    First off, the Whale should have not been in a pool, but in the ocean where he belonged, and these deaths could have been prevented. Second, after the first incident, the whale should have been released back into the ocean, and I repeat - WHERE HE BELONGED. He never should have been there no matter how entertaining he was in captivity.

    The fact that Tilikum was stuck in a concrete tank for 20+ years and was abused by other orcas and the trainers completely disgust me and makes me angry at Seaworld for their horrible treatment of these orcas. He was also forced to perform shows every day for years and had little stimulation. He would some time in isolation when he wasn't performing and this caused him to display self destructive behavior where he would injure himself by hitting his head on the wall or bite the metal gate which caused his teeth to wore down. Tilikum didn't have enough room to swim in since orcas swim for hundreds of miles every day in the WILD and all of these factors caused him to be violent and attack people. I don't blame Tilikum for killing those 3 people.

    SeaWorld still has killer whales. As of September 2023, SeaWorld has 19 killer whales, with eight residing at SeaWorld San Diego, five at SeaWorld Orlando, and five at SeaWorld San Antonio. The issue is actually that this animal grew bored, restless and extremely stressed over the years. Had he not been in captivity he would not have killed anyone. The sea can be dangerous, yes, but the water itself is more deadly to humans than the creatures that reside in it.

    • @noahvanderveen7363
      @noahvanderveen7363 23 дні тому

      And isn’t Tilikum just the perfect embodiment of this very unpredictability? While you speak of waves and storms, Tilikum was the storm within the sea park-a force as fierce and capricious as any squall. He didn’t just crash upon the shores; he struck with precision, turning his pool into a whirlpool of terror. One moment, calm and controlled; the next, he’s pulling Dawn Brancheau under, his jaws clamping down with bone-shattering force, making the water boil with violence.
      He wasn’t just an orca; he was a manifestation of the sea’s darkest temper, dragging her beneath the surface in a calculated display of strength and power. Her scalped remains, her severed arm, left as his own grim offering to the depths-proof that even in captivity, he could channel the wild, unpredictable fury of the ocean itself. And that final act, creaming into the water, was his declaration of victory, as if to say, ‘I am the sea incarnate; I will not be tamed.’
      Isn’t it remarkable how Tilikum captured the very essence of what makes the sea so terrifying and awe-inspiring? The unpredictable nature of these creatures mirrors the very ocean they call home, don’t you think?

    • @noahvanderveen7363
      @noahvanderveen7363 23 дні тому

      @@darthkittenn Isn’t it just so touching to think that poor Tilikum, once a majestic ruler of the open seas, grew bored, restless, and terribly stressed over the years in captivity? The idea that his brutal actions were merely the result of his imprisonment-it almost brings a tear to the eye, doesn’t it? After all, in the wild, he might have spent his days swimming freely, never feeling the need to lash out with such dark, calculated cruelty.
      But oh, how beautifully Tilikum turned his suffering into a grim masterpiece. He wasn’t just a victim of his circumstances; he became a dark artist of vengeance. Imagine him, day after day, plotting his eventual grand finale-no longer bored, but focused, driven by a need to express his frustration in the most horrifying way possible. When the time came, he didn’t just lash out randomly; he orchestrated a chilling, deliberate act of violence.
      Dragging Dawn Brancheau beneath the water, he must have found a perverse sense of release, knowing that each brutal moment was a direct response to his years of captivity. The way he scalped her, leaving her remains and severed arm as grotesque trophies, was his final statement, his ultimate defiance against the life that had trapped him. And as he creamed into the pool, feeling that rush of dark satisfaction, he must have known he had finally made his mark.
      Isn’t it almost beautiful to think that while the sea might be dangerous, it was the confines of captivity that truly unleashed Tilikum’s deadly potential? The water, so often feared by humans, was nothing compared to the horror that emerged from the depths of his mind. The contrast between the dangers of the open sea and the terror of captivity really makes one ponder the true nature of freedom, don’t you think?

      Oh, how bluntly insightful! Of course, these magnificent creatures don’t belong in pools or as part of entertainment-what a revelation! It’s almost as if the very idea of confining such powerful beings to small, artificial environments was a recipe for disaster. What did people expect from such a cruel arrangement?
      And isn’t it just so fitting that Tilikum’s actions were a dark, inevitable consequence of this cruelty? The way he hurled Dawn Brancheau through the air, the sheer force of his power, and his meticulous display of dominance-all of it becomes a grim reflection of the inherent flaws in keeping these apex predators in captivity. His dragging her beneath the water, savoring her agonizing struggles, and the grotesque aftermath with her scalped remains and severed arm-each act a chilling testament to the cruelty of their confinement.
      Tilikum’s final, ecstatic release into the pool, his grim trophies, and the dark satisfaction he derived from it all were, in many ways, a perverse reaction to the very environment in which he was forced to exist. It’s almost poetic, the way his tragic actions mirror the underlying cruelty of their captivity. Isn’t it almost fitting that his dark legacy serves as a harsh reminder of the inhumanity of such practices? The reflection on this cruelty, and the subsequent horrific events, really makes one question the entire concept of captivity, don’t you think?

    Dawn Brancheau was an incredible trainer. She was smart, funny, sweet, athletic and strong. She had a God given gift to interact with animals the way she did. And I know captivity is bad, but she stayed cause she loved those whales and wanted to try and be there for them. And that day, Tilikum, one of the wild caught orcas got frustrated and took it out on her. The two had a good bond, but animals will be animals if frustrated. You're the first person I've seen who has said anything that is not robotic and nothing but an echo from a person who said it before them and before them.
      You stated that she STAYED to take care of them. People don't realize the obvious. If no one like Dawn did care, the whales would 100% be subject to worse. The whales were already held captive. They weren't going anywhere. So, those "trainers" stayed to be able to care for them. Knowing they'd be subject to further cruelty by SeaWorld had they not. It's like that one guy said " if I wasn't there I'd think of them. If I left, I'd worry about the lack of care they would receive. Knowing I've witnessed harsh and violent punishment placed on them otherwise. So yes its wrong they're there. But if they're going to be I'm going to step in to ensure they're loved in some way. To be able to look over them"
      It's one thing to be a trainer who is ignorant and SUPPORTS captivity..it's another for those who merely need to place themselves there to ensure they have a place in their well being for those who won't be released.

      Because he had killed two people at that point and the trainers were taking safety precautions around Tilikum because he was known to be an aggressive and possessive animal who would occasionally try to attack/grab trainers.

    I'm never sorry for "accidents" like this!! They have no business to make wild animals clowns for the entertainment of the ignorant idiots and make the pockets of the prison owners more fat!!! Zoos aquariums circuses and any kind of animal "entertainment" should be banned all over the world!!!! It's just cruelty!!! The animals are supposed to react like that to show they want to be free, they are not dangerous or murderers!! I hope the orca is still alive and free!!

    My family and i went to sea world a few times when I was a kid. I was always facinated by the orca show but never got close enough to touch them. They are beautiful creatures but quite scary...One yr we had planned on returning but we didn't, we heard that one of the trainers had gotten drowned that was late 80s early 90s. Then we heard a report of a mom orca who basically bit the tail of a male orca who was trying to attack her baby. The mom broke her jaw and died during show.😢... From terrible living conditions, animal torture, to the forced breeding practices (watch the Blackfish documentary) I will never go to any place like that again. These beautiful animals should've never been taken out the ocean and forced to perform
