FINALLY hatched one after 2 years of trying. I got 4 gym badges and decided I wanted a shiny Impidimp before continuing so. I just started hatching eggs with a foreign shiny ditto I got in surprise trade. I'm so damn stubborn I refused to continue the game till I got one so for 2 years straight every day I'd take a couple hours aside to hatch some eggs some days going from wake to sleep and it still took me 2 frickin years to get and I got so far beyond Impidimpatient I almost screamed a couple times. Started sometime in 2020 when I got the game.
Randomly playing sword, I was walking through the mushroom area and got it randomly after 2 encounters. Wasn’t even shiny hunting I just did what you did though, hit those mushrooms.
This man is strong for not doing masuda or brilliant encounter method just do make more entertaining content for us, so let's all say to him thank you 😀
Know what stinks, I tried hunting for a shiny Impidimp in the stony wilderness with the 22 other pokemon in that area, and i had found by sheer bad luck a shiny Boldore. It would have been my 2nd one I found by accident. Right as I tried rapid spinning the Boldore to weaken it I remembered at level 60 they can detonate. It exploded in my face and that whole hunt which went from 10 pm to 7:30 am this morning was wasted. Here I am 12:15 am in the Glimwood grinding these Imps and still nothing yet. Still better to get guranteed Impidimps than 22 others. If I find a shiny one you know that thing is going to be a Gmax Grimmsnarl shiny when he is fully trained. I think I'll name him Silas.
Yeah failing shinies is the worst! I accidentally reset over a shiny pikachu after over 6000 encounters and that was devastating! Good luck on your impidimp hunt!
My worst shiny fail I can remember hurt so badly, it was a shiny Deino in Alpha Sapphire when I was in highschool. I hunted it for a month and after 880 encounters on one day alone I find one in the middle of my science class, only for it to use Head Smash twice after my catches failed. Good news is i found another the next day.
Know whats funny, 3 days ago I took a break from hunting Impidimp and tried my luck with Duraludon on route 10. Didn't find the metallic dragon but instead found 2 of my fav pokemon ever with shinies by complete accident: a shiny Snowver with a shivering mark yesterday, and a shiny Cubchoo today, oh boy I'm gonna make a combo pair with them because Snow Warning activated Snow Cloak and Brightpowder is funny to use.
You would not believe it... Today the weather in the Slippery Slope was fog, which was the only location and time where Impidimp could be encountered in the overworld as brilliant pokemon. While looking away I missed that I had encountered a shiny Snom between 3 to 7 hours before I realized it. I missed another shiny. And now neither Duraludon's Lake of Outrage or Impidimp's Slippery Slope have the right weather, making hunting impossible. On the bright side I'm *this* close to filling the entirety of all 3 pokedexes: I traded a shiny Blissey, Boldore, and Delibird on Pokemon Home for Glastrier, Regieleki, and the hard to get Porygon line, the rest I can breed or encounter. Well, it is 5 am now so maybe tommorow I'll grind. Maybe get lucky again. Happy Easter.
