interest in sharing the lessons I've learned. I mean, why should I think my ideas would work for anyone else? Better to encourage people to think for themselves and find their own answers, right?

    • @laurenchide
      @laurenchide 4 роки тому +12

      But what if people could benefit from your knowledge and experience? For example, my INFP mom was a tremendous teacher, her students reeaally loved her. But for her whole career, she refused to have interns, she'd say "who am I to teach someone else how to teach?" "every teacher is different". I'm still to this day baffled by that. From my blast perspective it seems like a lack of generosity and solidarity. You ask why should your ideas work on anyone else, and it's a valid concern, after all, someone's remedy is someone else's poison. But why not let other people decide if your ideas work for them? Why withhold what you know from them?

    • @esjel9804
      @esjel9804 4 роки тому +7

      Jeff, you must be blast last (I am blast last) you sound a lot like me. I will consume lots and lots of information, or create lots of music, study many different fields on a deep level but keep it to myself. I say to myself - why share it? What am I afraid of? I don't share it because I don't value it. I only share what I value, only that what is worth sharing. But its insecurity that keeps me from sharing what to me isn't perfect or bulletproof, or mature. Like writing the first draft for a novel, it may take many more before the author is satisfied - I guess that is okay. Maybe you are only on your first draft, but at some point you need to blast for other's benefit. Otherwise, you devalue what you've learned.

    • @jay5010
      @jay5010 4 роки тому +2

      As an INFP my approach is also different: I do all the inner work, I learn my lessons and run them trough again and again in order to polish them and turn the original abstract concepts into speech that can be easily understood by anyone. Yet I don't share that finished result, instead, if I think my lessons might be of any value for anyone else, I prefer to share the story, how I came to the original concepts, the draft, so to speak. People don't value what is given to them freely, so if you make them jog a little to keep up they are more likely to actually pay attention. Not only that, but, since we are coming from different backgrounds, we might be able to extract different lessons from one same story and whilst mine may work for me, it might not work for them, but theirs might just do the trick. By forcing the lesson into someone I believe you are potentially robbing them from the possibility of learning something new off of your experiences.

    Lmfao!!! I love these little videos at the end! They are so funny and weird! I love it!! Also as a Te savior and Fi demon, doing the work on yourself is amazing. Finding you're own values and morals is freeing. When you have strong convictions in what you believe and it's against the tribe then it's fine. Sure there is a fear of them not liking you anymore and that goes into what matters more. Tribe liking you or you liking yourself. I can always find another tribe with the same values as me but my values that I worked hard and long on finding and building are not so easily changed. I like having my Fi working it means I understand myself more and my Te just helps my Fi develop more by making sense of what I believe

    This was really interest. I mean, you CAN teach what you "know," but just knowing something and telling someone about it doesn't hold any value unless you can put it to good use or use it to grown yourself. So, you can teach what you "are" is super important and valid because everywhere you go and how you present yourself should be a testament to your inner-self, your character, and that is what will truly make an impact on others. If you are a cold and bitter person on the inside, that is eventually going to affect others and cause pain upon others. If you are a warm and compassionate person on the inside, that is going to affect others in a positive way and others will then feel drawn towards you because of who you are.

      Pretty typical Gen Xer ideal. The DIY generation. Sadly, if everyone walks their talk, then society fragments and starts breaking down, which is what we’re seeing now.
      I would say, let the individualist walk their talk, let the tribalist connect society, let the organizers manage it, and let the gatherers search for what enriches us. That would be more accurate and more balanced. We all have our roles, not all roles are the Fi/Ti path.

    • @emberw214
      @emberw214 4 роки тому +1

      @@fedup1606 I'm not sure what you mean about seeing society fragmenting currently. The reason it is is because no one walks their talk. We as a society talk a lot but don't really take responsibility or action with the things we talk about. This is just in my experience and from what I see.
      I do like what you are saying in terms of each person having their roles in order to make up a balanced whole. I do agree with that as well. They just need to carry out their roles from a place of character, integrity and authenticity.

When I was in university I had four jobs on campus, founded and ran a club, was a campus activist, volunteered, won awards, had a 4.1 GPA. When I'd get home at night and on the weekends I would do NOTHING, I would just lie in bed and watch UA-cam and let my place be filthy and not even feed myself. I would try to explain to people "no, you don't understand, I don't DO anything, I'm so lazy" and they'd be like "quick question what the FUCK are you talking about you are literally winning everything and everywhere" and I'd be like "no that's all like whatever, it doesn't matter, trust me I don't do anything I'm such a piece of shit."

    Well, the thing with muscles or fitness in general is it shows the character of discipline, consistency in action, & directed restraint in not eating poorly. I think that very positively reflects on that person. Is that all they are? No, not necessarily. But it is an example of what this girl is talking about. If the tribe praises it, that doesn’t remove everything that went into it nor is it necessarily the point. People can do things for the effects it gives themselves. IE Fi.

And I’ve learned to pay attention to how I feel, I can feel the anger start to boil up and I try to prevent the explosion. But when I’m out of options (I can’t flee, the other person keeps talking or pushing after I’ve verbally informed them that I need quiet or space) then BOOM. If at work, I can’t just explode, so I’ll play “the opposite game,” I’ll say the opposite of everything I want to say and my tone will be more Fe-like, but drenched in sarcasm, and painted with valley-girl voice…. So it’s kinda like Im making fun of the person and the situation in a socially acceptable way… but I also feel like a monster because my real thoughts and feelings are so cruel and violent.
      I don’t think most people realize how much patience I have. And other types don’t seem to understand that for an ISTP, feeling annoyed is a big deal. I literally CANNOT be around people who I consistently feel annoyed by. I can’t do it. It steals my peace. And I just am not willing to play that game anymore just to get along with the tribe. When I’m in a great mood, low stress, people who normally bother me don’t bother me, I just laugh at how dumb they are (to myself) and I can effortlessly just brush off everything. But when under a lot of stress, or i have things i need to do (like recharge or finish my work), but people are seemingly trying to prevent me from doing what i need or want to do, it takes a whole lot of effort to do the mental gymnastics, it takes away my energy, and I feel resentful that people can’t just respect my needs especially when I’ve gone out of my way to respect theirs. It’s too much work. When I’m alone, I’m free to be exactly me, no extra effort to dance around the tribe. I know HOW to do it. I just don’t WANT to anymore. I’m over it most days. Even with having friends, it can be a lot of work, I hate feeling obligated to do anything. I don’t expect anything from most people. But I still need to be away from them.

    I have two questions though. Does this also apply to Ti? I imagine Ti is all about being logically consistent behind and on screen, but not so much value driven. This is a mentality you have to embrace if you wish to make a difference in your children's lives, because they learn based on the parents actions and not the hot gas they're passing. You can talk to your child ALL DAY, but it'll go in one ear and out the other. You want your kid to pick up a habit, you better practice it in front of them, and better be mindful as hell ESPECIALLY when you think they aren't paying attention to you because they absolutely are and that's when our true selves come out. Once that auto pilot kicks on, all of the subconscious programming shines through, and the hypocrisy shines through. Those are the parents that you'll hear yelling at their kids, "Do as I say, not as I do" or they'll be complaining that they don't understand where their children get their, "Bad" habits from, but their children are identical to their parents because they learn and mimic what we do.

    I dunno. I think that to truly know something, you’re not going to just regurgitate what you’ve been told. You will have understood it and integrated it into your system of understanding of the world. So if you truly KNOW something, it should become (at least part of) what you are. Unless you’re lying to yourself (in which case your knowledge isn’t complete) or there is something greater that is taking priority and somehow superseding it.
    So I guess my qualm isn’t with the fact that you teach why you are, it’s with the insinuation that knowing and being are not fundamentally connected in this case.

And I would disagree that their living it or not is a good filter. I think it’s a good way to see if they have integrity and perhaps you could use it to gauge how it’s working for them but a lot of people live (honestly and with this form of integrity) in a way that blatantly ignores, opposes, etc. reality.

    Does the guy on the left have a wife and kids? All the hippy fi stuff sounds great until outside responsibilities are added. Then fi needs to grow up and redo it's world view. You will need to work /with/ the tribe if you are going to create a life that lives on after you die; ie kids. Everybody needs clothes and food. If you're going to bachelor your entire life, than go ahead and "just do you man." If you want to get laid consistently, and you want to keep a childish form of fi, your wife might get a little sick of working and providing you enough money so you can pretend you don't need worldly things. The tribe gives you value when you take care of your business, because that means you aren't a drain on the tribe.

Nah, he's very evidently a Ti user (ESTP to be exact), rarely speaks in a context addressing or highlighting his own values (referring to 'us'/the group and using him as a contextual person within that group dynamic not as the centre piece of the point), communicates with the goal of definitively understanding and being understood (Ti 101), vs being effective or socially correct according to agreeable facts (Te).
    But then, you both are ESTP (Dave) and ESFP (Shan) presenting as 2 ENTJ's lol 🤦🏽‍♂️. The foundation of your model is built on observations not ideas, displaying an overwhelming preference for sensing and clear absence of intuition. Intuitive's create metaphysical models framed around an idea, not concrete rules of observation. Both are great, but one cannot do the other.
    I'm shocked 🤭..how do none of the influencers know their own type, running around creating intellectual models & giving advice (posed as intellectuals) that inevitably misguide masses of people who enthusiastic about an exciting science 🤷🏽‍♂️.
    Outside of Binyamin who is an ISTP - CS Josephs the narcissist (INTJ-obsessed by his Fi child), Mr & Mrs Powers (ESTP & FP), Eric Thor (INTP), Eric 'I'm high' (ESTP), Love lu (ENFJ), Michael Pierce the philosopher (ISTP), Frank James the actor (ISFP - spits Fi everywhere 😂), Antonia Dodge (ESTP), Joel Mark-Whit (INFJ). Kate from type match was ENTP, likely due to watching your stuff (but admirably came around to her true type as ESTP after a bit of convincing.)
    This space is really untidy. 🧹
    This is more of a message to people trying to learn about type - take these influencers with a pinch of salt, outside of MyType Kayleigh (the graceful queen), Kate (Typematch), Nathan (from love who, he's an ENTP although he doesn't know it), take these guys with a pinch of salt. Binyamin is cool, but he follows a flawed model, he's the most intellectual of the artisan influencers and should break away from this objective personality stuff.
    I'll make an appearance soon and tidy up some (probably most) of this mess. And you'll know what a real intellectual who knows what their talking about looks like.
    (That's Fi-trickster btw ;) - sounds conceited right)...
    and yep, this is deliberately (audaciously) polarising. All this nicey-nice 'everyone gets to play' stuff is why there's this awful confusion, and it's wrong!

      I was thinking I was the only one. I'm kind of happy reading this post from you. OPS does make sense but ONLY in the context to classify communication styles rather than personality or character. I've seen everything you say about all these people. I don't neccasarily agree with your typing of them, but that's besides the point.
      These people still rely on the superficial ideas as inspiration coming from old psychology. However they've never learned to apply the scientific method, and never learned to use them as premises rather than a foundation of theory. Not only that, jungian models are incomplete. It takes implicit (axiomatic objectivity) theory in order to make any hypothesis credible. From there you proof it theoretically, and finally show the consequent end results by practical application. If we were to do this from using any of the models of any of the people you've mentioned, you'll find biases everywhere that do not allow neuro a-typical personalities to be classified accurately. For example, how do high sensitives (neurological higher sensitivity to stimulation) fit into this? According to OPS, high sensitives must be Fi/Se lead because they'll automatically value things differently due to high sensitivity. What about autism? They're known to be more generally conscientious. Do they now have a logical personality because that's how they present themselves? Or do they actually have a rich inner world that they can't show others because they're stuck in coping mechanisms? None of these models can rationally answer those questions. And the reason for that is simple; this is protoscience.
      It is protoscience, but none of this is crap. They're all honest attempts to make the world a better place in their own way. We should therefore not further critise them, but rather, support them from a distance. We should however as you've done, advice others that this is a thing that happens. Use these models for communication purposes, not for classification. If you do, you'll get nasty surprises.

      @@msc8382 I agree with some things you said however I do think that communication is a big indicater on how you use cognitive function as it is usually a diect product or your perception combinded with the way you figured it out and the 'value' or emotion that is transported by it.
      But anyways. I think a lot of people overvalue mbti and it's use tbh. Since our cognitive function are not the only part of our cognitve vireing a lot of other things can take in impact for example. I think every part of your genetic Preisposition determines how you cognitivly develop and probably take influence on the cognitive functions as well.
      I am an entp for example but who has developed senses (senses not the function sensing e.g. I have a highly developed sense of taste an smell and am pretty light sensitive, but I bad eye). However because I'm easily overstimulated in this deapartment plus my bad eye sight I alaways avoided the sensory and usually don't pay attention to my envirenment and what I'm doing myself at all and escape more to my ne.
      What I wanted to say with this example is that other genetic factors may have an impact on how your cognitive functions manifest (and because of the back and forth correlation of course also mental illnesses).
      From their Theory I know enfjs and infjs who are not jumpers but with super developed ti due to them having a talent for deduction and math while ti being the most 'useful' function for that subject they developed in general and are now more trustworthy of their ti and able to use that as a general tool for making decisions and understanding.
      When a function develops (as you can see) plays a role as well in combination with genetic prwdisposition. Also the nature vs nurture debate shouldn't be dismissed as well. In order to understand and 'survive' in a certain envirenment a certain function might be useful. An intp in the army might have developed there blindspot se more in combtination with there si in order to quite literally suirvive lol. School is another example where you almost always have to engage in all of your functions in order to get good results mostly because it's a requirement for different subjects but also different teachers beinh different types and therefore expecting different things to whom you have to adapt.
      Again nature vs. Nature is a debate in general about various different cognitive and genetical things for example IQ as well.

    • @taugamhorrsod8972
      @taugamhorrsod8972 4 роки тому

      And behavior typing is another thing which leads to a lot of misinformation about mbti. The content you are talking about doesn't directly have to determine your mbti type (leading back to the nature vs. Nurture debate and the genetic presdisposition part). I actually think the main thing the cognitve functions actually determine is someones perception and experience of reality (for example te-fi model about emotions >>>emotions being the best conclusion you brain can make based on the information you have
